I don't know how this business exists. They are a mess.
They scheduled me for a phone appointment to hear my test results. Weird. They feel the need to charge us money just to give test results on a scheduled phone call. Why not just call me and not charge me for a minute long phone call? Okay...whatever. I guess charging me for that can be thing. But maybe, just maybe, the phone appointment should take place during the scheduled time of the phone appointment? Instead, I was called two hours before my appointment. So, I picked up a phone call at a random time and I was charged for an appointment after a 30 second phone call. Just like that, I owe them a co-pay. I told my provider that I was busy driving in an area with poor cell signal and I was not prepared to have THIS conversation. She forced it on me anyway. Which is bad for several reasons. The most basic reason is, she didn't ask me if anyone else was in the vehicle with me. She just told me my test results without knowing that I was alone. She was in too much of a hurry to care whether or not she was violating HIPAA rules. Sorry if I don't under HIPAA rules but maybe, just maybe, someone was in that car with me and I didn't want to explain to them what testing I had and why. During the call, I could barely understand what she said but I couldn't stop her from talking. I couldn't ask a follow up question. This was, at most, a 45 second phone call.

It gets worse. They charged me for this "appointment." Seven months and many hours of my time were wasted before they decided to forgive this charge. Why were seven months and hours of my time wasted? This company sucks. I would have never sunk this much time into avoiding such a small charge if I knew it was going to be this much of a PITA. Almost everyone I talked to agreed that I should not be charged for this "appointment" but no one could do anything about it. Many times I was promised a call back that I never received. Many times I was told the issue had been sorted out when it had not. A few times I was told that I need to talk to the "site administrator" for the Tehachapi office. FYI, Omni Family Health has about 20 locations in and around Kern County. I never talked to that person. I don't know who they are. I tried. I really did. I called. I showed up. I never heard from that person, even after being told, several times, I would be getting a call back from them, it never happened.

At one point, I was told I would get a call back from the billing department. Weeks later, they had not called me back. So I called again and somehow got a hold of them. They couldn't do anything for me. Still, I foolished asked why they didn't call me back. I was told that, I had already received a called back. it was in their call log for me. I asked them what the time and date was for that call, and looked in my phone history for it. They didn't call me. My phone's call log didn't show a call at that time. My cell phone carrier also didn't show any call at that time. Instead of calling me back, one of their employees made up a fake call with notes and everything. They just typed out what I had said in the message I left and pretended that they called me. I'm serious. It makes me feel as if I'm going crazy but this happened.

I finally found the number for their corporate office. I talked with a woman in corporate. She was okay. She understood what needed to be done. She agreed with everything I was saying. For some reason, my problem had to be run up the chain to the "chief medical officer." Really? Over this small charge, we have to get the chief medical officer involved? Why does the chief medical officer, for a company that has 20 locations, have to get involved for such a small dollar amount?

Billing called me in June. They told me I do not owe the money. Then they sent me a bill for it! I've been told by at least three people at Omni that I owe them nothing.

This was nearly a year long customer service caca storm.

But if I call into their billing system today, I still owe the money.

I have been hung up on 3 times trying to confirm my medication was sent. I have been on hold in total for over one hour. Some rude rep told me the provider has until 5 pm, but what if it isn't sent by that time and I can't even get ahold of anyone? Whoever booked my appt today was great, but it's always something with this company, and the same recycled response to these 1 star reviews. This organization is a tragedy, truly.

Hippa Violation for the second time in six years with Omni due to their front office staff. This time office staff forcing me to take a photo of my minor child whom I was holding . I requested the photo removed from my child’s chart who is a minor . The photo was taken without written consent, and I verbally denied the photo requesting the removal of my child who was not feeling well. The doctors are amazing in this facility. Their staff is highly questionable and do not abide by the governing laws to protect medical care. Anything that you do with your clients, including photographs need to have a signature, especially a minor child. I was also included in the photo and she did not ask me if I wanted a photo of myself either. I notified PD and I was informed to make a direct complaint to the governing body who handles complaints . It is the responsibility of the manager or office manager of his front office staff to ensure the comprehension of all HIPAA requirements to engage with patients and or clients. Otherwise, the medical professionals in this facility are impeccable!
Dr. Huges is an amazing pediatrician and I would recommend her to anyone for their children or familiarity needs .

I called the Tehachapi office referral and I was on hold for four hours and 40 something minutes waiting for someone to answer the phone then I call from Husband phone and push the button to call back and I wouldn’t lose my place in line and I waited two hours and 20 something minutes before I hung up Then I called back and went through the operator trying to speak to a supervisor and no prevail. I received this notice to call them and I tried to reach out to them, but this is how you treat which is a patient that has asthma and waiting for machine nonprofessional and maybe just because I’m black , because Office I left school form to be filled out so my son can get asthma on campus never got a call back went back because the doctor told me was filled out and no one could find it. You tell me or professional call the number. see how you stay on hold .

Their standard of care/bedside manner/basic customer service is non existent, there simply isnt any standard at this establishment. Special shout-out to Kim Tucker FNP on that one. Oh yeah and they also call you the day before to cancel an appointment you’ve had for weeks for a crucial health screening and basically offer zero alternatives or solutions. Goodluck! Front desk staff are pleasant and reason why 2 stars were even earned. Everything else is a zero especially Kim in case that wasn’t clear

I’ve been coming to this place since the beginning of the 2024 year and I have had nothing but the run around. First appointment made over the phone then when I went in they didn’t have me down and took me as a walk in even though I had the receptionist name and info who had made my appointment. Waited 4 1/2 hours to be seen just to be told they wanted blood work. I live two towns away and when trying to get my blood work scheduled it was going to be 5 weeks out. They suggested Quest diagnostics and that they’d send the referral over asap. Waited a week made my appointment with quest and when I arrived there was no referral found. Even the phlebotomist called and got the run around from Omni. 4 weeks later after calling every other day to see what was going on they decided to just mail it to me. So now again I need a referral with Keck and every single time they submit it to keck they mess something up and keck can’t accept it. I’ve been waiting 3 months for this and every time I call the referral dept they always say it takes a week to be submitted… How many weeks does it take to get the referral corrected?! I am sick of this place and the way they treat their patients. Yes we might have some crappy medí cal insurance but we also need and deserve respect and to get things done. Kern county has screwed us all over by not allowing people on the boarder of kern county to travel for medical into the neighboring counties. I am tired of this Omni place and the county. I have lived in this county for decades and have never had this many issues with a medical practice. I have tried to be understanding that I know they are swamped and have a lot of patients from all over coming in but it has literally been nothing but the run around with Omni. Even when I had an appointment to get my child the HPV vaccine they turned us away and told us to wait another month even though we were already late on the second dose. Thankfully Wesley’s in Lancaster allowed us to go get it done. Again I live two towns away from Tehachapi so when I come in it’s like planning a field trip with a 13YO and 3YO. I know this review is long, I am just tired of them and this whole facility. I can go on about all the in between appointments but it’s too much. And I know I’m going to get a comment/reply “we strive for 100%… yada yada”… don’t waste your fingers breath… I’ve read it on all the other truthful negative reviews.

l was told to fast for 12 hours to get bloodwork done, ended up having to do that two days in a row because the provider left early the day I was going to get my bloodwork done. Nobody calls you to notify you not to come. Nobody even called me to let me know I needed to fast before my original appointment. Oh, did I mention that I don’t live up there and I wasted 3/4 of a tank of gas to go up there two days in a row only to get my blood pressure and weight taken? After my original appointment I was told by the nurse to come in before 3 the next day. She said that if it was easier she could get the appointment in Lancaster and I said yes please then I don’t have to drive all the way out here only for her to be like actually no you can just come back here. Frustrated, I agreed so I could finally just leave. The next day when I came back was when I was told no provider, go home, fast again, come back in the morning. I told her no and asked her to get me the lab order for Lancaster. She did, telling me I still needed to request an appointment. I got one for the next afternoon. I was in that building, blood drawn, and on my way home in 11 minutes.

Go up
