went in for an asthma attack- they took away my inhaler and took off the nebulizer the paramedics gave me and told me i didn’t need it and i didn’t have asthma. despite being in there the day before, the nebulizer helping, and them telling me i have asthma and should see a pulmonologist asap. i went 2.5 hours without anyone checking in on me despite i was wheezing and could barely breathe. they didn’t check in when my monitor was screaming saying my heart rate was 245 and passed out. 1 hour later when someone finally came they said they would get the doctor. i waited another 30 minutes and still no one came. i never got a hospital bracelet either. maybe that’s why i wasn’t seen? they just forgot i was there? i ended up walking out….i had a great experience with the day shift sunday morning. but unfortunately it seems night shift could not give any cares to their patients.

I wish I could rate a zero. After calling and asking for update on my son after he had called me and told me he was struggling to advocate for himself. I was told they could not talk to me even though my son had given them permission. I then called my son and asked him to bring his phone to his nurse . This is the person that also told my son he could just leave if he wasn’t happy with his treatment. I spoke respectfully with the nurse who then hung up on me as I tried to advocate for my son’s treatment. Being out of state and unable to be there this was beyond stressful. I have never received such deplorable care. Yes, I will definitely be calling their patient care representative!

I haven't had a single decent experience at this hospital. I have lived in Gardner for over 10 years and their services have been awful. This is a hospital that cares more about their executives than they do about their patients. They have single handedly made every condition I have ever gone in for worse, before transferring me to a hospital who can actually help. PLEASE AVOID THIS HOSPITAL

Had a horrible experience with the patient advocate while my dad was terminal with cancer last year. She essentially left me to figure everything out myself and it was a very traumatic experience.
This year I had my own bad experience with the nursing staff on the floor as a patient. I asked for an update on my situation 3 times over 12 hours because i had no idea what was going on, for them to tell me they were going to find out from the doctor and let me know. This communication was by me ringing the call button and them talking to me through the speaker since they couldn't walk 10 feet from the nurses station to talk to me face to face. The next day I hear from the doctor that no nurse ever called him to ask for an update. Talk about blatant dishonesty.

I had to go into the ED for abdominal pain the staff there were amazing did everything they could to make sure I was comfortable and cared to find out what was going on. I ended up admitted on wakins 1 for the night awaiting surgery and the nurses and staff up there were caring and professional. The OR staff was nothing but amazing from the nurses, anesthesiologist and the Surgeon. I know the hospital has gone through a lot but the care and compassion that passes through each specialty is amazing. I just want to thank everyone who took care of me I would 10/10 recommend for anyone to go here.

This is the best hospital l have been to. The nursing staff are amazing! The doctors care! At haywood, when you are admitted, they don't tell you they are working on your discharge! They do this at baystate Springfield and cooly Dickenson Northampton. The hospitalist at Haywood care. They send you home when your ready, they ask you how you feel. At the other above mentioned hospitals, the hospitalist don't ask how you are, don't listen, discharge you when you are not really to go home. The consequence of that is that you are re admitted. This is a well run hospital. Everyone l met was professional. I will send all my friends here.

Following an emergency room visit via ambulance (improperly attired- as this was in middle of night), I requested a pillow and blanket. A blanket arrived after 3.5 hours; a pillow was never provided. Staff attentiveness was deficient. Upon discharge, despite their awareness of my condition upon arrival, no assistance, such as a wheelchair, was offered despite inclement weather. This experience was unsatisfactory, causing significant anxiety and reluctance to seek future care due to the lack of attention to critical patient care details.

Sitting in the ER for over an hour before they realized that they put the wrong name on my wristband!!!! I went there because my blood pressure was 180/120
If I hadn't complained about the wait, they would never have called my name, because they never put my correct name in!
By the time they finally got things straighten out my blood pressure was 212/140
This hospital needs to make sure the help knows what the hell they are doing!
