I don't understand how this hospital doesn't have higher ratings! I delivered my baby here and the team was so fast acting and attentive that it was almost exactly how I pictured my birth going outside of my personal complications towards the end of delivery. I never felt pushed to do anything I didn't want to do, the lactation consultant McKenzie was absolutely phenomenal in helping me and my baby bond and learn to breastfeed together. When I hand my birth plan to the nurse in our room, she stopped and read everything before even leaving. When it came to needing further intervention later I could tell that my team new exact what I wanted without having to ask which took the stress and anxiety off of me for feeling like I would have to actively advocate for myself in a stressful moment. I had a natural birth that felt supported by not only my family, but my healthcare team. I delivered with Dr. Spellings and she was also incredibly caring, hands on, and fast acting too. Highly recommend this hospital for any mama looking for a place who is baby friendly and natural birth friendly with little intervention. I also HIGHLY recommend taking their birthing class here because you will learn about everything related to this hospital specifically and all the accommodations that you can receive during labor. 10/10!!! I would have another baby here 100%, no hesitation. Which is a lot coming from someone who has not had very good experiences in the past with medical professionals. You won't regret coming here!

They gave me a photo copy of my prescriptions instead of the original copy. Me, not knowing this, or not knowing what I was looking at, I gave it to Walmart. Walmart denies the request. I spend 2 days waiting on a call back from NBI that didn’t happen. When I finally get ahold of a nurse Ellen, I’m told to wait for another call back, as she needed to call Walmart to figure out what the issue was. I miss the call back, call the same number that called me and after being directed to the emergency room, I’m told by a nurse Corinne, that it’s Thomas hospital. I know it’s the same woman from earlier that day, why did she tell me that it was Thomas and not NBI? Why did she lie and tell me it was Thomas hospital? I hangup as this has clearly become a game for nurse Corinne . I call the EXACT SAME NUMBER back and the same lady answers, this time I can tell she’s holding her laughter back as she can tell that I’m confused and irritable. She also now says that it is NBI and directs me to the nurses station in the ER to Ellen. Ellen tells me I’m screwed, basically. Tells me that Walmart is still saying it’s a photo copy and that, not only do I not get the medications, but, I’m now being viewed as some sort of red flag. Between the sociopathic games on the phone, to the complete denial of treatment, I’m very disappointed in the community. And you know damn well they are still going to bill me for the medication prescription as if they treated me. That’s some dirty stuff, very unethical and was a complete waste of time. As a poor person, it’s incredibly difficult to seek healthcare knowing that it’s all a cash grab for insurance and knowing you’re most likely not getting real help. If you’re going to roll the healthcare dice, you might want to consider rolling them elsewhere

Every single time I go to this hospital it’s a horrible experience. I went in because I woke up at 4:30 am with the feeling of a bug that had crawled in my ear and got lodged and it was moving around. I had to be at work so I poured rubbing alcohol in my ear until the movement stopped. I got off work, went home, tried to remove it myself with peroxide and warm water. No luck, I was scared it was still in there's, so my mom convinced me to go to the hospital. The nurse who was gonna be checking my ear walked in, his name is Jay. He came in with a disengaged attitude, as if he already didn’t wanna be there. He talked to me as if he was tired of me, and I’d never even met the man in my life. So he asks me which ear i thought the bug was in, I told him and he looked in the opposite ear first so he could compare them, cool. When he got to the infected ear, I tensed up a little, leading him to say ā€œ if you’re going to jerk I’m not gonna be able to help you ā€œ well I’m sorry sir, I’ve never had a bug in my ear before so pardon me if I’m a little nervous. I didn’t say this to him, I just thought it to myself. I still remained calm and allowed him to look in my ear. When he stopped looking, I asked him if he seen anything, he replied ā€œ I haven’t even got the scope yet, I’m just lookingā€. He sounded very annoyed. So I quickly apologized and said I’m sorry I’ve just never had anything g like this happen and I’m just terrified of it being a spider. He then changed to a nicer attitude and said ā€œ I seen a little earwax but no big, I’m gonna see if I can scrape that earwax out. I said ā€œ Ok yes sir ā€œ and he went and got the tool. When he got back he used both tools to open my ear and jammed it in, so naturally I jumped a little. He snatched it out and said if you’re gonna do that I’m not gonna help you, but this time I could tell he was over it. I just replied ā€œ I’m sorry but you just jammed it in and it scared me it was a reflex I didn’t do it on purpose. So he went to do it again and I made sure not to jerk. It started hurting the deeper he went and I voiced that to him atleast 3 times before he stopped going further and said ā€œ I’m not even close to your ear drum, I’m looking at it right now ā€œ as if I was lying about it hurting. I said ā€œ well it still hurts me. He then snatched it out of my ear for the second time and said ā€œ well there’s no bug in your earā€ with a nasty attitude, snatched his gloves off, threw them away & walked out. I spoke up and said ā€œ excuse me please come back and tell me your name, I feel like the way you just handled this was super unprofessional. He mumbled a last name I had never heard before and can’t remember now even thought this was only 20 minutes ago. I said sir, can you please give me your full name? And he said ā€œ Jay ____ ā€œ something and I can’t remember what he said. After that he just walked away. Didn’t apologize for being unprofessional, just ran off. I work 7 days a week, 10 hours a day. The last place I want to be is at that hospital. From the second Jay walked into the room, he made me feel as if he didn’t want to be there, and or didn’t want to deal with what I had going on . Please don’t trust this hospital to take care of you.

My last er visit to this hospital was great and the time before that as well. The front desk staff is very considerate and quick to get you to the back to get checked out. The nursing staff, techs, NP's and doctors take care of you a , answer your questions , run the test to make sure your ok or to see if you need anything else. I would return back to this Emergency and Hospital. This is one of the good Emergency Rooms if you care about your health. Very caring staff and clean facility

I've had issues repeatedly with all of North Baldwin Infirmary and its clinics. This includes many bills not put through insurance, attempts to overcharge with misinformation on my bill, bills sent to my parents' insurance address instead of the address they have on file for me, and a failure to send final notices. They have sent many of my bills to collections simply because I was waiting for the last bill on the statement to be processed by insurance. Immediately after it was processed they sent it to collections and I never received a text message balance update or any final notices. The last statement didn't include all the bills either. The doctor, Ahdy Bolis, is also trying to double charge me through North Baldwin Infirmay Emergency Physicians and Gulf Regional Pathologists. Ahdy Bolis is also overcharging us for an emergency room visit. It's marked as a level 3 ER visit, but he was only with us for less than 5 minutes to tell us our baby was fine and to check my baby's heart and lungs with nothing but a stethoscope. I am not paying $400 for a doctor to do absolutely nothing while we waited for him to assist us for around 30 to 45 minutes alone. They can either assist me when I call tomorrow, or I will be escalating the issues. It is not easy to make so many phone calls every single time I get a bill while I have a newborn baby.

Just to write a review I have to give a star but if I could do it without the star I definitely would. My daughter was scheduled to go for an MRI yesterday (Monday December 2nd 2024) and she flipped out well today they rescheduled it for this morning (Tuesday December 3rd 2024) and this time they refused to let me back even though she begged for me to come back and then the nurse LIED to my daughter and told her she would allow me to come back and was VERY rude when she brought her back to me. Everyone who knows me knows I do NOT play when it comes to my children, my daughter was all for it today until the nurse refused to let me back even though they let me yesterday. Thank you North Baldwin Infirmary for being a joke and having some VERY crappy nurses who are not only rude but also lied to my child which caused her to refuse.

Excellent friendly staff. Clean facilities. Location provides care and stabilization for a large rural area spanning two counties with over a 20 mile gap from this location to another hospital. The complex is also a blessing to the area as it allows office space and privileges for specialist and other physicians who will schedule services and appointments for patients here rather than the patients having to manage getting to those home ports. As the staff here told us during our stay ā€we are a small country town hospital. We don’t have all the fancy stuff the big ones have but we care and have what we need to provide general care and surgery.ā€ Many of the care team are transplants here from large facilities in nearby areas and afar. Who bring with them the advantage of experience from other places.
