Hillside Horizon for teens was wonderful for my daughter. We live out of State and it was hard to leave my daughter. However, Hillside was so compassionate and understanding . From the first phone call to admissions to the day of discharge all staff have been nothing but supportive. Thank you Hillside, Mike ( admissions, Kasaundra, Taylor, Headly, the few staff I didn’t meet face to face , but were there for my daughter, and Felicia. Thank you Hillside Horizon from my family to yours!

Had a great wonderful experience with the whole Company and staff members of this wonderful amazing organization. They reach my son where the two previous places I had to taken my son to weren’t able to get him to open up to them entirely. My son felt so safe comfortable, and the resources they had, he finally open up to them truthfully, honestly, and most importantly they didn’t judge him. He didn’t feel ashamed of himself there he was willing to get the help he needed finally, and it was because of tutelage and the passion and patience of their staff. I truly recommend this place Hillside Horizon if your child is in need of any kind of mental or substance abuse. They have a lot of fun at the house which a lot of places do not they still get to enjoy being children and have great amazing outings so they get to with the other clients in the household, truly amazing place can’t say enough about this organization. It was a blessing to our family that we have found this place.

They're an amazing facility with so many wonderful staff members. They showed they really cared about their clients. They tried helping my step-daughter and just made the whole process easier. Taylor, Caitlin, both Felicia's, Christy and every single other staff, all 5 stars.

My daughter came to Hillside Horizons after being in a facility that did not care for her very well. The very first day she arrived I could tell she was already beginning to feel better. She is so much better, she feels better, she looks better. They take good care of these kids I promise you will not be disappointed. I’m so grateful for the staff Taylor, Caitlin, Hedley, Alison , Mike, and the team of psychologist and doctors… I could go on with the list of names. I truly see them changing lives in our youth today. I recommend this place for your teen. You will not regret it. Blessings to the staff of Hillside Horizons! Keep up the good work!

My girl was in this residence for almost 2 months. This facility is so different from the rest of the facilities I’ve looked at. My girl stayed in residence because she wanted to. She’s allowed to make a call for 15 min in the morning and 15 min at night. She’s given a schedule, list of chores, and was rewarded with an allowance. They took them out to the gym and to fun places. They also treat them to a big outing once a month.
Through multiple group sessions everyday, my girl learned how to communicate better. The therapist also recommended a book for us to read and gave her a copy. The staffs were very nice to her, which made me feel at ease.
Throughout her stay, I was able to visit her twice(since we live out of state). We also had weekly virtual family therapy, which was a great help.
I would highly recommend this place. It teaches the kids to have a life and work balance through point system, which is more realistic and fun, than just being kept inside the facility.
It makes them look forward to tomorrow.

Saying that Hillside Horizon was an amazing experience was an understatement. I’d rate them a million stars if I could, but sadly I can’t (lol). From the wonderful care I received to the staff, it was truly an unforgettable experience.
On my first day, I had just been in a really bad headspace from another residential. I was kicked out for an accusation of violence. I felt that residential had been the place that I belonged in, but I was wrong. I felt like I was the problem, but I wasn’t, and that was one out of many things I learned from Hillside.
I had been standing at the edge of the driveway, backing away from one of the staff (Sydney), and she was so gentle and kind with me. I still remember that moment. She reassured me while we walked in, and she gave me breaks to process what I was doing on my first day.
During my intake, I unfortunately passed out. I was taken to my (first) room (which was absolutely gorgeous and made me feel as comfortable as I could at that moment.
After I recovered, I met another staff member: Mindy. She was a kind, pure-hearted, and empathetic person, and I’m grateful that I met her in the milieu first. I was afraid the staff would be cruel to me, just like my last place, but both Sydney and Mindy were nothing but kind. I was still verbally shut down, but Mindy accommodated that, and even gave me a pen so I could journal that night (If you’re reading this Mindy, yes I still have the second pen you gave me). She treated me with the most care I could ask for, and I’m so grateful.
On my sixth day there, I ran away, and was sent to ETS (Emergency Treatment Services). Hedley (The previous therapist), promised me that I’d be back, and I was skeptical. When I was in my old residential, a therapist said the same thing to me, and I believed her. The next day, I found myself in the hospital, because they denied me, but Hillside kept their word, and I’m still grateful for it. They gave me so many chances, and they’re the only place that did. Every time I thought I’d get kicked out, they opened their arms to me again, and I thank them for that every day.
After a while, I started actually wanting to get better. All the staff treated me so kindly, and it made me believe that I could actually succeed. I really wanted to trust that I could truly recover, and the progress I made while I was there was something that I would actually change for. Everyone (except the clients) made my treatment wonderful, and I’m glad that was the case.
I was relentlessly bullied by the clients, specifically one that would always try to trigger me in the worst ways possible. I have BPD (diagnosed), and one of the staff there (Mindy) was the person I attached to. I was trying my hardest to change, but the client that I am referring to always mentioned how close she was to Mindy. I hated her with every fiber of my being. Even now, she pretends that she’s my friend, but I know that she’s just trying to get close so she can hurt me.
However, when clients hurt me, Mindy was always there to defend me and make sure that I was okay. She stayed to comfort me when I desperately needed someone to talk to. She is such a kind soul and I wish her nothing but the best.
Since I left, I always think of them and hope they are doing well. If you are looking for a good treatment center, I strongly recommend Hillside Horizon.
Shoutouts to: Mindy, Sydney, Kristy, Hedley (former therapist), Caitlin, Berenice, Kassaundra, Alice, Andrea (former BHT), Felicia D. (current therapist), Felicia C. (Clinical director), Taylor (Program Director). They are all lovely people (yes that is all the staff). I know nocturnal shift isn’t on there, but I’m gonna be so honest, I don’t know how to spell their names.
Thank you for your kindness Hillside. I’m eternally grateful.
