Was sent here by my claim handler (Molly Pemberton -Sedgwick Workman’s Compensation) for an MRI.

My appointment was 4/3/2025 and during this appointment I was seen by Dr. Durand and during this appointment I mentioned to him that I was still in quite a bit of pain and due to my job description I didn’t feel my at work injury had improved enough to be cleared to return to work.

Rather than complete an MRI Dr.Durand executed a few exercises to determine my range of motion, pain tolerance etc. Afterwards Dr. Durand asked me what my day to day looks like, believing him to be not engaging in small talk but asking me what my job description is/was at my employer I stated the tasks I’d be asked to do when physically able to work.

This communication breakdown has lead to TTD payments from Sedgwick to cease. Their office and my new claim handler have not prioritized this error. Paying bills and having proceeds to cover the cost of living have been near impossible. Savings completely depleted due to me being hurt at work have cost me thousands, and brought a considerable amount of stress.

If placed in a comparable situation I would advise your workman’s compensation claim handler to avoid this facility all together. This issue has made me believe that Merit Medical Evaluations should look to employ a higher standard of critical thinking and I would expect more rigor in evaluating this kind of situation.

Many, Many cases have been resolved, redirected, differentiated or instrumental in giving the patient proper medical information, so that they could move forward in symptom resolution. I cant say enough about the expertise, cooperation, efficiency and positive outcomes from all of the providers and staff at Merit Medical. This company misdiagnosed me to help Jame Gallen win my workers compensation claim. The worst part is Merit Medical Evaluation knew they were not giving all the medicals for my claimed injury and Dr. Von Essen still gave a medical opinion that I have long standing moderate persistent asthma. It's not right these medical providers are allowed to provide their paid for opinions with no regards for the patients. While Dr. Von Essen gets to go back to her life and job I'm left to deal with the consequences of Dr. Von Essen lies she forced into my life after being told to give all her answers to a degree of medical certainty. Dr. Von Essen even lied and said I gave my treating doctor false information and I started down this road after hearing I had occupational asthma lol. Yet I have signed medical authorizations for Keith Stewart. Texts messages from Keith Stewart but yeah Dr. Von Essen I started down this road after a real doctor correctly diagnosed me.

Rude facility. Physician doing claim is a hand specialist, not sure why he was put in charge to review a knee injury. Very impersonal. Would not recommend to anyone. Office looked like it was put together overnight, didn't have the aesthetics of a doctors office, more like a a real estate office.

Had to go here for an IME, Upon walking thru the door, you feel like its an lawyers office, not even close to an medical facility. I figure this business is ran is for Dr.s to come and evaluate patients who have come here for work comp, that way if there are complaints the reviews come here and not there main place of practice, i recommend finding there main place of practice and leaving your review there so the rest know prior.
