Caring and competent medical professionals can be found at this community hospital. Unfortunately, staffing appears very short. On a Sunday morning, no one at front desk in lobby; 75-minute wait to see ER doc (not so bad); an additional 75 minutes for discharge papers. Cafeteria and gift shop were closed. Limited menu available in café.

Doctors may be ok but so much has tanked in the last year. Admin staff didn't change an appointment I called about and changed and then rudely accused me of skipping the appointment and didn't register the new date. They can't seem to get a radiology order submitted to another hospital either, after 2 months of them claiming they have done it but others look in the hospital system and there is no record of it. Maybe it's the one bad apple, but I can't be the only one with these issues. I think I've been more than patient. This is just inexcusable to delay care due to incompetence.

I’ve been a patient at this hospital for years & I am currently leaving ! As soon as I can find another. Mount Auburn used to be a good hospital. I had all my doctors here, primary OB , & more. Now they are terrible, they don’t listen to your concerns, most of the time they don’t seem to know what they are doing and they NEVER seem to have any answers to my problems and concerns, even after running 100 test. Same with the ER. And let’s not forget to add in how RUDE and unprofessional They are. I tried to stick it out but now I am DONE ! If you can find a different hospital then DO IT. I would give them 0 stars if I could.

Amazing prenatal and birth & delivery midwives and nurses! We had so much attention and care the whole time. Clean non chaotic rooms, room food service, and such caring nurses helping you with everything.

Please, please, please stay away from this place, especially the ER department. My wife and I showed up at 3 am. She was feeling weak, had a fever and body aches, and was severely dehydrated. As I’m writing this review, it is 7 am. We are still waiting to be seen. A man came in around 5 am, presented similar symptoms to the receptionist and was seen in 10 minutes. The receptionist is extremely unprofessional. I do admit I’ve bugged him a lot about our situation, but I find it inexcusable for him to say “She’s just a little dehydrated, I’ve been through the same thing, she’ll be alright.” I urge you to please go elsewhere. These people do not care about you and do not see you as human.

Specifically for the lab/blood drawing - go anywhere else. I waited over an hour for a simple blood draw, stuck in a room with at least one individual who clearly had a symptomatic respiratory infection and was a risk to every other person in the (extremely crowded, poorly ventilated) facility. Staff in the lab were rude and unhelpful. Such a shame because my other experiences at Mt. Auburn have been lovely!

I transferred my prenatal care to mount auburn late in pregnancy because I was receiving terrible care through melrose wakefield hospital. It was the best decision I made. The midwives are very patient centered with birthing mothers. They said my name right at every appointment which shows care. They make sure to ask what you're comfortable with and there's no debate. They were kind, supportive, and reassuring that I would have a positive birthing experience which I did! As a woman of color, all of this meant the world to me. I had traumatic deliveries at melrose wakefield hospital before because of disrespectful staff, medical racism, and malpractice. But at Mount Auburn I felt heard and respected. I was able to deliver in a calm setting with a great team who listened and assisted instead of dictating the delivery process on anyone else's terms. They truly understand that it is YOUR birthing experience. I highly recommend the midwives. The nurses in the maternity ward for recovery were amazing as well.

I was in this hospital many times starting in Oct of 2024. I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer from which I went for the Whipple surgery on December 30, 2024. After surgery I was transferred to building south 3. I had the best nurse ever Sandra Chang, THANK YOU Sandra for your patience, your caring and looking after me while in South 3. Your caring and professionalism as a nurse is outstanding. Whenever you were on duty whenever I rang the nurse bell it was always you who came to look after me not an aid or someone one else BUT YOU. Now as far as my Dr. I could not has found a better Dr. he was as caring as can be he was there always for me Dr Demirjian and his team were coming in monitoring my condition. I know, I know Dr's are supposed to do that but for me it was different and special for him Team were always there. So if you find yourself in his hand along with his Team be thankful you are in great hands. A GREAT BIG SHOUT OUT FOR Dr. Demirjain and his TEAM and SANDRA CHUNG. Oh and by the way he tells you like it is he does not sugarcoat any thing.
