I have known Dr. Haynes since I was 22 years old. He has always been loved by all who worked for him , friends, and patients. I am 69 and there are no words that will ever explain this very special man. I want to wish him the very best. He is the best example of what a physician should try too be. And GREAT blessing to the NashvilleTn society.

Soon after moving to Nashville from what was then West Germany where I received a medical retirement from the U.S. Army for the illness of narcolepsy, I sought out a doctor who specialized in sleep medicine. I was fortunate enough to have been led to Dr. Haynes thru a woman who served as an advocate for people like me at St Thomas West. Since that time, he has treated me for both narcolepsy and obstructive sleep apnea. Dr. Haynes impressed me with his warm demeanor, professional skill and knowledge, and his genuine concern and interest in me, not only as a patient, but as a person. Over the 28 years he treated me, I came to regard him, not only as a professional, but also as a friend. On what would be my last visit, when he informed me that he was retiring, I had to fight back the tears. We were never close on a social basis, but I considered him a trusted friend. St. Thomas is losing one of the best physicians in all of Nashville. Needless to say I know that I, and all that had the privilege of knowing and working with him will miss him.

About 10 years ago I was sent to Dr Haynes for a sleep study.The next morning he told me that I didn’t have sleep apnea,but he didn’t know how I got any sleep because I kicked all night. He changed my medication that helped me better than any other medication.
I have restless leg syndrome bad.He sets and listens to your questions and talks to you about it.
Also he a a great nurse that he had for many years .She was one of the sweetest person and the best nurse.
I am going to miss going to him every six months.Best of luck in your Retirement enjoy your time with family.Thanks for your service.

The Dr. Haynes has great “bedside” manner. The staff is very friendly. The only drawback (it does not remove a star) is that they are very busy so call as soon as you can to get in.
