Great experience all around. The young woman at the front of the hospital is amazing. She helped me one day and then my mother the next. She was so kind and informative and didn’t hesitate to help us when we needed it. The lab was great as well. Great hospital!

My granddaughter taken to this ER by the parents because they witnessed choking like episode and unresponsive. Also they said she had turned blue. When they arrived at the ER. Of course they were upset but my daughter in law could clearly communicate accurate account of what happened. But who ever the dummy was acting as physician, NP or whatever he is decided to try to make her feel inadequate or not a good mother. I arrived 30 minute later , my granddaughter then had oxygen sat 99%, heartrate was 190. I questioned does she have fever. Her heartrate 190. Male nurse responded , oh that's normal. She also was awake but not responding. They did a finger stick she did not cry. But again male nurse said she's fine. And I think my daughter in law said she's still not herself. Long story short if the dummy acting as a physician would have actually listened to parents he would have realized she had a seizure and that was why she wasn't responding. But he tried to make parents feel stupid when actually he was the stupid one. He never checked a cbc or a physical assessment or he would have caught double ear infection. But instead wrote on discharge instructions mom to take cpr might save a life. How about, you stop working in ER that will save a life because truly your assessments skills are none. I give it a 1 star because everyone else was great except for the dummy in charge of writing the orders and the pitiful male nurse who said 190 heartrate was normal. As soon as her pediatrician saw her that morning. She had double ear infection and white count over 30,000. FYI mother is CPR
certified. She did what she was taught to do and then went to nearest Emergency Facility.

Jenkins County Medical Center is clearly NOT an emergency department where you want to take your child. My daughter and son in law took my 18 month old granddaughter who was unresponsive with blue lips. My granddaughter had run fever earlier that night and was given ibuprofen. I do need to say that she has been given ibuprofen many times before. When I got to the ER, she was lying on the examining table, just limp and so pale. She showed no emotion or made any sounds or movements, but she was tracking us with her eyes. Her oxygen sats were normal, but her heart rate was 190! I asked what the normal heart rate for an 18 month old was, and was told that was normal. (FYI: 80-130 is normal for this age). I kissed her and stated that she felt warm and was told her temp was 99.3 when she was brought in. The nurse stated that he believed she had a reaction to the ibuprofen and they could not give her anything for fever as the ibuprofen was probably still in her system. As I later found out, my daughter had given her ibuprofen at 8:00 pm the night before and this was at 5:00 am when I asked about treating her fever, 9 hours later! We were also told her ears were clear...no infection there. The "doctor" came in and stated he couldn't find anything wrong with her and that she was in "perfect health"...as she laid motionless on the exam table and did not flinch or cry when her finger was pricked! Again, we stated that she felt very warm and my husband had to finally just tell them to take her temperature again. The thermometer read 99.6, which is actually 100.6 as it was taken under her arm. So her fever had risen while being there and they were typing the discharge papers for her to be released and stating in there that her mother needs to be CPR trained...in which she is!!! Upon discharge, we took her to her pediatrician at Medical Specialists in Waynesboro. Dr Kinsey examined her thoroughly, asked my daughter several questions, had a complete blood count done, and swabbed her for flu and COVID. He stated my grandaughter had ear infections in both ears. Just 4 hours earlier, both ears were clear at JCMC! The CBC came back with her white blood cell count as 31,000...normal range for her age is around 10,000. He also told us that she could have possibly had a febrile seizure caused by a spike in her temperature, which explains all of the symptoms my daughter was trying to relay to the "doctor" on call. Dr Kinsey immediately ordered a Rocephin injection to fight her infection and sent us to the Burke County ER for further lab work. He also wanted follow up with him today and tomorrow. What a difference in the quality of care! Thank you Medical Specialists and Burke Health for caring for my granddaughter!

My daughter was unresponsive and her lips were blue: we rushed to JC medical center in my hometown and when we got there they were attentive, but they basically questioned me saying she was responsive . She was not crying but stating off in space . They would not test her for anything . The lady nurse was the one who was the most attentive to her needs but the doctor already types of discharge papers before we even left . My father had to make them check her temp again and check her ears because they didn’t even do that/ a they told me she was I. Perfect health. I went to her pediatrician in waynesboro who was very thorough , listened to my concerns and didn’t tell me I needed education . I know my child, I’m with her everyday. When something is wrong, I know something is wrong. She ended up having an EAR INFECTION which led her to have a febrile seizure because of her spiked fever. Thanks Burke county for caring for my babygirl!

My experience at the JCMC Physical Therapy was excellent. Everyone is so nice and Anette is extremely knowledgeable and attentive to my specific needs. She always checks to make sure I’m okay and suggests stretches and activities to do at home to support my work with her. Great place for PT and I highly recommend it.
