Update: In retrospect, we had one bad experience with the company. I changed to an 3 star review to be fair. I suppose my anger/frustration at being left high and dry in a time where I really needed their service upset me. They do provide a service that is necessary and helpful, but please be sure to confirm all scheduled times to avoid any errors.
Update: I appreciate that the company did provide me a refund and offer a free ride; however, that did not solve my problem on that day. By charging my credit card, the company created a contract saying they would abide by the terms of the quote. Sadly they did not because they didn't get the pick up time correct. Getting a bed bound individual to a doctor's appointment is not an easy task, and booking an expensive transport should ensure that the transport happens.
We wound up using Uber WAV (Wheelchair Assisted Vehicle) which was far more inexpensive. It's not available everywhere, but it is an option worth investigating if available in your area. The cost is the same as a regular Uber ride. I know everyone will not use it, but I would recommend looking into it for a lower cost alernativee that is available on call if available in your area. It cost about 1/3 what this company charged for a round trip.
Either way, this experience has soured me on the company and no amount of free offers (to arrive within an hour) will entice me to use them again. So my father was supposed to show up at the doctor's office two hours late in the hopes that they would see him. Does that make sense? How many doctor's offices are accomodating like that? Once again, let the buyer beware. We had a bad experience.
Original: Be wary of this service. We have used this service prior to this morning's fiasco with little issues. They weren't prompt on pick up, but they got my bed bound father to and from his medical appointments. Mind you, this service is not inexpensive.
That being said, the experience this morning was awful. We scheduled a pick up at 7:15 for an 8:15 appointment about 15 miles away. I scheduled it with that time due to traffic. So, at 7:25, there is no pick up, so I called the office and left a message since they were closed. At 7:35, I called again since time was getting tight. I did get a call back and the gentleman on the line said, "I'm sorry. We scheduled the pick up time incorrectly. It's in the system for 9:15. We'll refund your money and reschedule for another time."
My father is bed bound, suffers from vertigo, and doesn't do well on car trips. It's not easy to get him in his wheel chair. He has no use of his arms or legs, so it's not really easy to get him ready to go. And, it's not easy to get him to an appointment.
Thanks for nothing. I am never using this service again and caution you to think twice before using a service that's created for people who need specialized assistance to transport themselves to and from medical appointments.
I would ask the company to start sending out confirmation notices. The only confirmation I got was an email that said my credit card was charged. They even give you the option to tip before the service is completed. I tipped, but that didn't matter. Once again, all they care about is your money.
