My experience was honestly phenomenal!!! If I would have known about this hospital sooner I would have had all 5 of my babies here! To ALL the staff from 4/11/24-4/13/24 from the front desk security to the wonderful lady in administration that checked me in, to the ER ladies that took my first vitals all the way to the most amazing, loving, caring, and super supportive compassionate staff of the labor and delivery team including Tim the anesthesiologist who was so sweet! I honestly love you all and appreciate you all truly! Becky, Lindsay and so many others that I unfortunately forgot to write down your names, to the doctor who was also so compassionate! My baby is so blessed to have you looking over his momma while I was in there!!! He’s doing better now but still not out of the woods yet and is also being taken care of amazingly in the NICU.

When we arrived at Hi-Desert medical centre we were in a very frightening situation. Upon arrival the nurses and Dr. Atkinson were very quick to react and provide very high quality compassionate care. They explained everything they were doing to help calm nerves, and we are very grateful for the kind treatment we received from all members of staff. Thank you!!

I honestly experienced the worst medical care ever at this center. My visit occurred last month after an awful bout with food poisoning wherein the doctor (who seemingly lacked the ability to listen or care) prescribed Zofran - the very medication my pregnant wife already has that I explained didn’t work. We waited 2 hours during the intake process as the employee in the corner section prioritized locating paper for her printer over the many patients needing care. To somehow make matters worse, I received a bill from this visit for $1900. I hate leaving a negative review, but I’ll consider it worth it if this can save even one other person from a similar situation.

Yet another absolutely atrocious experience here and copious amounts of medical trauma. This place is not even just a “band aide station” like us locals like to joke around and say. It’s unfortunatly horrendously worse. Every experience I’ve had here since I was 15 over a decade ago has been insane. Miscarriages and them leaving my baby in cup next to me for 6 hours. Or the time I came in for a bug bite and got my breast caressed (the bug bite was on my back btw). Oh the list goes on. But what was finally the last straw was the horrendous treatment my husband endured here and the extremely rude and insensitive BS things I went through as the spouse of the patient. Laws don’t matter only what they want to pick and choose to care about and be prepared to have to do your own research. This place is an absolute joke. Very very few people here actually care about their patients. The rest are on a power trip. Shout out to Ravin in the ER, she actually cares about the HUMAN BEINGS that come into the unit. I’ve always been super patient and not unreasonable by any means; in fact I don’t think I’ve ever written a bad review and haven’t to date left a review for this place but this was my final straw. I wish I had an hour to go over every time this place has failed me. My family. Friends. You name it, this place has a reputation in town for a reason. GO TO DESERT REGIONAL.

I'm disappointed to report that responding to the generic reply from Hi-Desert Medical Center—asking patients to contact [email protected]—has yielded no results. Not even a single reply. This lack of accountability and failure to address my concerns is incredibly frustrating, and I strongly advise others to be cautious when considering their services. It's disheartening to be treated this way, especially when healthcare costs are already overwhelming.

My friend in Morongo Valley caller the paramedics and they said they were going to take him to high desert medical center. My friend begged them to take him to Eisenhower but they insisted on bringing him to high desert. When he was admitted he told them he was allergic to morphine and dairy. For dinner tonight they brought him lasagna and string beans. He told them he cannot eat cheese and ask them for something else. The nurse told him that it's 6:00 the kitchen is closed everyone's got home and there's nothing else they can give him. I spoke to the nurse over the phone and asked her what she would do if this was her father. Apparently she would let her father starve because she reiterated that there was nothing she could do. You know they have the employee cafeteria and they probably have a cafeteria for visitors. So the whole notion that there is nothing they can do is essentially a medical malpractice.

Don't know what has happened to the quality of care or promptness, but I will drive to Palm Springs or San Gorgonio in the future. Dr at night wants chest x-rays, breathing treatments and unnecessary tests for a friggin sinus infection from the smoke and ashes. Mind you, this was all after sitting for 3 hrs waiting to be seen. If I needed a breathing treatment wasn't 3hrs of waiting life threatening? Been dealing with asthma/bronchitis for over 50 yrs and can do my own breathing treatments at home unless acute inflammation is present. Really sucks when someone is trying to pad the bill and doesn't think you're intelligent enough to know.
Update: left after being dumped in the lobby again. Went home. Took 2 different manufacturers covid tests. Both negative. Go figure. Will be changing my ins plan back to Desert Regional in PS. Don't know what has happened to this place, but it is pathetic. Someone needs to fix this circus. Will be contacting Medicare and MediCal as well
