I cannot express enough gratitude for David, the incredible veterinary tech who went above and beyond during a recent scare with my dog. My furry friend managed to sneak half a cooked rotisserie chicken while I was unloading groceries from the car. Worried about the larger bones, I rushed to the vet, and that's where David's expertise shone through.

David went as far as to dissect the remaining half of the chicken with his hands, carefully assessing whether any of the larger bones had been ingested. His thoroughness and dedication provided immense peace of mind during a very stressful situation. His calm demeanor and professional approach made all the difference. I am deeply grateful for the exceptional care and highly recommend Madison Veterinary Emergency services to anyone in need. Thank you, David, for your extraordinary help!

& to top it all off, the Dr. Herself out of pure kindness gave me a follow-up call shortly after my visit. These are professionals, and more obviously, REALLY great people.

I had a good experience with them on one of the worst days of my life. The team at Madison Veterinary Emergency were compassionate and fast acting. They gave me treatment options for Daisy (my 12 year old Jack Russell), but gave me realistic outcomes if we proceeded with treatment. I decided it was best to have my best friend euthanized and, although it was extremely tough and I am still grieving, I know it was the right choice. The team gave me as much time as I needed with her before, during, and after the euthanasia process and I am grateful for that.
The company that they used to have her cremated (PAWS Memorial Services) gave a lovely folder and urn along with a clay print of her paw. It was more expensive than just a visit to a regular veterinarian which is to be expected. An ER visit is more expensive than a trip to your family doctor, right? I don't really understand people in the reviews saying they charge too much. I felt they were reasonably priced for the services my pet and I received.

I just want to say thank you to Madison Veterinariany Emergency for taking such great care of my best friend. Every member of the team was great that night and the front desk person was so nice and compassionate when I picked up Daisy's remains today.

I’ve now been to here twice with my same trouble child. Both times the staff (everyone from the front desk, technical staff and doctors) were nothing short of amazing. As a veterinary technician myself I seem to loose all prior knowledge when it comes to my dogs. The staff was kind, answering any questions I had. They treated my girl like she was one of their own each time and you truly don’t get that everywhere. Highly recommend to anyone!

*Pet Loss* I took my cat Buddy to Madison Vet Emergency last Saturday after he was injured. He had multiple lacerations on his body. The vet tech told me he needed sutures on his belly and gave me an estimate of nearly $1,000. I specifically asked how do they know if he had any internal damage. She said based on examination, injuries were external to the soft tissue. Mind you, I never saw the actual vet and they never gave him an x-ray to rule out internal injury. The purpose of my question was to ensure I wasn’t about to pay $1,000 if the chance of survival was low. They proceeded with the surgery, and Buddy ended up with about 20 staples on his belly, as well as a few on his paw and elbow. I brought Buddy home and then found him dead Sunday night. When I called to inform them, the lady on the phone did not even say she was sorry for our loss. She proceeded to tell me cost of cremation. I asked for other resources and she said cremation was my only option. I had to wake up my 10 year old son to tell him his sweet guy had passed away. Needless to say, I refused to give them a single dollar more so I took Buddy somewhere else for cremation that was half the price of what they were going to charge. I ended up taking him to Berry Animal Hospital, whom I highly recommend. Included in the low price was Buddys ashes, a leather bound book with his paw prints, and a small glass vile with some of his fur as a keepsake. I do not recommend Madison Vet Emergency due to the lack of compassion, as well as not providing thorough care or allowing me to understand options when it came to chances of survival versus paying $1,000 for a procedure that ultimately ended in his untimely death.

We had to bring our dog Gracie in a couple of weeks ago when symptoms from her cancer took a turn a little quicker than we expected. On one of the hardest days any pet parent could have, the entire team attending that night was truly so caring and compassionate as we said goodbye to our girl Gracie.

I have nothing bad to say about this place. When we first got our poodle we had to come in because she had gotten into some medication for blood pressure. When first arriving the front desk lady was super kind and after being took back the tech and the doctor attempted to get a blood pressure on my pup and just couldn't. With that being said we didn't get charged that fee and got reassured that she would be okay. Then this past week my pup got spayed and we ended up having to take her due to constant vomiting and not eating or drinking. We went in the first time and got a IV so she could get fluid. They offered lab work, X-Rays, and etc. We denied that the first time and took her back home and she continued to to be lethargic. We brought her back that night to get X-rays and immediately got answers. The doctor came in explained the whole stomach to us and explained she would need surgery due to a blockage. The tech came in and explained the whole breakdown of cost and answered any questions. After the surgery the doctor called and told us she was going to discount the surgery since she was just reopening the same incision from her spayed surgery. These people saved my dog and me. With constant reassurance and answering my thousands of questions I can not say thank you enough. I will always recommend them and will go back if I ever need.

Unfortunately, I had a very bad experience at this hospital. Me and my girlfriend brought our puppy in after having very bad shakes and trouble staying awake. When we brought her in the people were very rude and pushy. The tech taking care of us was being very impatient on waiting for us to pay, she also wouldn’t allow us to ask questions about the price or services and got angry at us for doing so. The only pleasant person we encountered was the doctor, Dr. Shannon she was very helpful and polite. All the techs were very impolite and pushy and only seemed to be there for the money. 0/10 Will not be coming back.

I am SO thankful for this emergency veterinary! My dog had an injury close to midnight, and they were the only emergency clinic open anywhere close to where I live. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and patient. They soothed my sweet dog and myself during her emergency. The clinic was incredibly clean as well, I was impressed and cannot recommend them enough!
