This store is a diamond in the rough where Anchorage is concerned. A great place to shop if you have food allergies! I loved it! It's like a Sprouts and Natural Grocers and your favorite herb shop all rolled into one!

I've only been here a handful of times and every time I went there I noticed the staff are just rude. No one ever greets you, or asks if you need help finding anything and whenever I would go to checkout, it was just so transactional. No small talk or ask how I'm doing just check out and move on. Is it their standard to hire people who don't know how or want to talk to people? And it would be nice if they started selling their hot food again, it's been 4 years now ... pretty ridiculous.

Most of the people who work here are weird and rude. Like they get disgusted and bothered by you for asking for help, or get judgy or snooty about the thing you are looking for. I'm sorry, isn't this a health food store? Yeah, I'm here looking for products off the beaten path. I know this might sound dramatic, but I'm not exaggerating. I've been in many times and walked away wondering what just happened.

Always had everything you need, perfect place for holistic and crunchy people! I’ve never been in a grocery store that aligned so much with my way of life. They carry all the brands you can’t find anywhere unless you order directly from the company itself, it’s sublime. The people in charge of staying up to date on what’s clean and legit in the health community never miss, seriously. I’m beyond impressed.

The Natural Pantry has, by far, the best selection of organic, gluten free, vegetarian and vegan foods in the city. They are conveniently located in midtown and boast everything from prepared salads and a bakery to vegan makeup and aroma therapy oils. Their fruit and vegetable selection is varied and they carry several Kosher products as well. Even though the store is the same size as a chain grocery, the staff make it feel like a small local market. The are running a clothing drive (for new sweatshirts, boots, gloves, socks, etc.). So if you are headed that way during July 2020 bring what you can along.

More often than not something I buy ends up being past the expiry or best by date. I need to remember to check the dates VERY carefully on everything I buy at NP. Really disappointed that this health food store can't seem to stock their shelves properly and it's too much of a pain to return things after the fact as I don't go here very often. I used to go weekly when they had the hot food and deli bar but am very disappointed in how things have been since COVID.
