I've been with Dr. McDermott for years now and can say he's a wonderful provider. I feel comfortable speaking with him and sharing my stressors and issues. I myself work in the mental health field and it takes its toll; he empathizes and understands and provides support without judgement. I never feel rushed and have enough time without it feeling like he's trying to push too much (I'm not a huge talker.) I'm thankful for him.

After speaking to the staff on the phone for weeks they said they were unable to confirm my insurance but instead of letting me know they just moved on called them every week and they still couldn't figure it out. After I finally was put on the schedule they called me back 15 minutes later to tell me the doctor didn't want to take my case and had no explanation other than he didn't want to do it, when he had no information on why I was going and why. It would have been nice to know that 6 weeks earlier when I have been trying and unsuccessfully get ahold of them. Trash place.

The 2023 Staff at the office are EXCEPTIONAL!!! Leah & Alex are competent, caring and patient oriented. Be patient as you are likely to need to leave a message as they take care of those in the office first and the phones second. Ivan Gossage is a first rate Nurse Practitioner who goes the extra mile for his patients!!!

I’ve mostly come to talk about Ivan Gossage who’s in this office. Ivan is probably one of, if not the best practician I’ve been to across all fields. He lets you speak, genuinely listens to what you have to say, provides you multiple options and scenarios, and is open to your own ideas, as well, while still giving your ideas his own professional thought and opinion. If you’re in need of a psychiatrist I couldn’t recommend him more. The office staff here is also friendly, kind, and laid back.

Dr Mcdermont has treated my ex husband for 12 years and is a great physician. We tried to have my daughter be seen by his partnering doctor(due to family history). We made an appointment two months ago (first available), my daughter drove over 1.5hrs to be told that the dr wasn’t there and that they didn’t have a phone number to contact her at. Yet, they have called me twice to gather insurance information and to confirm address. I tried to call them back and Linda was VERY rude and said “your daughter doesn’t want to be a patient here so I don’t have to talk to you” she then said to another woman in the background “this is that girls mom” to which the lady said, “hang up on her” Linda then said, “I don’t have to talk to you” and hung up on me. These people work with the mentally ill, people in crisis, depressed and bipolar. This is how they treat other humans in need? This is how. Yes handle their mistakes? Shame on you Dr M if this is how you allow your staff to treat people that have made you a rich man!

Dr. McDermott is AMAZING!! BUT his office staff is less than desirable. When my prescription needs to be refilled I cant get the older lady or the young kid to even answer my calls, return my calls or send my prescription info to the doctor to be filled. I really miss Linda. She ALWAYS had my stuff taken care of by the end of the day. She didnt even have to call me back cuz I would get a message from my pharmacy letting me know it was ready. (It was an agreement that her & I had cuz I knew how busy she was.) Not to mention, Linda was ALWAYS sooo polite & understanding. The other 2 weren't. The kid was always too busy talking on his cell phone or taking selfies to even answer the window or the phone. Very disappointed with this office now.

Dr. McDermott is an absolutely wonderful psychiatrist. His diagnosis, treatment, understanding, and support, have gone miles beyond anything I've ever gotten from any other medical professional. Before I met him I used to think I at the mercy of my mental illness and would be stuck in a minimum wage Job because I couldn't handle anything else, but in the years since I've seen McDermott that has flipped, I no longer fear the workplace as something I won't be able to handle, and I've been promoted to manager of my store. If life is rocky and you want a caring, smart, friendly, funny psychiatrist that will find the right meds, who meets with you and actually cares how you are doing, not just cares to keep you as a patient, McDermott is the doctor for you.

Very disappointed. I called before my referral was sent to ask if they were accepting new patients and they said yes. My primary doctor sent referral and they called and left message for me to schedule. I attempted to contact them for 3 weeks and they finally returned my call to say they are no longer accepting new patients. Wow unbelievable and disappointing.
