Well what can I say !!!! About this amazing Labor and Delivery team at San Leandro. I delivered two babies at this medical center. First of all thanks a lot for admitting me twice for my 1st and. 2nd baby . Love the team over here especially how they treated their patients coming to me they took care of me during the labor and after the delivery which is postpartum. During the induction phase the nurses and the midwife were amazing told me each and every step they were trying to do and when we moved to the labor and delivery room . There were two nurses named Elizabeth’s just focused on me and my baby in the womb making sure to get the heart beat monitor set up and continues monitoring , they even gave me some juices and be broth. Well once I moved to postpartum I can’t even THANK ENOUGH. The postpartum team at Kaiser is one the best I had ever seen. Amazing service by the night shift Nurses and Doctors . Since I had baby and was hungry due to feedings the nurses got me food whenever I asked them and made sure my health was set right before I leave the hospital with the new born. All I wanted to say is how amazing the day and night shift Nurses and Doctors work taking care of each and every patient who are in need.
THANK YOU KAISER FOR HIRING SUCH A GREAT TEAM OF PEOPLE. Amazing Job !!!

Took my daughter to ER tonight. Security guard seemed to racially profiling who to have walk through scanner and check purses. Then proceeded to want me to leave my items with her. Yet allowed every African American patient to walk through without checking. Only seemed to be stopping Hispanics and other races. Wouldn’t allow my husband to enter the ER even though the patient is our child. The security guards here seem to be on some type of power trip. Been a Kaiser patient my entire life and the Fremont, Oakland and even other Bay Area locations never treat patients this way.

Dr. Judy is one of the best physicians I’ve ever had the pleasure of caring for me. She has an extraordinary memory and wide breath of knowledge but also extremely extensive follow up skills. She remembers personal details that show beyond a doubt how she really cares. KAISER is very lucky to have her on their staff

This was my first appointment with Dr. Judy Chang-Witt, and my experience exceeded expectations! She is both thorough and efficient, super smart and so kind. I appreciate her gentle, calming voice. She listened to me and systematically addressed all my concerns, ordered labs, referred me to Physical Therapy (PT), and even printed my doctor’s note all within 20 minutes. I underwent my blood tests immediately after our visit. The next day (!), she messaged me with my lab results and further instructions. I have scheduled my PT Appointments and look forward to working with my Kaiser providers to maintain and even improve my health in 2025. I am someone who tries to avoid attending medical appointments. Dr. Chang-Witt inspires me to prioritize my health, and I’m so glad she’s my doctor! Kaiser is very lucky to have recruited her.

I love that Kaiser is always on top of their service and a breeze for me. From making online appointments, checking in to see the doctor(Dr Kenneth is so nice and caring), the staff and the pharmacy. I even had to ask Dr Ken for a blood lab test last minute and it was done in less than half hour. Though there was a long line, and a lot of people, it didn’t take that long for me. It was my annual check up, got 2 vaccines, blood work, pick up meds at pharmacy and it was done in about less than 90 minutes. Kaiser has a spectacular systematic process that’s why it’s always a smooth process for me. Great job. Keep it up! ☝🏼👏

I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction and concern regarding the treatment my family and I received during a recent visit to your Emergency Room. my husband, three-year-old daughter, and I arrived at the ER at approximately 6:00 a.m. My daughter and I were experiencing severe vomiting, and I had a burning sensation in my chest, profound weakness, and difficulty breathing.

From the moment we arrived, the care and attention we received were substandard and distressing. Here is an account of the issues we faced:
1. Inadequate Initial Assistance:
• Upon arrival, the receptionist began taking our information and vitals. During this time, a nurse rolled me into another room to take my vitals while I was actively vomiting and in visible pain. She repeated questions already answered with the receptionist, despite my struggle to communicate due to vomiting and crying from the pain.
2. Lack of Basic Support:
• My husband, covered in vomit from assisting our daughter, was offered no assistance or even basic supplies such as napkins to clean himself. It was disheartening to see this lack of care in an ER setting.
3. Severe Delay in Care:
• Despite repeatedly complaining about chest pain and difficulty breathing, I fainted in a wheelchair within 20 minutes of arriving. It was only after this incident that I was placed in a room.
4. Lack of Privacy and Comfort:
• I regained consciousness to find myself partially undressed without being informed or given privacy. My room lacked an emergency call button, and multiple staff members entered and exited to retrieve items, showing no regard for my dignity or comfort. Despite asking for a pillow and blanket multiple times, I was only given a blanket hours later, seemingly as an afterthought.
5. Unacceptable Delays for My Daughter:
• My three-year-old daughter was not seen until 11:30 a.m., over five hours after our arrival, despite her distress. Her evaluation was rushed and lasted less than an hour.
6. Discharge Delays:
• After speaking with a doctor (who did not introduce themselves), I waited over an hour for discharge paperwork before ultimately deciding to leave due to frustration and lack of communication.

Additionally, I witnessed a receptionist informing other patients of a 10-hour wait time, leading some to leave out of frustration. Shockingly, I heard comments such as, “I guess you’re not that sick,” which displayed a lack of empathy and professionalism.

As a professional who works in hospitals across the Bay Area, I am appalled at the level of care my family received. The lack of urgency, compassion, and professionalism exhibited by staff was unacceptable. This experience has profoundly shaken my confidence in your facility and its ability to provide adequate care.

I request that you address the following:
• A review of the practices and behaviors of the staff involved during our visit.
• Implementation of proper training to ensure compassionate and efficient patient care.
• An explanation of why there was such a significant delay in care for both myself and my toddler.

This experience has compelled me to consider changing my insurance provider and seeking care elsewhere. I trust that you will take my concerns seriously and take steps to prevent others from enduring similar treatment.

Nurse Practitioner De Leon was very knowledgeable, attentive to my concerns, ordered several relevant procedures to further explore my situation. She was also quick to respond to my chest x-ray results.
