These people were amazing!!! I've had AFib at least 9 times in two different states, 4 hospitals. This was, BY FAR, the best experience I've had in a hospital. I checked into the ER at 730a and was out by 11 am, with defibrillation! Usually, it takes 4 days. They had me laughing and cutting up the whole time. Shout out to MENurses-Matt (intake), Ryan, Erick, Taylor, and the X-ray guy with the A+, #1 curtsy! Thanks for fixing me up; even if I didn't get superpowers on my 8th defibrillaton! And Orlando Health, please reward this team with some new equipment. Added picture of the "Emergency 51" defibrillator; which still works great, BTW!

Exceptional Service from Vanessa Jimenez – Scheduling Department
I want to express my sincere gratitude to Vanessa Jimenez for her outstanding assistance in scheduling my uncle's PET scan. She truly went above and beyond to ensure everything was arranged smoothly and quickly. From the start, Vanessa demonstrated incredible professionalism, patience, and attention to detail.
She took the time to explain every step of the process, answered all my questions, and made sure all the necessary paperwork and logistics were in place. What stood out most was her dedication to making sure my uncle received the care he needed without any delays, especially during such a stressful time for our family.

Had a recent Colonoscopy with Dr. Ruiz. Nursing staff were very friendly. Gave me a heated blanket which was nice. Anesthesiologist and his assistant were thorough in explaining what to expect. The assistant even held my hand as she put me to sleep to assure me everything will be alright. When I woke up I did not feel groggy or sore. After a week, they called me and explained about the result and a clean bill of health. Next appointment in 10 yrs! The endoscopy area was also quiet and clean.

Place could be ran a lot better there's a lot of positive things like the food was good for my mom but poor communication between nurses and doctors about discharge almost all nurses was great except one CNA was very unprofessional and had a attitude at the end of her shift every time her name was Astrid and she was training a new CNA I get the job is stressful but if you cant handle it then you shouldn't be working there that and one doctor didn't know how to put an IV in worth the life of him and bruised her up she's healing finally after 2 weeks overall I'm thankful for the care but could of been 10X better at Holmes Regional

I wouldn't come back to this hospital even if I was about to die. I'm not even sure where to begin! Check in people are rude, nurses are even worse, you almost never get to speak to a doctor, it's always a PA and they also seem to have some kind of attitude. If you don't like the career you chose then why take the job at all? The waiting room is one of the smallest I've ever seen, and intake is seriously violating HIPPA by leaving the door open while taking vitals and talking about the problem at hand. Sometimes you don't even get to the back room, someone who's not even a doctor is allowed to diagnose and treat you and send you on your way home after the entire lobby hears what's wrong with you. My husband is here being seen, I've been here since 11am with him. He passed out after turning blue from lack of oxygen. We are still in a back room waiting to be transferred to his actual room. They told us he was being admitted at 4pm after I through a fit about them not taking him passing out seriously. We have been here 3 times this month. Each time a different contradicting diagnosis. They don't even know what wrong and keep playing guessing games with my husbands life. He was also told multiple times multiple different visits that he did not have a hernia until today, when an actual doctor finally spoke with him and told him he absolutely does have a hernia on top of what's going on with him. I called patient advocacy, no answer, left a message no call back. This is severe medical neglect at its finest. This is the most disgusting hospital I've ever had to deal with. With the most disgusting people working here. Just nasty vile things being set out loud that they don't understand we can hear. It almost seems like every nurse here is more focused on how long their hair is their lashes and their nails. It's like walking into a beauty contest instead of a place to treat sick patients that are possibly dying. After waiting 3 hours for a blanket I finally hunted down anybody I could find to get one for my husband who's been shaking for hours cold. I just asked again at 8:00 p.m. when is he being transferred to his room? He was admitted at 4:00 and is still sitting in the back. I was then told "I don't know if we're getting beds tonight" seriously?!!! Your a hospital! Is this really how Orlando health treats his patients? He's supposed to be in a room monitored by machines right now all night long so we can figure out what's going on. I don't care who comes in with a little cut or a cold My husband literally passed out two days in a row from no oxygen intake! And since he's being admitted I count that as being more severe than others. Since they keep saying it goes based off of priority why is this not a priority? I will be hiring a lawyer, this is a giant lawsuit at hand. No wonder why they keep changing their name from wusthof, to Steward medical, to Melbourne regional medical, and now to Orlando health. You can change the name from being sued so many times but you can't replace the crappy employees here? Really? And you wonder why you keep getting sued!

Profits over people. I'll be giving my doctor 5 stars on his website because he was great. And 5 stars for the anesthesiologist and the pre-op nurse April, who were great, 5 Stars for the RN Sarah, who went into the surgery with me was also great, and 5 stars to Fran, the woman who took care of me post-op and got me ready for discharge. She was absolutely wonderful. As for the 1 Star. Well I was scheduled for surgery here and a couple days before they called me. They told me that after my insurance it would be a couple thousand dollars and asked how would I like to pay that. Told them I don't have that kind of money and I'd like to set up a payment plan. The woman said they expect the full payment before for surgery and asked if i can you pay 50%. Gave her the same answer again and told her let me look at my budget and when I come in I'd like to talk about a payment plan. She said okay she'll put it in the notes. Got there at 5:30 a.m. for my surgery and checked in with Admissions. The woman at the admissions test told me that Orlando Health Melbourne Hospital expects you to pay in full payment or at least 50%. Told her I told the woman on the phone I'd like to talk about a payment plan like other place do. She said she had to call someone to see if that was okay. No privacy at the admissions desk and while I was waiting I could hear her tell someone else that she texted someone about me and another patient twice and hasn't heard back yet. (I could also hear her conversations with every single person who checked in at that time). So as I'm sitting there waiting and reading through all the paperwork they gave me I'm reading, under Payment Policy, it says that while payment in full is expected at the time of service it also says "If you are unable to pay your balance in full staff is available to answer any questions as well as discuss our financial assistance program and payment options". Finally, almost an hour later, they called me over to the desk and told me yes I could set up a payment plan and I made a very small payment, which I didn't have to at the time, but I wanted to in good faith because I didn’t want them to think I was going to stiff them. After all this waste of time, by the time they took me to pre-op, the pre-op surgical team told me that because of the holdup at the front they have to rush a little to get me ready for my surgery. That was a little concerning but I could tell everyone involved (RN, anesthesiologist, Etc) was experienced so that did make me feel better but still, perfect opportunity to make a mistake when you're rushing, a mistake which can turn out to be DEADLY. Wonder if that's why this hospitals15-day readmission rate is 7.83, higher than the Statewide rate of 6.37, and the facility overall rating is 55% whereas the state average is 66% (that info is and the stack of paperwork they give you). This hold up at Admissions is unacceptable. Not only does it put my health in jeopardy by forcing the pre-op team to rush but just as importantly, it puts them in a bad position too.

Brought friend to hospital who was complaining of pain throughout her body. Checked in and was seen swiftly. Told the physician that her pain level was 10 constantly. Physican never closes the door so everyone in the waiting area hears every question and answer. After taking 2 tests, she was told to wait for the results of her scan. That's when things got crazy. There was hardly anyone in the waiting area, yet my friend was somehow forgotten. She had to wait in pain while staff joked and ĺet everyone knew their upcoming plans. I asked the intake nurse if she could get anything for her pain while she waited. She went to inform the doctor. Took a while for the doctor to show up with 2 muscle relaxers. Said they were still waiting for the results. Time passed, and my friend asked if she could have a blanket to keep warm. The nurse told her yes and went away. 10 minutes later, the intake nurse came and asked if she received the blanket. After telling her "No," the intake nurse went to get it. The walls are not thick, so you could hear the non-professional responses coming from the nurse who initially said she would get the blanket. The intake nurse had to remind her jokingly to be nice. Didnt expect a nasty attitude from staff in a not busy time at the hospital. Only reason for the 1 star is the intake nurse who was actually nice and patient and attentive. Otherwise it would be blank.
