I have had the privilege of meeting Dr. Chen, who stands out as the most impressive doctor I have ever met. She demonstrates a remarkable ability to understand my struggles and situations, allocating approximately 40 minutes to ensure a thorough comprehension of my experiences. Dr. Chen also engaged in a detailed discussion with my wife about my condition, providing her with a comprehensive understanding. She offered meticulous guidance, furnishing me with detailed information and instructions regarding my disease. Upon receiving my lab results, she initiated contact that morning to explain the findings. As a rheumatologist, her role is particularly demanding, as patients often consult her while experiencing pain and sensitivity. I hope others can appreciate her exceptional qualities. Dr. Chen embodies compassion and active listening, possessing extensive expertise in her field. Our encounter with Dr. Chen has been a life-changing experience, and we hold her in high regard.

I have never felt compelled to leave a bad review until I met Dr. Chen. I have absolutely no complaints for the nurse, but the care provider herself made me regret visiting this clinic at all. Despite my primary physician being the one to diagnose me with hypermobility of the joints and suggesting that I seek an evaluation for EDS, Dr. Chen was talking to me like I wanted something to be wrong with me. My mother was present during the visit and agrees. My joints quite literally cracked in my mother’s womb, and I have been in pain since I was born. When my primary physician suggested that I might have EDS, I went home, researched it, and felt like I had finally found the answer to the pain I have been experiencing. I did not know what EDS was prior to my primary physician educating me because the rheumatologist I visited when I was a child thought I had arthritis and gave up after that. Not only did my care provider show no concern, but she was, in my opinion, uneducated on the syndrome she was evaluating me for. For example, she mentioned nothing about the 3 stages of EDS (hypermobility, pain, and stiffness) and how that should contribute to my evaluation. After being mocked, interrupted, and disrespected, I no longer felt comfortable sharing my experience, and was unable to answer her questions accurately. This whole EDS thing is new to me and I didn’t even realize that I could bend my joints in the specific ways that she was asking me to until after my appointment because I choked up. According to The Ehlers Danlos Society, I more than meet the criteria for a hEDS diagnosis. I will be seeking a second opinion because I need help and will not be recommending this clinic to my peers diagnosed with hEDS. She diagnosed me with fibromyalgia which implies that the visible, physical symptoms I experience are all in my head. As far as I’m concerned, I don’t think it’s possible for fibromyalgia to cause joint pain, swelling, locking, and dislocations. Half of my symptoms are factually not symptoms of fibromyalgia. Not to mention that fibromyalgia and EDS are comorbid, and almost half of EDS patients are misdiagnosed with fibromyalgia prior to their EDS diagnosis. The most concerning thing was that she kept pulling on my injured wrist after I told her to stop because it hurt, and after reading her reviews, this is unfortunately common with Dr. Chen. She also made arrogant, uneducated, and/or passive-aggressive comments about my celiac disease, primary physician, the mass on my wrist, etc.. After reading some of her lowest reviews, it seems she has a record of phobia(s), arrogance, lack of empathy, dismissiveness, physically hurting her patients, failing to educate her patients on their new diagnosis, telling patients that their physical symptoms are all in their head, etc.. I can’t fit my entire appointment into 1 review, but thanks for reading.

I literally do not want to see this person again. I've already told my primary. The staff were wonderful, kind and polite. The Minzi Chen was terrible. I've had 2 cervical fusions. When she asked me to tilt my head forwards, backwards, side to side, I told her my surgeon told me "no extensions at all", so she pushed my head more than I should have done at all. She was rude, refused to listen, kept talking into a phone receiver while I was attempting to answer any question. Her attempt at showing empathy was fake. She literally said she fully understands my emotional grief of my son, and multiple others. She was not empathetic at all. She was dismissive, implying my grief is causing me to have delusional lipomas all over my body(Dercum's Disease). Which 2 other medical professionals confirmed I have. She referred that they aren't doctors, she's double certified, she's the expert. I'm already scheduled to see others in the medical field to help me with the diagnosis of DD. This Dr Chen is arrogant. Maybe she was having a bad day..🤔

Horrible, horrible experience. I will NEVER go back to her ever again. I came to her to check if I had rheumatoid arthritis and joint pain, and instead she went on and on about my weight and how I should be treating my Crohn’s disease! I didn’t even go to her for that, and she had the audacity to tell me that I was doing everything wrong about a disease and my weight, and then proceeded to tell me that I was “a very pretty girl.” Fakest attempt at empathy I’ve ever seen. She rushed me the entire time, hurt me while pressing on my stomach (which… why are we even checking my stomach when I came in for my joints), and humiliated me. She also wanted to schedule an appointment after she told me I don’t have arthritis (which, no way I trust her opinion now!) back in her office which was over an hour away. Yeah right! Good god. How do you even get into this field with these kind of horrible manners and lack of information? If you’re on the fence about taking the drive to see her: Don’t. I promise you’ll regret it.

My first appointment in office took over 1 hr past my scheduled time. I also feel like she didn't listen. I told her how my back and neck dr confirmed my arthritis and I have bad neck and back and she just tried to day for me to stretch it that all I need but I can't it does nerve damage more and my hands tingle. She doesn't not listen also my zoom visit I was quite and just listened she said my blood work came back good which most did but what I was worried abt had questions. I didn't want to ask her I didn't let her know I had received a copy but my interpretation said from quest lab that there is possible for RA and other connective tissues diseases should be considered to look for., but Dr Chen DIDN'T mention that also when I mentioned my farther had RA she told me there's no way he can and asked me what medication he is on for that, UNPROFESSIONAL! I have hurt for 58 plus yrs my ABNA shows up but no one can help I'm very disappointed in my appointment with Dr chen. And when our appointment was over she didn't look further what could be hurting me and making me sick sometimes just hung up. I wish they office manager could watch THAT ZOOM CALL AND I COULD SEND A FAX OF MY BLOOD WORK THAT WASN'T MENTION HER THAT DR
