I was so impressed with the overall care and concern that I received from all personnel. From the time I checked in to my final release I have never received the care from everybody from the ER to the main hospital. Everyone treated me with friendless, care, and concern about my health. Everything that was done including all tests were very well explained to me. Also this hospital was very clean and even these personnel were so very friendly. You have a magnificent crew of personnel that really care about the job. Mt sincere thanks to everyone. It was much appreciated by me and my family.

I was in severe pain for 4 days and finally decided to go to ER. The staff was amazing! I was processed and in a bed within 10 minutes. My nurse was excellent and attentive. I had. CT scan and blood work within 90 minutes. I needed outpatient surgery which was performed within another hour. I was in and out with all tests and a minor surgery in less than 4 hours! Never have I had service in an ER like that in my life. Awesome job!!

I liked my visit and experience with La Palma Intercommunity Hospital. I waited almost 3 hours to be called but the wait was worth it. First, the waiting room was clean, it has a welcoming environment, clean, quiet and with comfortable chairs.
Finally, when I was called in the emergency room, the ambiance was good, clean, and everything looks in order. My bed smells really clean and sanitized. The staff nurse literally almost carried me out of the wheelchair to the bed. He comforted me, gave me two warm blankets and set up my bed to my comfort level.
The doctor was quick, and precise. She asked me questions while she examined me.
Within minutes, the nurse came back to let me know what meds the doctor had ordered for me.
Within minutes my nurse administered the injection, and gave me my medication.
When I pressed the call nurse buttoned, one of the staff nurse immediately showed up to attend to my needs. I didn’t have to wait for my assigned nurse. They have a very good team work.
Don’t like going to the hospital, but I need to be in the hospital, I’ll choose La Palma Intercommunity Hospital.

I’ve been taken my father to La Palma Intercommunity Hospital ER and due to his condition he always gets hospitalized. I’m very glad this hospital is close to our house. The care my father receives in this hospital starting from the ER to hospitalization to discharge is outstanding. We are very grateful to Dr Ayyad and Dr Kareem from previous hospitalization of my father for their outstanding care, their patience with us the family, their professionalism, their politeness and friendless. We are also very grateful to the wonderful nurses who did their best to keep my father comfortable. I wish I could name them all. Although I don’t wish anyone to be sick bug I highly recommend this hospital.

Unfortunately one of the hospitals with the worse communication not only amongst care team but also communication to family members. No one was able to answer my questions, while in their care my father aspirated his vomit and developed a pneumonia. Despite me asking 5 days in a row to talk to a Dr I was never able to talk to anyone, they kept my dad in this hospital for over 5 days was not even hooked or monitored even though he was at fall risk. Most nurses are kind but definitely should be more knowledgeable they also seem overworked.

FRUSTRATED & DISAPPOINTED

In a state of urgency, I was rushed to the hospital by ambulance after work. Upon arrival, I had to wait in the emergency room on a gurney for over an hour. After being admitted to the small emergency room, I encountered dismissive nurses who seemed to ignore my severe pain. They obtained a urine sample and blood, but it took over an hour and thirty minutes to get pain medication. I reported chest, abdominal, and back pain that was excruciating, a ten on a scale of ten, but the nurses repeatedly dismissed it as anxiety. Despite my insistence, they conducted CT and abdominal ultrasound examinations. The chest CT scan attendant was particularly rude. The doctor Ghalib M Wahidi, diagnosed me with a fatty liver and advised me to lose weight. He gave me his card with his private practice information and prescribed weight loss drugs. I was then discharged from the hospital.

Within fifteen minutes of my discharge, I was called back to the emergency room because the abdominal ultrasound results were abnormal. It revealed appendicitis, and I was re-admitted to the ER. Turns out I DID NOT have a fatty liver. An IV line and antibiotics were administered. The nurse apologized for my previous discharge and informed me that an outside radiologist had reviewed the abdominal ultrasound report. However, my medical records showed that two different radiologists had confirmed appendicitis before my discharge.

I was subsequently admitted to a three-bed room for surgery on December 24th. The night nurse in the unit was rude and told my mother that she wasn’t allowed to stay. I requested pain medication, but the nurse said it might take a while for the doctor to respond. I kept emphasizing that my pain was a ten on a scale of ten. The IV line kept malfunctioning, and the nurse told me to stay still because the IV insertion was causing discomfort.

On the day of surgery, the surgeon led me to the preoperative area and explained the procedure in detail. However, the preoperative nurse informed me that the incorrect weight had been recorded, and the Dr. Ahmad even said I couldn’t possibly be the weight she had indicated. Throughout the process, I was repeatedly advised to stop expressing anxiety, even though I tried to explain that the pain was real. The anesthesiologist, Vicki, was rude and unprofessional.

This overall experience left me profoundly disappointed. I am still recovering emotionally from the mistreatment and lack of care and consideration I received. The unsolicited rudeness of the nurses, the incorrect diagnosis, and the mishandling of my condition all contributed to an unsatisfactory experience. Had it not been for the intervention of the external radiologist, my appendix would have ruptured. I sincerely hope that others who may find themselves in a similar situation will be treated with compassion and understanding.

The medical staff was awesome, they were friendly and helpful despite the place being packed. We especially appreciated the nice lady who did the X-ray for proactively bringing my dad a blanket when everyone else was busy.

The only unfortunate exception was the older front desk lady that was quite unfriendly and borderline rude...one star off of an otherwise 5 star experience.
