It’s like pulling teeth to get anything done with them or to get an answer from them. They’ll confirm your appt then you’ll come in and they’ll tell you it’s been rescheduled.. there seems to be a lack of organization, communication and staff just seems lost and agitated. I think they need better management.

Complete garbage. Useless staff; don't care and it shows. Wonderful job adding that call center. Another layer of uselessness

The poor communication skills these people have. Their main focus is new patients. Not existing patients. I’ve sat on the phone getting the run around for hours. I wish Optum would get their shit together.

I called today to make an appointment at the West Hills office. I was told that I HAVE to see the doctor via webcam first and then the doctor will decide if I should go in. WHAT I am confused what a doctor’s role is anymore. It used to be that you made an in office visit for an issue or sickness, the doctor would do a physical check, ask some questions, maybe do some lab tests and come up with a potential diagnosis. Is thst too much to expect nowadays? It seems to me that the intent is to double charge for the same issue, first for a web visit and then for a physical one. I told the receptionist that I do not want to be charged for 2 visits, at which time she said she has to ask the doctor and get back with me. I have yet to receive a call back.

This place is horrible. I have made three appointments in the past 3 months for a basic annual physical, and 3 times they have phoned me the day of to cancel. This office is horribly run, just a miserable experience trying to get any care from Optum West Hills....avoid at all costs if you care about your health or your time

I have been going to see my doctor, Nurse Practitioner Norinda Kremicki for over 20 years. I have been very happy with the service I have received over the years. She is competent and very pleasant in her bedside manner. She cares about you and has always been very involved in my care. She has referred me to some excellent doctors. She has become our family doctor.

I have also seen several of the other doctors in the office and they have been very helpful in diagnosing medical issues and then referring out to specialists.

Wait times in the waiting room can range from 5 to 20 minutes, but it's a doctors office. What else would you expect? Waiting room is never never filled to the brim like my orthopaedic doctor's office. Nursing staff is always pleasant and caring.

My only gripe is that within the last year when you call the office, the call gets directed to a call center far away.

I recommend this office of Health Care Partners.

Please Optum, remove Dr. Garbutt from your rosters. 3 times he has refused to refill my: Lisinopril, Clonidine (cardiac meds for blood pressure) and non-controlled, Cyclobenzaprine (2 herniated discs) for severe muscle spasms. Dr. Garbutt finally filled the Cyclobenzapine after 7 days of calling his nurses and should be recorded.
Aren’t 3 acts of negligence toward 1 enough?

I have my notes on his negligence and can prove my side of this by comparing the electronic correspondence with CVS.

You wouldn’t want your own family to be treated with such negligent patient care. Was Dr. Garbutt demoted from working alongside Dr. Taban to a GP? Based on my case, it seems quite possible.

I am planning go to UTLA and tell my story so that when open enrollment for teachers happens, maybe they’ll feel moved or at least recognize his that a different choice, Kaiser or Facey might be worth changing to.

Too bad Dr. Garbutt makes the amazing nursing/office staff look bad. Patients don’t deserve this negligent care. Please remove Dr. Garbutt, he’ll find somewhere else to work.

The absolute worst because I can't image a group being more incompetent. I wait on hold for forty minutes to get hung up on after calling for weeks just to get a medication refill. The only lab they use (LabCorp) lost my results, they told us that our daughter probably had a brain tumor over the phone, which she didn't, and then ordered the wrong MRI. Run far and fast or they may kill you.
