Dr. Williams of EAMC’ ER in Opelika, Al is probably the most unprofessional doctor I’ve ever met. She shows no compassion whatsoever. My mother was brought to the ER on February 10, 2018. Dr. Williams suggested my mom be taked home after she recommended my Mom being discharged. Only after threatening a lawsuit, Dr. Williams admitted my mother. The ER ran blood tests, pelvic exam, and a CT scan. I would think with all the tests, Dr. Williams would see my mom wasn’t well. After being admitted, Dr. Roberts found bacteria in her urine and red blood cells. I’m very disappointed and saddened Dr. Williams and her staff couldn’t find the cause of my Mom’s condition. I find Dr. Williams to be very rude, non compassionate, and not very knowledgeable at her job.

I came in with a fever and extream pain in my back after being told by an urgent care that I had a kidney infection. They told me to go to the ER if my pain flaired back up in fear that it could be something more serious. Talking to Dr. Williams was almost as upsetting as the pain that brought me in. She showed no compassion or empathy to me as a patient, however she did put on a nice show when I got my mom on the phone. I asked her to explain what was going on and when she couldn’t do that her exact words were “I’m a physician not a magician.” As much as I respect her knowledge, I believe that comment was not appropriate to give to a young woman crying in pain - and maybe as a physician it would be her job to explain to me why I was in so much pain. There were a lot of things that seemed to slip through the cracks as many of my concerns went completely unacknowledged. I said I had a fever that was a little over 100 (sorry I don’t know the exact decimal point): she replied that they only concern themselves with fevers over 100.6. I had said I was vomiting from pain: this was chalked up to “possible emotional stress”. I’m not sure if my age played a factor in the lack of bedside manner, but I received care and behavior that fell far short of my expectations. I am beyond disappointed by the “care” given to me by Dr. Williams.

Awesome caring doctor. Held my hand when I was scared, Came to X-ray with me and diagnosed my illness very quickly. Wish there were more like her.
