Mercy needs to work better at their pain management procedure. We as patient's are not all the same some surgeries can be tougher than others. Nurses need to listen to their patients when they tell them they need to bring up the pain medication level before the nerve block wears off and they are now in a 10 pain range. To not keep the med doses on time and to make the patient wait an hour in pain is not acceptable. I had to threaten to call 911 and walk to the ER before the day nurse finally brought in medicine to bring my pain levels to acceptable management. The night nurse was perfect throughout her shift setting her timer as to not let me fall into severe pain again. So as for the night nurse job we'll done. The day nurse although very caring in voice just didn't listen to my needs therefore I lost my trust in her ability as a caregiver. My surgeon is and was awesome and I appreciate his hard work as I also appreciate the PA who works with him. Other things to mention is the room I was in was clean and quiet and the food they brought in was good. The supervisor RN that came in to look in on the situation the next day was very good and very professional and I appreciated the review based on my previous day. So thank you for all other support staff prior and following my surgery as they were all great. So I guess my only concern is the lack of my pain management following my surgery by the day shift nurse.

I have never felt more belittled and disregarded in a medical setting than I did at Mercy Hospital. My experience was nothing short of shocking, and I feel compelled to warn others about the appalling treatment I received.

From the outset, I was met with judgment and condescension. Dr. Rene Diamond, in particular, was dismissive and arrogant. She spent a grand total of two minutes speaking with me, and in that short time, I was made to feel as if my concerns and symptoms were irrelevant. Instead of offering thoughtful care, she seemed more interested in labeling me than actually listening to what I was going through.

Sadly, this wasn’t an isolated incident. Over the course of seeking treatment at Mercy Hospital, I have seen 4-5 different "doctors" from their network, and I can confidently say that they all shared the same mindset: judgmental, inexperienced, and completely uninterested in taking symptoms seriously. It’s as if their primary goal is to dismiss patients rather than help them. They made me feel like a burden for simply seeking care.

To make matters worse, Dr. Diamond had me placed on a psych hold with no valid justification. After just a brief interaction, she decided to take extreme action without any real understanding of my condition or concerns. It was an overreaction that felt entirely unnecessary and unjust.

Additionally, the way my medications were handled was both negligent and reckless. Dr. Diamond took me off vital medications without proper tapering, resulting in withdrawal symptoms that were not only uncomfortable but also dangerous. The lack of proper administration and the failure to account for withdrawal timing is inexcusable. Withdrawal can be life-threatening if not managed correctly, and her complete disregard for this made an already difficult situation much worse.

I am beyond disappointed in the care I received at Mercy Hospital. If you value your health, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere. I will never trust Mercy Hospital or Dr. Rene Diamond with my care again. Their lack of professionalism, combined with the consistent failure to take patients’ concerns seriously, has left me deeply unsettled.

THE ABSOLUTE WORST. In my nearly 45 years, I have NEVER had to make a formal complaint about a doctor. NEVER. In the last 4 months, I have had to make formal complaints about TWO different providers (one of which was a hair way from sexually inappropriate. When that complaint was made, I asked repeatedly what the repercussions would be, and was never given a direct answer).
Strike THREE (I can’t see any point making a formal complaint because it clearly doesn’t mean anything): I had an imaging test scheduled for two weeks for a pain that has left me unable to simply walk. Someone from billing called, told me it was not approved and repeatedly tried to get me to cancel the appointment right then so they could get another patient in (aka get paid sooner). I checked with my insurance company and this test is 100% covered in my plan, but the doctor failed to send in the authorization.

I delivered my son in December. And it was an amazing experience. Dr. Dittmeyer and team were amazing. He and his nurse explained things every step of the way. I was induced. The nurse Kristi was awesome. I told her I wanted to try unmedicated and she did everything she could to get me through that for it was not easy. The nurses in postpartum were great as well. They helped my husband while I was sleeping to learn how to swaddle and soothe baby.

No issues in schedule or timeliness of my exam. The Technologist was prepared and thoroughly professional. Outside I did have to walk farther than I thought to the entrance. After the exam I was given a van ride back to my truck. I like this hospital.

This pre-op experience was one of our best moments, over more than 15 years, in the Mercy system. Nurse Jennifer C was amazing to work with. She was very patient with our many questions. We left feeling well prepared for my upcoming procedure.

Just wanted to reach out for a second time to discuss problems. I reached out about a month or more ago and have not received a response or anything. I think that is the least that could happen. I went in for a sleep study on 7/16. The first estimate that I was given was a couple hundred dollars. After going into the office for the initial intake, the estimate rose to $1,000. After the sleep study, the estimate went up again to almost $2,000. I get that the estimate is just that, but to have actual charges almost doubling the initial estimate seems negligible on the hospital's part. I did not have any extra things I needed for the study. They did not have to hook me up on oxygen or anything extra. When it came to the results, they were pretty underwhelming, and the only suggestion was to conduct the sleep study again. I declined. My reasoning is, why would I go through that again when who knows how much I'll be charged a second time because clearly the estimate wasn't even closer? I know you are a multi-million dollar entity, so almost $2000 may not be a lot to you, but it is to me. Additionally, the APN who I saw told me to contact her if I had questions. I did, so I reached out. On the message page, it states something about hearing back in about two business days. Every time I email, it takes y'all almost 2 weeks or more to get back to me. Integrity. Don't advertise something, and then don't follow through. At the end of the conversation with the nurse, she just told me to do my own research and write back if I have any questions. What difference does writing back make if someone doesn't answer or responds when they feel like it? Also, I'm not a trained medical professional, so there is very little I can do. I have done research for a long time on the problem, which is why I was coming to y'all for answers. I don't mean to be accusatory, but I'm a little frustrated at the treatment and lack of communication. I recognize that a person might want to move on from the patient, but it seems like I just got left high and dry with no answers or direction, and the only messages I get from Mercy are about money and how I need to pay. Like all I am, I am an entity to collect money from and not a real patient. I am just expressing some frustrations I have and wanted to write something to voice a problem that I see.

They have great doctors but zero follow through or communication. I can never get into the same doctor and when I call it is an answering services who knows nothing about my clinic or doctors. I had a test 3 weeks ago and the doctor has never called me. I have left numerous messages with no reply. Very frustrating. What happened to family doctors that care.
