I have never been shown such great care in a medical facility as I did at Illini. Attention was the utmost goal for these nurses and AIDS. I just can't say enough about them, they were terrific and I'd go back to Illini whenever necessary. All my thanks for everything they did in my 2-day visit. And to the best doctor, Dr. Edward Connelly, I could have made it through without his guidance Thanks to all. I'd give them a five for the duration of my stay. They were wonderful: Carole, Alyssa, Brianna, Gayla, Karen and Jon the stellar Physical therapist! Also the first ray of sunshine I was greeted by, TAMMY!!! If I left anyone out, please remember. I've been to the ER here three times, once for my husband, once for myself, and once for my son. We went during the day and for the most part my husband was treated well, things moved a little slow but not too bad. My son and I both experienced our visits in the evening after the switch to the night staff. Both of our trips were awful. Both times I was left waiting for multiple hours without seeing a nurse or a doctor and ended up having to request to have someone finally come in. My son was in because of breathing issues, and after being given a breathing treatment that could've evidently had negative side effects we were left alone for two hours not knowing how long we needed to be there and no follow-up was done. I finally sent my daughter out to ask for someone to come in and our request was ignored, TWICE: mind you my son is 16 months old and was just given a breathing treatment that could've had negative side effects that I wasn't informed of. Then upon my request to leave I overheard nurses at the desk very loudly discussing my son's medical information and judging my decision to go home after they ignored us for two hours. The night staff at this ER are absolutely atrocious and DO NOT care. They'd rather trash talk and gossip about their patients than do their actual jobs.

I was raised and still live in Silvis, Illinois. I have been here for 40 years now. This is our city hospital, very clean, safe, and their staff is generally nice as well. The skywalk is absolutely, beautiful. I love the Larson center, it has just about every doctor available , along with a lab. Basically everything you need in one stop (medical wise).
I definitely recommend to all friends and family.

I went into ER for emergency surgery on a hernia that was cutting off blood supply and life threatening. The stuck me in a ER room with no TV for 6 1/2 hours the beeper on the blood pressure machine were beeping the entire time and first they said my blood pressure was too high at 98 then they said it was too low at 120/72 which was perfect for my weak heart but it was clear they didn't know how to run the thing. They would only give me ice chips at first and I was so thirsty. They wouldn't let me take my meds and heart pill which put my life at risk until 3 hours later when the Dr finally approved but still no water to take them with for about another hour. This experience was a nightmare from the start to finish when I called the front desk to file a complaint about one of the nurses who had an attitude the whole time. So instead of dealing with the problems the head nurse shows up with a security guard and told me to leave. Then the Dr comes at the last minute and didn't care to hear my issues so I said I'll find another surgeon and hospital and I'll never go back to Silvis you can count on that. I need professionals not amateurs.

really disappointed that what was good trusting care in the past has been reduced to ashes with all the changes being made to social medical care institutions that couldnt care less about patient care. and charges so outrageous. there are no good real accredited Drs left . Week before Halloween I fell and broke my arm.Pain was so bad I wanted to die. I was the only one there so got right in. the girl came with port. xray pulled my arm away from my side like nothing wrong. she put temporary cast . did not offer sling . My son being experienced with situation asked if she would give me one. she did but was too big. dr. came in said surgery would not be neccesary. gave me script for 7 pain pills take as needed. they were weak and next day alled about refill and his response to my son was rude and told him well I will do this time but thats it. take Tylonol. If not for my son being experienced for pain management by the 3rd day I would have overdosed on ibprofen and Tylonol as I was taking 4 every 2-3 hours. When I looked at my discharge papers they put mild pain which was not true. my pain was excrutiating.. 20 years ago was my last experience for myself at Illini hospital. care and concern for me then was TOP NOTCH. That is why I went back. I will never go back there again. and my son wont either. his last time about 10 years ago was for bladder cancer sugery. He also had good care and great dr. and aftercare. If I was standing in front of the people who took care of me I couldnt recognize them cause they werent in the room long enough to see them. worst exuse for medical I have ever seen. in my 84 years. kids in medical profession without suervision is life threatening . and so is socialist offices running what they know nothing about.

If I could give this ER 0/5 stars I would. I’m currently still sitting in the waiting room with my aunt (age 68) who fell at 10:30pm on the cement driveway and hit her face/head. She has noticeable trauma to her face which they covered with a small gauze when she was triaged here 4 HOURS AGO.

We are the only ones in the waiting room, and we have been since 1am (it is now 5am), besides one man who appeared homeless that slept in the corner and then left.

We have asked the receptionist two times since being here -which I consider a win since we’ve been here 4.5hours- if they had an update, to which she responded, “when they can get you, they’ll get you.” There is no other patients in this waiting room and we were very neutral in our questions despite my aunts apparent pain and my frustration for her lack of care, and yet she was incredibly rude and showed a gross lack of empathy despite us spending a majority of her shift sitting in her waiting room.

In case of emergency, AVOID this ER.

Finally getting this off my chest. 2011 I had abdominal aneurysm surgery. Dr dannenfelt misdiagnosed me as having kidney stones until I complained. After surgery he told me that I owed his lab money and refused any further contact. While in icu a nurse gave my medical information to her family, I didn't report her because I am friends with her family. Glad to still be alive but still very angry at Dr Dannenfelt and your organization. Does anyone actually read any reviews and follow up? Since mine is your organization breaking federal law by giving my medical records out to the public, it will be interesting to see if you respond to this or will legal get involved before being contacted?

I brought my 15 year old son who sustained a wrestling injury to be seen at 720. I tried explaining to registration he had another boy fall on his hand she cut me off so I don't know if she didn't understand his injury and that's why we weren't seen. But at 1020 I went up to the registration to ask if we can have a note with the time we first checked in so we could just go to another hospital she refused she then looked in his notes and said his X-ray wasn't put in until 1004pmwhen the lady who took his heart rate said it would be put in at 730pm. Another lady 40+ in age came in 20-30 mins after us had a small 7-10 weight fall on her foot she was seen and had X-rays before my son. Very unprofessional
