Where can I start? There are so many great things to say about Dr Afflack but one thing for sure, there is no Doctor that is as caring and amazing as her. I have never met a physician in my life who is as warm and understanding as Dr Afflack. She is a wonderful human being who offers concierge services who goes above and beyond for her patients to accommodate them and make them feel as little stress as possible, especially with their appointments. She is smart and extremely knowledgeable about her field. Dr Afflack was highly recommended to me from a friend who was seeing her throughout her pregnancy and I am so grateful that I was also able to have the same care through mine. I highly recommend Dr Afflack for anyone who wants a different experience for their pregnancy. You will most certainly get the one on one care and be guided on what to expect throughout your pregnancy and post partum that is beyond just having your baby. I love Dr Afflack and it was an honor to have her as my practitioner.

Dr. Afflack is simply the best doctor I’ve ever met. I’m in medical sales and have met/known literally hundreds of doctors and, hands down, she is the best doctor (maybe human) I’ve met. Bedside manner is impeccable and her level of knowledge and expertise is deep. One of the specialists she referred me to who is very well known and incredibly smart has even commented on her knowledge and skill level. As a first time mom, I really appreciated her philosophy of preparing you not just physically for birth, but also mentally—for birth AND parenthood—as well as my partner. She coached him just as much as me and always left us with an important topic to discuss or prepare for. If you’re looking for an incredibly personable, knowledgeable, calm, confident, kind, compassionate doctor look no further. I truly believe that there’s no one in LA, or even in the country, that provides what she does.

It is with great sadness that I am revising my original review for Dr. Afflack. She is an amazing doctor and I felt lucky to have found her when preparing to get pregnant- however, by the time I actually needed her she decided to stop accepting insurance of any kind and I feel abandoned. It is extremely difficult to find a new OBGYN in this area with nearly no appointments available anywhere and it was shocking to find that the one I spent months searching for is no longer helping those that aren’t fabulously wealthy.

My original review: “It may be hard to believe that Dr. Afflack only has five star reviews, but speaking from personal experience she is the best doctor I have ever met - it truly is a pleasure and an honor to have her expertise and warmth on the journey to my first pregnancy. From the moment you meet her she is kind, knowledgeable, friendly, comfortable and deeply compassionate. She doesn’t try to sell you anything (as past gynos/OBGYNs I have visited have) and takes the time to listen to your health history, health goals, your dynamic with your partner, and even just friendly discussions. She works closely with midwives and doulas as well so I feel comfortable knowing she is open to a variety of birth plans. Her office feels just like a home, not a doctor’s office, and I was pleasantly surprised to find her doing casual medical research as I walked into my appointment. Thank you Dr. Afflack for providing our area with a genuinely intelligent and loving option for such an intimate medical need. I have recommended her to my friends looking for a doctor that will take their concerns seriously and I can’t wait to deliver with her.”

Dr. Afflack is fantastic: elevated acumen and experience from a heart-centered, compassionate OB. We had had challenges with the birth of my first son under the care of someone else. Dr. Afflack guided me through her take on that situation without judgment but in a way that I was confident her patience and experience could have effected a different outcome. She has real joy living her life and doing her work, and that joy is delightfully infectious and inspiring. I’m so glad my second child was smoothly guided into the world by her and then straight into my arms. Any future children will be delivered by her.

7/23 UPDATE: Great initial first visit then I was ghosted/ ignored for the follow up care that was promised. This is after me following up myself a few times. Disappointed because I really was hoping to continue with this provider. Not sure what happened but after me trying to follow up and no response I gave up.

Original review: Today was my first time visiting this office after trying to find a black woman culturally competent provider for a long time. Experienced some birth trauma with my second child and my last OB. I can’t even fully express how I feel in this review but let me just say from the moment I walked in to the moment I left I felt heard, seen, understood, and cared for. Not only did she listen to my concerns about recurring abdominal pain and the lack of care I had from my previous provider but she actually took the time to show me a visual representation of that was going on with me internally and took the time to explain step by step what happened to my body. The exam didn’t even feel like a typical sterile exam. It was comfortable, I felt safe, and I could tell she had not just care and empathy but expertise and professionalism. Thank you for being a part of my healing. So happy I found this provider. Support staff is also beyond kind and accommodating.

Dr. Afflack is one of the kindest human beings I've ever met and treats her patients as people. I cannot imagine delivering my first baby without her. She made a very scary, stressful, and traumatizing time in my life as smooth as possible. An advocate for her patients and their wishes as well as making sure everyone is safe and healthy. I trust her with my life and my baby's life.

Excellent bedside manner, very warm and inviting personality, and quick and efficient. Probably the best GYN experience for me thus far. I forgot I was at the doctor's office, and honestly, we should put more emphasis on doctors having personalities and being easy to talk to. It makes any procedure easier to deal with. Would definitely recommend Dr. Afflack. She was also very patient and didn't complain after I was a few mins late.

Doctor Afflack was friendly, warm, and personable, and she made me feel comfortable right away. She feels like a friend that you've known forever.
