Terrible hospital. Filthy. Rude staff. Incompetent staff took my blood and somehow spilled it all over my arm coat and the bed. Never experienced that before not even at an urgent care. These are supposedly the trained medical staff providing for the masses?! I came for simple X-ray because I’ve been having chest pains for over a week but I spent 3hrs sitting around before I decided to just leave. I get that ER isn’t quick but that was an insane waste of my time.

The entire time I was there they did EKG and took my blood and urine. Urine bottle sat next to me the entire time I was there. Someone even knocked it over where it spilled on the bed I was sitting on and I waited to see how long until someone would notice and clean it up. (30mins) I constantly asking what is next step for me why am I waiting so long. Dismissive responses. I tell them I wasn’t expecting to be admitted I just thought I could come and get chest xray and go about my business as I had plans at 7pm and no one warned me it would take this long. Long story short I missed my show I’m out 30$ + plus whatever they’ll bill me for this subpar service and I wasted 3hrs of my time. I would literally never come back here even if I was literally dying. I guess if this chest pain turns to something worse I’ll just lay down and die. Better option than coming here.

If you have any choice DO NOT GO HERE!!!!
I was having 24 hours of severe cramping in my lower abdominal every 20 minutes as well as constant diarrhea, sorry to be so graphic. So I get to the ER at 10:30 am. I tell the doctor what's wrong. While waiting in the ER I have at least 2 horrible episode of yelling out in pain, but there are no doctors or nurses to even notice me at all. After about 2 hours a nurse asks me to pee in a cup. I do and the cup of pee sits by me for a bout 2 hours. I have a few more excruciating abdominal cramps, while I am yelling out in pain, still no one comes to see me. Finally a doctor comes and thinks it's a bad stomach flu. Say they are going to do blood work. At least an hour later a nurse takes my blood. Now I have had blood taken several times in my life with out any issues. She tries taking it form one arm, then the other, then tries my hand which hurts extremely bad but still cant get the blood into the vile but there's blood everywhere at this point, all over the bed and my arm. Then she has to go to lunch so a man nurse says he'll do it, this also hurts really bad but at least they finally get the blood. But they didn't put it in right, so every time they give me anything the iv hurts really bad!!!! My hand is still in a lot of pain the next day BTW. I am thinking they'll give me something to help the pain since I been writhing in pain for about 4 hours now, but nope. Gave me some tylenol and an iv drip, I still feel horrible. Nurses and doctors every once in a while ask if I feel better and I say NO! Another 2 hours go by and they get the bloodwork back and everything's normal. Now they say we are going to do a cat scan. So at least another hour passed, while I am still having severe stomach cramps, literally screaming out loud in pain that no one pays any attention to me. Finally get the cat scan results and they says there a inflammation but they need to do another cat scan with water this time. An hour later they give me special water to drink for the cat. Then while drinking the water I have another severe cramp and the doctor is there and actually sees it, they ask what's wrong. I say it's the same problem I told you about when I stepped in the door to the ER!!! It happed 5 times now!!!!! So finally they give me pain meds and I get the 2nd cat scan. BTW The doctor that was working with me all this time tells me his shift is over and leaves. The new doctor comes over knows nothing and starts asking me, what wrong, it's like I am starting all over!!!! Then an hour later, It's 9pm at this point they finally diagnose me with an intestinal infection and I need anti biotics. But guess what all the pharmacies are all closed. So I am writing this today after a second night of excruciating pain because I couldn't get my medication last night!!!!! Also side note they never asked me for my insurance info and just went with some old one on file, I get an e-mail this morning from the pharmacy they cannot fill my prescription until I get them the correct info. Just want I want to do this am. I am still in horrible pain, I have to take the subway now to the pharmacy, give them the new info and I assume wait like an hour till they can fill it. I am in so much pain and really angry, I spent about 9 hours in the ER!!!!!!!! I am having horrible cramping as I write this review.

Absolutely unacceptable wait times. If I'm making an appointment for something AND I go early, as requested, why am I waiting over an hour, sometimes 2, to be seen? Not okay, very disrespectful to the patient.
Hire more people or stop overscheduling.

DO NOT GO TO WOODHULL HOSPITAL UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. I visited for a serious foot injury and it was a nightmarish experience. I had to wait half an hour to see anybody despite waiting in the ER, and then was forced to sit in a bed for over an hour waiting on the "transport team" to bring me a wheelchair to visit the X-Ray room (despite the fact that I was brought into this bed using a wheelchair). Upon my third follow up about this wheelchair, the staff told me to just walk myself or use a cane despite my injury. I refused, so they finally gave me crutches and made me walk myself to the X-Ray room that was literally across the hall the entire time (and yes, I had to open doors myself while on crutches because they wouldn't when I asked). The only reason I had to wait that long while in dire pain was because the staff was too busy gossiping and making incredibly inappropriate remarks about their patients. Then by the time I was supposed to get my discharge papers, an actual emergency situation arose with a patient injury that was incredibly traumatic. Staff refused to let me wait in another room while the patient screamed in agony for 30 minutes, and insulted me for asking someone to simply hand me my papers that were sitting on a table five feet away so I could leave. Before I left, a nurse literally asked me why the doctors were letting me leave empty handed when my foot looked entirely deformed. I had no answer. My visit to Woodhull was overly long, incredibly traumatic, and I somehow left in more pain than I was when I arrived. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. If you go into the Woodhull ER with a life-threatening injury, there's a non zero chance that you'd simply die in the waiting room as they take an hour to acknowledge your presence.

I labored here with my son , who is now 3 months. It was the best experience of my life . My prenatal care was also here. The staff was amazinggggggggggg . To name a few Ms Monique, allll the nurses, midwife Cindy,Ms Hope .those were the people for my prenatal care . The midwives for my actual birth and nurses also did not disappoint. I was in labor for 4 days .My baby was healthy I was healthy our hearts were great. I was induced. We labored with my doula as well. I had a birth plan my wonderful nurses, midwives and doctors stuck to it. I gave birth to a beautiful bouncing baby boy and my care was amazing. Thank you woodhull I’ll be back with my care team name , during birth once I find the paper !

For being a very busy emergency room, I saw the hospital staff prioritize based on medical situations. There definitely were people there who did not need to be in the emergency room. Which doesn't help staff whatsoever. My medical situation was very low priority, and after a bit of a wait, I got stitched up from a bad motorcycle fall. Medical staff was efficient and pleasant. I felt comfortable visiting.

I had a terrible experience at this hospital recently when I took my brother in for chest pain. We spent over four hours waiting in the lobby before he was finally taken to a room, all while he was in pain. Once we got into the room, the doctors didn’t communicate with me about what was happening or what they were doing, and some of them seemed clueless. One nurse repeatedly told my brother he’d be getting an X-ray in 10 minutes, but we ended up waiting 30 minutes or more with no X-ray in sight. Meanwhile, there were people yelling in nearby rooms, adding to the chaos. After my brother finally got his X-ray, another staff member showed up saying they were there to give him an X-ray again, even though he had just had one. The overall experience was disorganized, and both the doctors and nurses were rude and unwelcoming.

Dr.Decrisce was wonderful. He’s a psychiatrist in the mental health intake department. He took the time out to explain everything to me and didn't rush my visit with him which i am thankful for. He seen my concerns and addressed them accordingly with efficiency. Thank you so much dr.decrisce! Also special mention to my nurse for the night ms.ruff smith. You both made my visit manageable and less stressful.
