So I have been going to therapy for nearly 30 years due to a car accident back in 1994 where I tore everything in my left shoulder and cracked my chest bone. Went almost everyday for 2 1/2 years to many different locations out here in the Torrance/Redondo Beach area. While I lived in Lakewood my knee surgeon sent me to Medcessity and I completed my therapy and went back to work. Many years forward after a terrible spinal surgery they sent me to a great location a block away from my house. I wasn’t getting the stretch and time that I felt I needed. I requested to be transferred to Medcessity. It’s a 30-40 min drive and I usually do 4 hours a week for my hand and my shoulder/neck. This week I had one of the specialist drs conduct a test to check for Thorasic outlet syndrome and it hurt so bad. I am in constant pain so me saying it hurt means a lot. I have been taking my pain meds like M&ms normally 2x a day and after that test I have been taking every 5 hours. I was so excited to go to therapy today and my eyes leaked a little when I heard I was going to be seen by Courtney today. I knew I would be heading home with relief and properly stretched to the point I knew I would be able to sleep tonight. Don’t get me wrong they are all great therapists but Courtney and Emma are probably the newest and in my mind the best they take the time to ask how I am doing and what is going on with my neck and shoulder and take the time to switch up the therapy session and massage deep enough to where I can actually feel the relief and I always come home and knock out. I am in pain probably 98% of my day and with how I shake and how the meds slow me down I really appreciate that they take the time to listen to me and don’t just grab a roller and do the obligatory 3 minutes of therapy and then send me off to do my exercises

that is not worth the drive to me. Not working and not recieving any kind of aide sometimes I can’t even afford food or gas but I will forgo buying groceries so that I can drive out to therapy. That is how much my time at Medcessity means to me. I’m pretty sure the owners and management will see this I sincerely hope they will share and give Courtney and Emma the proper praise that they deserve and so all they can to make sure these Rockstars stay at Medcessity. Sure that’s a little bit of my selfish side cause I want to get better and although I know there is no bell to ring I want to someday say I am healed and give everyone a hug and a high five and go back to living again.
Omg I didn’t see that I could leave a review for the front desk also. Having said that I live in pain all day everyday and the medical system tends to cause frustration as drs just move you along and spend a few minutes not listening to you and then say okay see you in 4 months
. It’s always amazing to walk up to the door and open it and see the smiling faces at the front desk. It’s nice that even some of the physical therapy assistants rotate through the front desk but the core of Claudia Kat Silvia Maria
. Oooh pues sorry I can remember everyone else’s name right now I guess my meds are kicking in but trust me they all rock.

From our first visit we had the pleasure of working with Sachi. She is so sweet & very attentive. I loved how she made my Son feel comfortable and provided home workouts for him. She always has a smile on her face. I love her energy, patience and how encouraging she is for my Son to make a full recovery. Thank you Sachi!! You are awesome

I was repeatedly overcharged well beyond my copay, despite multiple attempts to have it corrected. It took working directly with a specialist at Anthem to obtain the necessary documentation and compel Medcessity to acknowledge the overcharges and issue a refund immediately. This process took well over a month's time and limited my ability to care and treatment. Meanwhile, they sent an additional bill to my home for even more money. This again caused great distress. When the Anthem specialist required them to specify the charges of this additional bill, Medcessity once again had to admit it was an overbill and excessive request.

This experience was deeply disheartening. A healthcare provider should prioritize patient well-being and advocate for their care—not create additional stress and financial burden. After discussing my concerns with my doctor, I chose to give Medcessity another chance, as I personally wanted to transition to a different therapist. Unfortunately, their administrative errors persisted, significantly limiting my ability to receive treatment and access care.

During a visit, the front office staff mentioned, "Well, your therapist doesn’t know why you haven’t been here for so long." The answer was simple: I was busy rectifying their many billing errors. The owner, Mr. Chen, was present but showed little to no empathy and was not honest with me. He claimed an authorization had been sent to my medical group, but when I asked for clarification, he was unable to provide any evidence that it had been submitted in a timely manner or sent at all. Once again, I had to request a refund for a service I did not receive today.

This entire ordeal has not only impacted my physical recovery but has also taken a toll on my overall well-being and mental health. Patients should never be treated this way or subjected to ongoing billing issues that create unnecessary distress. Had I not been astute and weeded through the very codes and details of each visit, I am positive Medcessity would still be sending bills and overcharging excessively. I have not received an apology by the owner.

I cannot, in good conscience, recommend Medcessity.

My Orthopaedic Surgeon recommended me and my husband for physical therapy at this place for our multiple problems in feet , ankle, legs, knees and shoulder.
Therapist Joshua Siva was entrusted to deal with all our problems. Day one, when my husband came over here he was on a walker and now he is able to walk independently. It’s really a miracle. Now few problems left but I’m confident, that too will be overcome by Joshua.
In the beginning my shoulder was frozen but now i am able to move it.
These wonderful results are possible only due to sincere efforts of Joshua who has a strong passion to implement manual therapy techniques in conjunction with functional therapeutic exercises.
We both have a deep appreciation for his skill and the sincerity, he has towards his duty.
We wish Joshua Siva good luck and great success in his career.

My Orthopadic Surgeon referred me to this place for my multiple problems of sever pain in joints such as ankles, feet, knees and shoulders and pain in the muscles of legs, thigh and shoulders.
I found this facility a great place of exceptional highly experienced and professionally oriented Therapists, They listen to your problems carefully and design such a plan of messaging and exercises that hit on problems start give relief to the patient.
I have great appreciation for the entire staff of this facility. Everyone including front desk staff are well cultured very well behaved. Best thing is zero waiting time. I wish them good luck and great success.

I was referred to Medcessity by my orthopedic surgeon after breaking two fingers. He recommended them very highly and I agree 100%. They are professional kind and very understanding. They listen to your concerns and take your input into consideration. All of the staff members are compassionate and very gentle. I would recommend them for PT or OT without hesitation!

I started coming to Medcessity for a shoulder problem I’ve had for a few years now. When I came in my shoulder was pretty tight and I had pain when I moved my arm in different directions. Over the last few months my range of motion has improved greatly and the pain has gotten a lot better through their sessions and stretching/exercise regiments I do at home. Melanie, Samantha and Josette were guiding my progress for the most part and took great care of me. They answered all of the questions I had during my appointments and were very nice. Everyone treated me well and I had a great experience while dealing with a bum shoulder.

Renewed patient! The staff here is good. It was a little warm inside the rooms and the main area. The chairs in front are awkwardly positioned if you use a wheelchair since you are supposed to check in but there's a row of chairs in front of the window, I witnessed someone come in & looked awkward to maneuver.
Be prepared to wait probably two weeks when scheduling.
