Today was the first day that my mom was a resident at Lawndale Healthcare Center.
All of the staff that we met were kind and caring. There were many questions from both sides on intake. The staff took their time and were friendly and engaging. They were understanding about my mom’s poor hearing.

We got my mom settled in and she was comfortable. Her bed was near a big double window, so she could watch what was going on outside. This facility was not fancy. It is an Medi/Medi facility and similar to other similar level skilled nursing homes.

The things we liked that are not at all such places, were that each bed had a small TV at the foot, with cable channels. There was also free WiFi for the resident and guests. There was a free parking lot in the back. Along one side was a yard with grass, a gazebo, and raised planter beds.

Only time will tell if this facility will be a good fit for my mom, and so far it seems promising.

The staff was pleasant, very efficient in welcoming visitors and getting them registered. The facility was very clean. Residents were out of their rooms engaged in various activities. The nurses were courteous. The Administrator was an amazing young man who took me on a tour of the facility, and I observed how affable he was with the patients. It's truly a home away from home.

I was given a list of facilities by the hospital for my uncle. It was his first time at a nursing home and it was crucial we found the best option for him. At first glance we noticed it was clean and no smell as we toured the building.
Everyone seemed so personable and understood the big decision we had to make. I also enjoyed seeing how the nurses interacted with the patients.

I met in the admissions office with Justin and Brenda who provided me with peace of mind on my choice of facility, I was even able to meet the administrator Yitzi.
I definitely would recommend them to any family looking for a safe and family oriented facility.

I am grateful for these type of facilities to care for our loved ones. My mother happens to be at the Lawndale Health and Wellness Facility in Lawndale. For the most part, the staff is good. I make it a point to visit regularly, and I speak with the staff, and I try to attend the functions that they have for the residents. My biggest problem is that my mother's clothes and a seat cushion have come up missing. I realize that their responsibilities are many, but they have to treat the residents with respect, just like they're their own family! I give them 3 stars because there is room for growth. Keep up the good work.

My loved one is there very unhappy. Patients wandering around stealing. Food is pretty bad. Appointments for patients to see specialists, not made or follow through. This facility doesn't allow their patients to go visit family for special occasions, which makes the patients depressed. They are supposed to let patients out as long as the patients let them know ahead of time when and for how long. As long as it is no longer than 5 days, especially now that they are charging patients a share of the cost for staying there.

I gave them 1star because I had to in order to write this review. This facility is dirty and unkept. The employees from the Director to the CNAs and all others in between are uncaring, unprofessional, lack empathy, and all other qualities needed to work with the elderly residents who reside in their facility. I placed my mother there, who suffers from Dementia, for 2 1/2 days before I removed her due to lack of care from the caregivers. In that short period of time my mother received a bed sore on her bottom, tears on her stomach, and body pains from being handled roughly!! When I came to take her home, I was met with negativity and hostility as if I was kidnapping my own mother!! This facility was sold to us by one of their facility coordinators whose name I will not disclose, but don’t be deceived. I would not put my enemy in the care of these people. The facility needs to be remodeled and a whole new group of employees with caring hearts, needs to be hired.

This place is just fantastic! When we toured the facility, we were there for over an hour! They gave us their time and answered every single concerns and question, patiently and with a smile. You can really glean a lot about a nursing home from looking, listening and speaking with the residents. We did all of that and were very impressed with the staff, the cleanliness and the whole atmosphere of the place. We chose Lawndale Healthcare and haven't looked back.
