My husband had a total hip replacement today anterior approach. Dr Stewart is who we were referred to for evaluation of his hip. The initial X-ray was a shock to me. He had no joint space left between his femur and hip joint. The only thing that would make a difference for him is a replacement. They asked us where we wanted to have this done. My husband's answer was where ever Dr Stewart prefers to do it. We were scheduled at Jack Houston. We are so blessed. The staff and other patients we met was incredible. The patients pain seemed well managed. Families were content with the contacts of the medical staff. The food was wonderful. Our friend said that he had a great hamburger. I had a BLT that was so good. One person didn't meet the high standard set forth by our experience to that time. The recovery room nurse did not call me until she already had him set up in the room. She didn't hook the iv up to the pump nor did she plug the bed in to the wall outlet. She was gone before I could get upstairs. Here answers were short and snippy on the phone. It is so sad that this one person leaves a cloud over the experience when the remainder of the day was over the top! Our nurse on 4th floor was great her name was Nicole. I don't recall other names. The person in dietary was so helpful. I had never been there before and was lost as to how to get what we wanted. She stayed with us until the order was in. Instead of us having to stand and wait we sat in the dining room intending to wait and check on our food. She came around the corner quickly with our food in hand. I wish I had gotten her name.

The xray tech and the lady that handles the billing were the kindest. I thought I broke my foot because I couldn't put weight on it. I found it I sprained the joint in my foot. I came on crutches but because of my sciatica and bad knees I couldn't anymore and needed a wheelchair. The Dr acted like he didn't even want to be there. He was professional but bedside manner needs some work. At the end of the visit, he told me to walk to the car. He told me i needed to walk some but let my pain be my guide. But I still couldn't put weight on it, and my crutches were in the car and I had no wheelchair. My son asked the lady up front to get me one. She came and saw me and ran away. The lady that does the billing got me a wheelchair and helped me out. Dr Ellis saw me and just stared at me. He watched me hobble and almost fall and did nothing. I have all kinds of lower back and knee issues, which I told him. I will not return. That is the one of my worst ER experiences. Not to mention, now in what you sign you are responsible for any left over balance no matter how expensive. It's no longer about the patient but the money. It is sad and morally wrong. If you want to get done right, go somewhere else.

Terrible staff, I’m a sickle cell patient with the full blown disease and also a history of a dvt…explained to the doctor about my condition and how I’m feeling and if I can get either blood work or ct scan just to be on the safe side and make sure it’s not more than a sickle cell crisis….was told that from Dr. Olufadejimi (Jimmy) Kareem they cannot do any service because they need a reason to draw blood or do a ct scan and apparently based on how I look or my condition that is not a valid reason to do so….this is by far the worst experience and hospital I ever came across. Also, I’ve been waiting for almost two hour for my discharge paperwork after being denied of the service I asked for. Keep in mind I reached to the hospital at 1:30pm and leave at 6:00, for my discharge paperwork to say diagnosis: encounter for screening, unspecified this is crazy spoke to the nurse asked her about my diagnosis which she told me having the doctor speak to me is the screening, never heard of that.

We chose this hospital because of the great reviews and awards for joint replacement and we were not disappointed. The facilities are great and the environment and care was excellent. We would highly recommend this facility for joint replacement. The staff is efficient, kind and knowledgeable, from the receptionist, intake, nurses, assistants and physical therapists.

My wife is going home tommorrow after back surgery.

From the time we arrived and were greeted at the first desk, our experience has been fantastic.

The surgical intake guy was kind and patient. The preop nurse (with a foster child and rescue animals) showed love to calm my wife. I wish I had their names.

Donna in recovery made my wife comment how great she was.

Then we reached the 4th floor. 10 stars to the nurses and techs. Rebecca, Tiffany, Kayla, Rachel, Victoria and the 2 I can't remember the names.

Than the Pt lady and man. Megan (so loving) and Alphonso. Alphonso said he wasn't rich but I disagree. He is rich in care, love for others and spirit.

The dietary ladies were good too.

I have experienced many days in hospitals with parents and friends. This by far was the most comprehensive best care I have seen.

-5/10...do not recommend. They may be great for joint surgery, but their ER is the worst in the area. BTW, their Triage Charge is $74.00.

All they did was take my temperature, BP, and asked maybe 5 questions and then tell me to wait. They completely disregarded the fact that I could barely walk. So after 20 mins of waiting in excruciating pain, I went to Piedmont ER. I was given drugs to help ease the pain while I waited. I was in and out in like 30-40 mins. Piedmont ER is a master class in triage. Piedmont cares about their patients. It is clear that JH hospitals only care about profit.
