I just had kidney cancer surgery and was astonished by the level of service and kindness afforded to me. From the nice man upon first arrival at the information area to all the doctors, nurses and attendants providing me with compassionate care, understanding and help, before during and after my surgery.
Dr. Wang my surgeon, and all the other doctors, nurses, nutrition people and attendants.
Thank You

My brother had a condition and my family and I brought him to ER back in November. He is special needs and it is hard for him to communicate what is wrong. He spent 24 hours in the ER. The day time nurse was great. The night time nurse was okay to my brother but rude to me. He was eventually got brought up to the neurology floor. There he had a neurology team and a psychiatric team to help him. He spent about 2 months here. The nurses/pca are unbelievably great here. They were so kind to my parents and I during this difficult time. They made sure to give the best care to my brother. The doctors were very thorough and made sure we knew what was going on. They were so knowledgeable. He also worked with OT/PT too. They were amazing as well and helped with different goals he needed to achieve. All in all my family and I had a good experience with this hospital during a difficult time. I would highly recommend this hospital!

I had the privilege of being seen by Dr. Alister Martin in the ER, and I cannot express how grateful I am for his care. From the moment I arrived, I felt heard and understood. He took the time to listen to my concerns and was incredibly patient throughout the entire process.

Dr. Alister Martin answered all of my questions with clarity and compassion, which made me feel more at ease despite being in a vulnerable state. He provided me with a clear plan and, after feeling completely exhausted, I left the hospital with a sense of relief and hope.

The impact of his care was immediate—after days of not being able to eat or sleep, I was able to enjoy a meal as soon as I got home. I truly feel so much better and cannot thank him enough for making such a difference during a difficult time.

The phone systems that support incoming calls to MGH are a complete travesty. People's lives are in the balance of this system and it is nearly impossible to obtain accurate information (even recordings have inaccurate fax numbers). I retrieved 4 different fax numbers for MGH Gastroenterology and 3 of them were inaccurate. I had to contact Patient Advocacy to get support -- this took 3 phone calls, where with each, I was transferred at least 3 times. How can anyone, especially someone who works in the business of people's health, think this is efficient or of high care? I understand this is the responsibility of the Information Technology team at MGH -- I wonder if they realize the gravity of such poor design. I also wonder if they understand the importance of training the MGH employees who have to deal with this system. If I was a senior citizen or someone of lesser tenacity, I would never have completed my task with MGH (to get care) because of this confusing, inadequate, error-prone calling system. Do better, MGH Information Technology. It's a shame that this phone system is the front face of all the good, talented, hardworking people who work for MGH.

If I could provide 0 stars to this institution I would.

They felt that they could illegally detain, assault, and remove all of my personal belonging for challenging the forced medical advice from them of receiving a second opinion from their doctors.

I was then forced to pay almost $10,000 in bills from this institution.

I went to this institution after having an operation and having a number of very bad issues with moving implants. I went asking for help and was violated in the worst way.

If you do feel the need to go to this hospital, always take someone with you and be prepared for anything.

These people do NOT care about you as a patient, they only see statistics.

BE CAREFUL.

My Husband had colon rectal surgery last year, with Dr David Berger and his team. They saved my husband's life! A couple of days after surgery. His colon started to leak. He was rushed into surgery, where his colon was removed. He was in the I.C.U. He was very sick. While in their exceptional care. They discovered. He had Dermatomycitis(a auto immune disease) this was brought out due to the cancer. He lost all his muscle and strength. They also discovered he has a AA. a very serious cardiac artery issue! If it wasn't for the Doctors, nurses, N.P's, P.A's, therapists, N.A's, techs. Everyone that was responsible for my husband's care. We are going back on Friday for my husband to have lung surgery! We could of had the surgery closer to home. But we trust M.G.H.!
