One Medical: Copley Square - Boston, Massachusetts

My first visit was virtual, by my choice. My selected provider was wonderful: she really listened to me, asked relevant questions, was obviously very experienced an well-informed, was honest and caring, and I feel she is very trustworthy. She answered my questions, and right away, we started to create a treatment plan. I look forward to following up in person. I would recommend this practice based on this experience.

Poorly run and sloppy. They had to change my appt time day of. They’d also requested I come in for bloodwork, which was the only reason for my visit. I even put a note in the portal stating this. When I arrived, the lab was closed, meaning I’d have to come back.

When trying to schedule the follow up appt they said that 3 weeks was too far out to make an appt. I’ve never heard of a doctor or even vet who couldn’t make an appt less than a month away. This was the opposite of the kind of quality and experience I expect from OneMedical. The doctor stated plainly that she doesn’t read the Reason for the visit notes, was rushed, failed to explain next steps, and didn’t make sure things were taken care of with the lab and front desk. Truly just a terrible experience from start to finish.

Try the West End or Financial District location before this one. I’m honestly just disappointed and worried this is the new One Medical under Amazon.

I recently visited One Medical and, while my provider, Gina Joseph, took the time to listen to my concerns, the experience quickly went downhill after she sent me off for labs and additional testing.

There seemed to be significant miscommunication with the lab staff. Despite checking in with both the receptionist and lab tech to confirm that everything I needed—COVID and strep tests along with bloodwork—was being done, I realized when I got home that only the blood draw had been completed. When I called to clarify, I was told that no request had been made for a strep test, even though Gina had verbally confirmed it with me during our appointment.

Additionally, Gina had asked the lab tech to perform an ear irrigation to remove wax, but the lab tech refused, instructing me instead to go home and use Debrox before returning for the procedure. This felt disorganized and left me deeply frustrated.

Given the lack of communication and follow-through, I’m now questioning if I should find another PCP. This experience left a horrible taste in my mouth, and I would not recommend One Medical - Copley to any of my friends or family.

Just like my other experiences with One Medical, the provider was kind, informative, and timely. I got to spend all my time with the provider, discussing my concerns. The office is clean and tidy. It's definitely compact, compared to other locations. You'll need to check in at the security desk on the entrance floor with your name, which they'll have on file, and they'll let you through the security gate to the 6th floor.

It's super easy to get to from 🟠🟣🚍Back Bay and 🟢🚍Copley, if you're taking public transit.

The One Medical Boston team, including our fantastic physician Shadi Miri are warm, professional, caring and simply wonderful. I’m not sure those words have ever been written about a primary care physician practice but in our experience, they couldn’t be more true.

I have been a patient for about five years. One Medical used to provide excellent care before it was purchased by Amazon. Since 2021, my GP has been changed twice with little or no notice, and three of my annual physicals have been canceled, to the point where I was last seen in October 2022. When you can get in for an in-person appointment, the care is still good. The virtual “on demand” option is very poor, to the point where I have been misdiagnosed twice and warned not to use it by two different One Medical doctors. If you’re deciding among locations, the downtown Boston office is much more reliable than 185 Dartmouth.

Dr. Richardson is absolutely wonderful! I’m so happy I joined this practice after a few years of struggling to find a great PCP in Boston. I was able to book an appt so easily through the app. During my visit all of my questions were thoroughly answered and I was able to get labs done on site. So thorough and efficient. Everyone from the front desk staff, to the phlebotomist, to the provider was so warm, knowledgeable, and professional. I highly recommend OneMedical!
