I had a very disappointing experience with this dental office. I scheduled an appointment six months in advance specifically for a teeth cleaning, which I clearly stated at the time of booking. However, upon arrival, I was informed that my appointment would last two hours and include X-rays and mouth photos—none of which were mentioned beforehand.

When I explained that I only wanted a cleaning, the hygienist consulted with Dr. Khanani, who then informed me that these additional procedures were a requirement—not for insurance purposes, but for their office policy. While I agreed to the X-rays, I declined the mouth photos, as I was only interested in a cleaning at that time. When I asked why these procedures were mandatory, Dr. Khanani responded that they "build trust."

I expressed my frustration that this policy was not disclosed when I scheduled my appointment. Rather than accommodating my request for just a cleaning with X-rays, I was asked to leave.

If you value transparency and patient-centered care, I would not recommend this office. Their priorities seem to lie more in what they can bill to insurance rather than in meeting patients' individual needs.

Hello Susan, my team and I were saddened that your appointment did not go the way either of us wanted it to go. I am sorry if it was not conveyed to you when you scheduled your new patient appointment that our office does not simply offer "just cleanings" - our practice offers a comprehensive approach and is centered around addressing any dental/cosmetic concerns our patients have, educating our patients on what we see, and then creating a path towards optimal dental health. In order for us to do that, we need the appropriate diagnostic records, such as a full set of x-rays and photographs. All of our new patients go through the same process. We can’t simply offer only a cleaning to our patients without assessing the entire mouth.
In regards to your statement about “what they can bill to insurance” – we don’t even charge for the photographs. It is a wonderful tool for us to show our patients what we see. It is very tough to get an understanding of your oral health from black and white x-rays, so photographs do an excellent job of allowing us to convey what we see to our patients, which ALL of our patients appreciate. That is what builds trust – an honest and open discussion.
If you are looking for a practice that offers the bare minimum to their patients with only cleanings, we are not the place. We take pride in the excellent care and transparency we provide to our patients and are honored by the years of amazing relationships we have fostered amongst our patients. I wish you the absolute luck in finding your new dental home.

I appreciate your response, but transparency and excellent care should have begun at the time I scheduled my appointment or, at the very least, been disclosed in the paperwork I completed and submitted prior to my visit. An "honest and open discussion" is only meaningful when patients are fully informed before they walk through the door, not after the fact.

As I stated in my review, the only consent I did not give was for photographs to be taken. The way this was handled does not build trust—it erodes it. I am not looking for "the bare minimum" but for a dental team I can feel confident in, and unfortunately, my experience did not reflect that.

I had a pleasant experience yesterday. I was welcomed very nicely, as a patient who asked to be taken on as a new patient. A very thorough examination has also helped me to understand what I should have done and plans were set up to do so. Thank you especially to Dr, Khanani, Kristen and Joy.

My first visit at Khanani Dental exceeded my expectations. Even upon walking in I was greeted by first name by a friendly receptionist. My hygienist, Paula was super kind and friendly and knowing it had been awhile since my last dental visit, immediately put any anxieties at ease by walking through everything in detail and made me feel very comfortable! Dr. Khanani was also extremely kind, friendly, and professional. He explained my options without pushing any procedures on me. I honestly have not had a better experience at a dentist office. Highly recommend!!

I searched for a while after my dentist sold his practice with no notice to patients or employees. I found many positive reviews about Khanani Family Practice in my local Facebook group.
I waited over 6 mos for a first appt. which
I considered a good sign. I had a very thorough 2 hour first visit which covered a deep dive into my oral health. I was very comfortable and happy with Kirsten and Dr. Khalani's care. I look forward to continuing my care with them.

This dental practice really has it all together. From setting up my first visit, to my greeting by Pablo at the front desk to my initial intake with Paula a most professional dental hygienist. Afterwards I met with Dr S Khanani who patiencely addressed my dental concerns. His practice is equipped with the latest dental technology which promises to make future appointments go quicker by reducing the number of followup visits needed for dental work.
I'm mobility challenged and should mention that both Joy and Pablo from the front desk helped me exit the office and walked with me to my car.

Khanani Family Dental is top notch, they will not disappoint! All staff members from administrative to hygienist to Doctor have extraordinary customer service skills. The professional atmosphere and personable service is like having a Ritz Carlton experience but your not on vacation your at the dentist! You feel genuinely cared for and everyone is transparent. I can't recall ever being thanked for becoming a patient at any other medical office but that is how Dr. Khanani and his team rolls. I rarely give 5 stars but if I could I would give this group 10. I'm looking forward to my next visit.
