I’m shocked by all the negative reviews posted for this facility. I was recently a patient here, and the care I received was excellent. I truly left feeling much better, and am genuinely grateful for the care I received.

Dr. Bailey should be fired! The staff at the elderly mental health ward are condescending and downright rude. They don’t want to help families, they only care about money. The doctor laughed at me when I told him I was scared and in danger for my life. Literally laughed. Blamed me for being abused and a victim. Stay away from this place, far away. Never in my life have I seen such bad treatment of human beings. These people are not a caring medical team. They are verbally abusive to families.

I got two lawyers at this hospital. They diagnosed me with schizophrenia and were keeping me there for voices (auditory hallucinations), and it was reported that way to the judge too. One of the lawyers was trying to get me out of the hospital because I wasn’t a danger to myself or others, and he said that this doctor is ridiculous for keeping me there because she was having eye surgery and couldn’t discharge me. Absolutely unbelievable…

The second lawyer was appointed by the state of NH to get a Guardianship over me.

I lost to both cases as they did get a Guardianship. The hospital thought that idea was brilliant… and about getting out of the hospital, the doctor said that she’d make sure I lost and keep me there for six months. They threatened me with involuntary injections which I eventually got once I left this hospital, though not technically involuntary yet. They threaten that I will be on involuntary injections if I came off the injections.

I didn’t want to be stuck in the hospital for six months if I lost, so I dropped the court case and called the lawyer, which he said it was unbelievable that the doctor postponed the discharge date because she was getting eye surgery. What a nightmare…

The hospital experience itself was super isolating and I used the phone at least three hours every day.

The second lawyer was with my case after I left the hospital and the morning of my court date one month after being discharged, he called me and said “you’re going to lose and I know it. What would they think of you not taking your medication? You have Schizophrenia… just accept the Guardianship to make it easier.”

What a horrible system… Psychiatry is just horrible.

Terrible place if you actually need help. My stay was a little over 3 days, and the doctor there tried to take me off all of my meds in that short bit of time. He did this out of spite to try and make me react in such a way that would cause me to have to stay longer. I would not let him win so when I left I was not given any prescriptions or information about a new psychiatrist. I was treated very poorly by the doctor's and nurses and staff. They caused my PTSD to become unbearable at one point, but thanks to my learned coping skills I got through it as best as possible. I would not say that I felt safe in his care at all. I felt that he judged me based off of a past I am trying really hard to escape, and if this man did not try to hurt my mental health I may have stayed longer but as it was I did not receive any care that I needed. This doctor also only spoke to me all of 2 times while I was there and he is supposed to speak to all his patients everyday, so why he had tried to take me off of all of my medications is beyond me. I guess he thinks he knows me? I guess he was wrong about that. I wish these doctors weren't so spiteful against their patients, I wish they hadn't tried getting reactions out of me, because otherwise I could have stayed and gotten the help I had needed. The help that was provided was definitely the wrong help, if you could even call that helping!! Some of the staff sucked, others were truly amazing people. One of them stole my diamond earrings out of my locked up possessions. I had asked this particular staff if I could lock up my diamonds and he was the only one to know about it, a few days ago I went to look for them (same day I left) they were not where I left them in my bag and no where else I could find. The one and only thing that was great about this hospital was the fact that they allowed us to keep our phones with us that's about the only good thing about this hell hole, even though I saw the cleaning lady taking a video of me which is 100% against the rules and she was also making fun of me. This is a very unsafe and unprofessional environment I would not suggest this to anyone I love

Came here in September 2014. Adolescent unit. The staff were good. The activities were great. Therapy was great. We did some meditation and there was a therapy puppy too. It was overall a pleasant experience. They really helped me 360 degrees, because I came there tranquilized and I left there able to smile and talk to the other patients. My only problem is that when I finally became conscious, the dark-skinned huge overnight guy was sort of "Go back in your room or I will force you" Which was super scary. At that time I was still drugged up and couldn't talk. I just would wish they would explain nicely what was happening and ask me nicely to go back in my room. That's all.

I have tried everything to resolve this issue in a professional manner but you have left me no choice. My experience was I arrived there. was as expected. I lost my only child unexpectedly and I couldn't coupe. They went through my belongings and told me I had a lot of cash on me I said i was aware of that I came in an Ambulance. The nurse told me they would lock up my belongings in a safe I said fine. When I was being discharged I signed all the paperwork the nurse told me that my money was in an envelope with my prescription. When I got home and unpacked NO money I called right away and spoke with Craig my discharge nurse he said he would review the cameras and call me back. He just didn't have any answers. So I had to call the patient advocate Franchesca only to have dodged calls no return calls then I get another name to help me Dennis Calligan same thing no return phone calls then when he does answer he says I have no idea what to do!! So he passed me off to his boss Migavin Lamarre who told me I would receive my money in 7 to 10 days and he would bet his job on it? Now I have been left with Liz who was going to call me at 3 today and its 4 i won't hold my breath. I will keep pursuing my stolen money. This is not fair

I can't believe lisa feinburg is still at the the child unit.. but like the others suggested she is terrible!!! Had me spend up to 3 months there looking for a placement in a residential. They wouldn't even let me out for walks with my parents on hospital grounds. the only fresh air I got was a court yard that was half the size of a basketball court. The only thing I could see was few tall trees. Due to lack of exercise and the fact the only thing I could do that brought me any enjoyment me was to buy junk food from the cafeteria I gained at least 20 pounds in there. I had not been out for so much as a walk for months so eventually by the time I was out I was having a very hard time walking more than 10 minutes without getting winded. My physical condition could not have gotten any worse. Mentally I was going even more insane. There was a lot of issues of why I was there for so long but the hospital took no initiative to get me out of there to my next placement. They were raking in the insurance money after all. I saw kids drop in and out every week and at one point I started telling all the kids there I was a lifer so they wont be there as long as me. When they kept telling me every week I would be there a little longer the nurses started giving me sedatives because they I was acting manic about why I was still there. At least in jail you know how long your in there for or have some what of an idea. In there I began telling myself I would never get out even though I know it wasn't true. It was my only way to survive. My muscles were being unused and it took me a while to have my strength back. Don't expect help for your kids here most of the day we watched movies or did little worksheets from therapy websites. They would never do one on one therapy or anything like that. A mental hospital is not what you think. Medication is the treatment insurances like. They only thing they will do for you is to send you off somewhere possibly better

The staff neglected and mistreated me and my roommate. It would take days just to get something to treat a wound, and the staff would constantly use deadnamed on trans patients. They would refuse phone calls, or refuse to give you your items that a parent dropped off. They would shut down groups and community meetings because we would voice our issues that needed to be addressed. And neglected patients that had covid and could not leave the room they were in.
