When my husband and I met Brent Auslander, who is in charge of Preferred Care at Home of Metrowest Boston, we were pleasantly pleased at how thoroughly and quickly he knew what It was that I needed.
I wanted to get rid of Stuff that was no longer needed, but also go through bins full of photos and memorabilia.
The young woman who helped me was terrific! We made a game out of, "How many of the same photo do I need to keep of only 1 of our grandchildren?"
But when she recognized and understood how hard it was for me
to make so MANY decisions on what to keep and what to give up... That 's when I realized she was priceless!

Preferred Care at Home (PCAH) is everything I could ask for in a major time of need! When my 81-year-old father needed to undergo emergency heart surgery a few months ago, I was suddenly scrambling to find qualified and caring in-home support services to support him as he slowly regained his post-surgical independence and mobility. I made several calls based on online searches and reviews, but Brent at PCAH stood out immediately as being above-and-beyond typical in-home services.

He responded to my inquiries immediately (within the same day, while I was waiting in the hospital during my dad's operation) and he spent time with me, both on the phone and in-person, patiently gathering information about our specific family situation and needs. I felt, and still feel, like he really understands my concerns when it comes to finding the right care for my father. He took the time to meet my father in the hospital and pair us up with the RIGHT caregiver - someone who would encourage my dad's recovery and provide companionship in a deeply vulnerable time. The PCAH caregiver Brent found for us is an absolute angel - a bright light in what could have otherwise been a horrific time for our family. She treats my dad and our family with so much kindness and respect - they cook together, they pray together, and I can see my dad's confidence and mobility improving steadily with her support. He looks forward to her visits and she allows me to return to my own work/life with the peace of mind that my dad is well cared-for when I'm away.

In addition, as my dad continues regaining some independent mobility and our care needs shift, PCAH has been extremely flexible and easy to work with in adjusting our caregiver's schedule. I recommend PCAH to anyone who wants to support their aging parent in a home-setting. I cannot thank PCAH (and Brent) enough for taking so much time and care to help us out.
