Quick note before the story: this is a strong practice with multiple doctors and fantastic NPs. The NPs always called me back and answered any question I had, big or small. When I had little to no complications, they were a really good fit. However, if you want personal care/attention, have complications, or have anxiety, I would recommend searching elsewhere. This may be a great fit for some people, so I encourage you to think about your personal needs! For me, my anxiety, and my complications, I really needed more of that personal touch care.

I really loved this practice (I’d been with them for about 5 years before pregnancy), and at the start of my pregnancy they were great. However, I had some medical complications that weren’t related to baby that landed me in the hospital three times and ultimately led to an emergency surgery (at 22 weeks pregnant - scary!) and I never heard from my OB. On my third ER trip, I called the OB emergency line because I wanted advice on where to go and no one called me back (and I mean it’s been three weeks and I still haven’t heard back).

Even though it wasn’t related to baby, I still had tests that impacted baby (plus anesthesia, narcotics, and other questionable drugs) and it would’ve been nice to hear from my OB who I trusted and had provided my care for the first 21 weeks of pregnancy. I guess I could be asking for too much on this, but my PCP checked-in on the portal to make sure I was okay, so it feels like a reasonable ask. I understand my OB couldn’t do anything but she knew I was in the hospital and required surgery and never once checked-in on baby and I. This may be okay for some people, but it’s no longer a good fit for me.

I will note that the staff are very knowledgeable and the NPs are absolutely amazing, however, because of my complications, I really wanted to feel like my doctor cared. I’m transferring out of the practice to a high risk OB hospital in Boston and I still haven’t received any communications from my OB. It’s been an overwhelming experience made scarier by the lack of access to/communications from my doctor.

Absolutely love NEWH! I am a current patient with Dr. Meade, and she has been exceptionally patient, caring, and kind during our appointments. They almost always run on time. The space is really inviting and very calming (which is amazing for a Doctor's Office!). I've also only had positive experiences with other medical professionals (NP Elizabeth is amazing!) and the front desk administrative professionals are a pleasure to work with.

Dr Brown is a truly caring provider who takes time to listen to her patients and thoroughly explain procedures, conditions and answer questions. The practice itself and all medical assistants are extremely responsive. Very thrilled with the care at NEWH

Dr. Schmidt was incredible. She was very personable and communicative about everything she was going to do, which helped me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. She talked me through each process and communicated when she would be touching me and why. I couldn’t recommend her enough. Excellent experience

Dr. Cole and her team are very kind, considerate, and even when they feel there are other recommendations for pregnancy still respect YOU and your decisions and autonomy.

Additionally, I would like to thank the team and Dr. Cole for assisting in their full capacity with work related issues imposing unnecessary stress on a pregnancy.

I have and will continue to recommend this office, Dr. Cole, and her team for the best prenatal care experienced in the area.

Dr Grove was so helpful. She took the time to go over issues I have had and never made me feel rushed. Honestly my doctor retired and I was switched to Dr Grove. I assumed I would have to find another Dr on my own. I am so happy to not have to do that and have a Dr who cares about her patients.
