Came in with obvious swelling in my legs and chest pain. Emts noted it . Shahagun OliverMD says it’s nothing….. 3years of cardiology hx but yea. It’s nothing.

This dr had other biases. Left feeling like a complete idiot for coming here. I’d have been better off continuing to treat my CHF alone. Told him I’d been going to bed totally swollen and waking up and getting through the day until I swell again. I’d been having bp spikes and lows. My previous temperature was 94. But that didn’t matter. He focused on my least issue - vomiting. The leads on the ekg were constantly coming off and no one fixed it or checked the machine. I’d shown a fragment 4 days prior and was concerned they didn’t get accurate readings after how rushed and sloppy it was done.

This guy just wanted me off his schedule as quickly as possible.

I’ll stay in kern where I belong? Sorry to bother you. Your dr Bach diagnosed me in 2021 and really left me to figure this out alone back then.

I have been having complications with my left kidney and have had a few visits to the emergency room these past weeks. My last 2 visits I have had the same young man draw blood from me. I want to give praise to this amazing young man. Cooper, not only are you the best at what you do, you also have the most wonderful and uplifting personality. In these most uncomfortable and not so good situations, you have brought my spirits up and put a smile on my face. I thank you so very much....
It is unfortunate to read all these negative reviews about Henry Mayo. I myself have had nothing but the best care each time I have been admitted. Thank you to each and everyone of you who have cared for me at one time or the other....

Just here in ER last night, one bleach blonde Hispanic lady (Nelly) comes across as abrasive. She just threw a urine sample cup on my tray next to me, no introduction, doesn't say hi, nothing. But continues her conversation with co-workers. Moments before that, she was walking in the hall in front of us patients chomping down on cookies. How rude is that? Does she not realize patients probably have not eaten all day?
Then finally I get discharged by A young black girl, cold not friendly (Chazmine)?, she proceeds to take out my IV with no gloves and has acrylic nails on. Now, coming from working in the medical field myself I know this is a BIG NO NO!! Maybe someone should tell her about how bacteria loves to breed under acrylic nails. Also especially when she goes from patient to patient not sanitizing her hands in between. I did however love and agree with the treatment from my assigned P.A. But the people in the back need retraining!

I am shocked and dismayed to share the unacceptable treatment my husband received at Henry Mayo Hospital Emergency Room this past Tuesday. I took him to urgent care after having a fever of over 103 for three days. After examining him, they recommended taking him to the ER. We were in the waiting room for four hours. He was taken back multiple times but never given a bed. They refused to give him an IV, even though based on urine samples he was severely dehydrated. They drew blood and ran tests, but without waiting for results, said they were sending us home. I asked to speak with his doctor, Lawrence Liao and the nurse who saw him because my intuition was telling me otherwise. They were both extremely rude, condescending and impatient. He said it was just a virus and only gave us a prescription for ibuprofen. As we pulled out of the parking lot, they called to say they hadn't properly done his blood work and to bring my exhausted and very ill husband back to be poked and prodded again. They then re admitted him and tried to put him back in the hours long waiting que. After two more days of high fevers, hearing nothing regarding the tests they ran, I brought him to a different urgent care and they determined he had raging pneumonia. The doctor at the urgent care was shocked that Henryo Mayo did not see the pneumonia in his lungs, but my husband expalined to her they only took one image of his chest. She was appalled and said a minimum of two images should be taken so no wonder they missed it. Henryo Mayo was so overcrowded that they treated us like a number and wanted us out.
I cannot believe I almost lost my husband due to the extreme negligence and uncaring unprofessional actions of this hospital.

People here are cruel and unprofessional. I came in with the heart condition, almost losing my consciousness. Everyone from the lobby guy, nurses and even doctors just ignored me for hours even though I was asking for help. Honestly I thought I was gonna die there. This place kills people, avoid it if you want to survive. You're not gonna get any help here, only evil smiles and sinister looks.

I recently had a very disappointing experience at Henry Mayo Emergency Hospital in Valencia. I went there due to a mild pain on the left side of my chest, expecting prompt and professional medical attention, but my experience was not satisfactory at all.

Upon arrival, I was asked to wait in the general waiting area. After a long wait, they initially performed an ECG and checked my blood pressure, then asked me to wait in a chair. Subsequently, I was asked to wait in a chamber for another 20 minutes. The doctor finally came to see me but spent less than a minute asking me questions before rushing off to the next patient.

When the phlebotomist came to take my blood, it was clear he was inexperienced. It took him three painful attempts to draw blood, which caused significant discomfort. It seems highly inappropriate to have new joiners performing such critical tasks in an emergency setting. After the blood draw, I was asked to wait in the general lobby again until it was time for my X-ray.

Following the X-ray, I waited for almost an hour and a half before another person came to request a blood sample again because there was problem in initial blood as unexperienced person worked with that. I gave them blood again. And after 30 minute another person came and asked for blood again, There appeared to be a severe communication gap among the staff, as they were unaware that blood had already been drawn 2 times. This resulted in a third person coming to take my blood again, and I had to stop them from proceeding with the unnecessary procedure and they not even says sorry for that and just asked to wait in lobby.

Finally, after more waiting, they asked me to come inside again. the doctor saw me again for only about 30 seconds, informed me that there was no problem with my chest, and promptly left without providing an opportunity for me to ask any questions. It was frustrating to observe that other doctors were spending ample time with their patients while I felt rushed and neglected.

To add insult to injury, I received very large amount of bills, which included charges for an emergency room that I was never placed in. The doctor only spent a combined total of less than two minutes with me. It is unjust for any individual to be burdened with such a hefty bill for such minimal interaction and inadequate care. In this challenging economic climate, such exorbitant charges for inadequate and rushed medical care seem almost fraudulent. The unprofessionalism, poor internal communication, and lack of patient engagement at Henry Mayo Emergency Hospital are unacceptable.

I hope this review helps others understand the challenges and frustrations I faced and prompts the hospital to address these serious issues. Patients deserve better care and transparency in medical services, especially in emergency situations.

I recently had the unexpected experience of visiting Henry Mayo’s emergency department with my son, who was on the verge of anaphylactic shock. Despite hearing mixed reviews about the facility, our encounter there left an indelibly positive impression.

From the moment we arrived, the care provided by the emergency department team was exceptional. Every nurse and doctor we encountered exuded compassion and professionalism, making us feel supported and reassured during a stressful time.

One particular instance stands out in my memory: in the early hours of the morning, feeling exhausted and in need of a caffeine boost, I asked a nurse if there was anywhere to purchase coffee. Despite the late hour, she kindly offered to fetch me a cup from the break room. This small gesture of kindness made a significant difference and helped me stay alert until we were discharged.

I am immensely grateful to everyone at Henry Mayo for their unwavering dedication and commitment to the well-being of their patients. Their hard work and compassion undoubtedly make a difference in the lives of those they serve in Santa Clarita and beyond. Thank you for your outstanding service.

Took 6 hours for my pregnant wife to get an ultrasound after her car accident. People were nice but it felt like they were always lying to us that we are about to get our ultrasound and we waited a long time to get our results.
The ultrasound had to be sent to an outside company because it was so late so we didn’t get the results until the next day anyways thru their health portal.
