My mom tried to explain what was going on with her, and he kept interrupting her and wouldn't let her finish a sentence and when she tried, he got loud with her, I had to step in and tell him he needed to bring it down or we would have problems. Worst bedside manner I have ever seen definitely look for a new doctor for my mom.

I met Dr Mulvey & his medical team, led by his talented office manager, many decades ago.

Since I knew a little bit about veterinary medicine, my mom asked me for my layman's opinion about the doctor in whom she entrusted her care (*prior to Dr Mulvey's taking charge of her case).

So,I accompanied my mom to her LAST appointment with the "specialist" covering her complex case¹.

Though my mom's case was serious & her health was poor, the previous doctor failed to listen to my mom's very clear, short & intelligent "subjective" opinion/complaints.

That doctor invested little time & less care during his brief exam. During that exam, my mom asked for my input or questions.
I had none (I could say, publicly).

The moment we left the previous doctor's office, my mom asked me what I thought. The moment we left, I told my mom what I thought (took less time than the exam). I urged her to immediately seek treatment from someone with more knowledge than I.

•She'd long complained about that doctor's overall abilities to my family & myself. She had lost confidence & wanted reassurance.

Though I've never attended med school, even I knew the "medical advice" was dangerously wrong!

*My mom & I looked into her options & she was fortunate to have found Dr Mulvey. He doesn't sugar coat anything.

However, Dr Mulvey's more than qualified to run a family practice.
He could easily run the nearby hospital.
His qualifications are beyond those of most of his peers.

He's so talented, I asked if he'd take my case. He did (thank you).

Our family received years of outstanding treatment.

¹ Since I was a child, mom was always ill. Suddenly, her health became critical!

¹ The doctors ordered an emergency exploratory surgery in the '70's, resulting in a radical splenectomy.

¹ She was also diagnosed with genetic autoimmune conditions which required constant attention from medical experts.

¹ (Dr Mulvey's efforts outmatched the combined of many other Drs)

I have been going to Dr. Mulvey for almost 20 yrs. He is direct and spends the time to listen. He is a honest Doctor who will tell you the answers to your questions, perhaps sometimes you may not like what he’s telling you, but he does this in a genuine caring way. His wife, I believe is the office manager and very very nice. The office has that personal touch you don’t get from all these clinics. He is just a good man!!!

I've been seeing Dr. Mulvey since I moved into the area(almost 20 years). He is knowledgeable, professional, and honest. It's not often that you can say you look forward to going to the doctors, but that's the case with him!

I went to Dr Mulvey for approximately 20 years and I always thought he was a very good doctor and I just had problems explaining myself. Turns out (and apparently I'm a very slow learner) that his bedside manner SUCKS!!! Every time I'd answer a question he asked, he would just look right at me and repeat his question. That's why I thought it was me. The worst thing was when he prescribed Lyrica for my fibromyalgia... that medication was horrible for me. I know it works for some people but it caused me to appear and feel like I was totally exhausted 24/7. When I expressed my concerns to Dr. Mulvey he simply said I needed to increase my dose, which he was happy to prescribe more. I still don't understand why he did that. Eventually I got away from the 13 medications he was prescribing and from his practice. Now I weigh 30 pounds less and no longer need the blood pressure and cholesterol meds I was on, and I guess I never needed the other 11 meds in the first place!
