This review is mainly for the Vision Center eye exam cost.

Staff here is good, just like most vision centers. However, they charge $477 for routine eye exam for a Kaiser member. Even Kaiser's cost estimate says the fee for this service is only $165, and so I was expecting to pay maximum $200.

I was billed hundreds more than Kaiser's estimate, and hundreds more than the amount most reasonable vision centers charge.

So far, I am unable to find a direct phone number for Kaiser's Vision Center in Porte Ranch to find out if they made a billing mistake. I may just end up paying for it.

The facility and doctors are excellent. But the electric vehicle charging spots are always taken up by gasoline powered vehicles and it’s always the same vehicles. Management need to do a better job at telling their employees not to park their gasoline cars in EV charging location at the front of the building

6/27/2024 - I like this Kaiser Permanent location. Staff are very friendly.

Due to the skilled labor shortage, my doctor's new prescription was rejected by Woodland Hills online ordering system. I called this KP online to order my new medicine and was confirmed as a new prescription and was asked to pickup the order on last Friday, 6/21/2024. When I arrived there to pick up my medicine on 6/24/2024, I was told that I am not eligible to get it until I told the pharmacist that my doctor has increased my dosage 50%. Yes, within seconds, my new prescription order was issued, but I had to wait for almost 25 minutes to get my medicine. See the long waiting line in the uploaded photo for details.

I cannot recommend Doctor Wong highly enough. From the moment I stepped into his office, I was met with kindness, professionalism, and genuine care. Doctor Wong takes the time to listen attentively to your concerns and explains every step of the diagnosis and treatment process in a clear and reassuring manner.

Front desk is extremely unhelpful. When patients are dealing with intense pain the front desk refuses to help give us any useful information. Even though we had an appointment, don’t come here if you’re ever in pain, no empathy, no help, nothing.

The new Kaiser office is very nice and new. It's very open and is not sterile and imposing. They put a lot of effort into making this office "pretty" with their waiting area and glass windows everywhere. They have a lot of self check in kiosks right as you enter, then a person standing off to the side for even faster check ins. There is a receptionist there who will also check you in. The lines weren't long and the wait in the lobby was not long. You'll get a text when they're ready to see you, or your name will shop up on the board. The 5 stars were for the building alone. The wait time and the doctor were different stories. It didn't take me long to get in the room, however the wait for the doctor was almost an hour. When I saw the doctor, he absolutely was uninterested in what was wrong with me and seemed bored by my symptoms. I like the new office, but the doctor left much to be desired.

The quality of care is ok if you choose a good doctor. They have a lot of bad ones though. I was once here with difficulty in breathing and the doctor literally told me “you know you can breathe with your mouth” with a dumb face.

Recently, they keep you waiting more. They apologize but they always do it. I am not sure what is the appointment reason then you have to wait 1 hour every time to see a doctor.

Rude greeting at Port Ranch Kaiser location. The greeter wasn’t helpful and quite pushy. My wife wasn’t permitted to get flu and Covid vaccines at PR and was rudely told no, only flu shot with no other options. And the greeter at the door never offered to help schedule the Covid shot but just rushed us away from the door. As 20 year member, I was dissatisfied and disappointed with this experience.
