I had several surgeries with Dr. Callander of the last ten years!! I have both hips and both knees replaced by him. The surgeries all went well and the staff at his office was outstanding. My last knee was replaced in October and I am working out again!!
Dr Callander is very knowledgeable and has a wonderful sense of humor. I highly recommend him if you need knee or hip surgery!

Dr. Callander was my (49M) surgeon for left-side BHR hip resurfacing surgery back in August 2024. He and his team did an outstanding job, They did the surgery in the morning and I was back on my feet and walking (with crutches) by the early afternoon. Their anesthesia team was great, I was out cold for the procedure. I had no complications, and was walking without a cane after about 2.5 weeks. 5 months later and I am able to walk, bike, and even run without any pain. I highly recommend him and the Presidio Surgery Center if you need top notch care for your hip. His PA Johnna Walker also provided excellent post-op care for me.

I had both left and right hips replaced by Dr. Callander. I have the matching pair. I would never have considered anyone other than Dr. Callander and his amazing staff for such a surgery. I am a golfer and my ability to golf is very important to me. Dr. Callendar gave me back my life style. Over all experiences and outcome is nothing short of stellar!!!!

Got an appointment with Dr Calledar within a short time.
Very efficient Dr.pretty clear what was needed THR. Stated he could do it as was the physician assistant. I would be able to go home the same day
Thought the procedure could be done within 2 months of my appointment.
I was wrong as the surgeon scheduler called and said surgery could be done in 5-6 months. Too long !!!
Strange since a good friend of mine saw the doctor’s colleague the following day and he has an appointment mid January for surgery

Doctor Peter Callendar is the best surgeon ever! I know him from 2011, when he did for me hip replacement surgery, then in 2014 other hip replacement surgery. Recently, in 2025, doctor helped me to cure excruciating pain in knee - took him 15 min to diagnose the problem and to help with couple of procedures, no surgery needed. While two other orthopedic surgeons I’ve seen before him suggested knee replacement surgery.
I can walk again!

Dr Callander was personable and professional. He listened, gave me options and the space to make my treatment decision. And best of all, he did NOT believe I needed a knee replacement at this time, as another provider had suggested… i will try an alternative treatment, which could give me a surgery free few years.
