I had a post op appointment with Linda Metzger this morning March 17th 2023 at 9:50AM. Never had met her before.

Upon checking in I was told that she was running behind 20 minutes. After waiting past my appointment time the nurse took me to the room prepared me and told me Linda would be in shortly to answer my questions and look at my wound.

I waited in that room longer then the time Linda spent with me once she got there. After she looked at my wound I told her I had a question and started to ask her. She interrupted me and gave me the bums rush. I told her that Dr. Brockhardt said something to me before I was taken into surgery causing this follow up that is very basic to another surgery I need.
Linda then interrupted me and acted rude towards my question. I was put off by her response and told her that I did not want to waste her time got off the table and started to head towards the door.
As I was waking out the door she told me in order to ask her my question, which would have take 90 seconds to answer, that I would need to make another appointment with her.

I told Linda that I did not want to waste her time or the good doctors time on such a basic question when he could be helping someone in greater need then I. No wonder health care is so costly.

I told her I would Google it as I was trying to gather information in which to make an informed decision on another surgery that I will need in the near future. She didn't even flinch after I said this.

I have been going to Beaver/Optum for over 30 years. I have never been treated so poorly. Dr. Brockhardt is a outstanding orthopedic surgeon and deserves a better PA.

I have worked with other Physician Assistants at Beaver many times before now. Linda does not measure up to the standards the other PA's have established.

My first impression of Linda Metzger was not good to say the least.

After my father and I were waiting for the longest time for her to even come in and see him, she only spent less than five minutes in the room and left (without warning) before he could ask any questions. I had to ask a nurse to have her come back in, and the nurse said she might already be with her next patient. HUH She didn’t even let him speak! She finally came back in and asked (in a very annoyed tone), “You have a question?” So my dad kindly asked ONE question and while she was *kind of* answering it, she’d already completely backed out the room and into the hallway! Reaching for the next patient’s door! She seemed so uninterested in how much pain he was feeling. Also, he checked the after-visit notes she wrote and every single thing she wrote down was inaccurate. In my opinion, she’s not fit to work in healthcare if this is how she treats patients. I would never employ a PA who made patients feel neglected, unimportant and helpless. Very reckless behavior.

Nice office staff, nice building in a nice area. None of that makes up for a complete lack of actual medical care. Complete waste of time and a $30 copay.

This PA Spent less than 15 minutes doing nothing of value, not even a cursory examination, doesn't provide any treatment options other than surgery, and doesn't appear to comprehend what an off work order actually entails for someone who works for a living. Very disappointing for someone with more than adequate experience and an excellent resume.

I will be requesting a physician for susequent appointments, possibly with a different medical group if I fear this review will result in retaliatory action.
