Dr Claire Lyons compared taking birth control with migraines to drunk driving which was inappropriate and made me feel shamed in making a medical decision about myself, and Lindsay Crossan continually referenced Dr Lyons opinions when I asked for a new provider and came into the appointment
biased against me because of this

I was actually so scared for my visit based on the previous reviews. I have anxiety with doctor’s offices regardless. However, I had an AMAZING experience. Everyone I encountered was so nice! The front desk staff, the assistant who took me back and took my vitals, my Dr, Dr Scott, and the person who took my blood. I could even hear some other workers making calls, etc. and they were very kind and patient from what I could hear as well. I was one of the last patients of the day and the lab even very kindly took my blood after 5pm. I’m honestly not sure where the bad reviews came from or maybe I got lucky I’m not sure but I personally would recommend this office.

I have been with BMC Charles River for over 4 years. This is absolutely the worst medical practice I’ve ever been to; the team insist on unnecessary in person consultations for routine prescription refills (I can only presume this is to drive revenue for the practice), I’ve had 4 different primary care doctors in 4 years (no one stays in this practice which is a warning sign in and off itself), sometimes the front desk staff are amazing and often they’re not. There is almost nothing patient-centric about this practice and I would avoid at all costs. The only reason I’ve stayed this long is the long wait lists at other decent medical practices. I’m glad to say I’ve finally left their (lack of) care.

CNA/PCA is very loud when communicating to the NP and asked me why I came to the appointment rather than explain that the results won’t read and told the practicioner I would rather be in bed then proceeded to speak in a different language. Furthermore, I waited 25 minutes for a flu shot…and told the staff I would rather go to CVS if the nurses are busy. Nurse said she would be right out I waited an additional 10 and walked out. CVS was much quicker and professional. altogether unprofessional especially coming from healthcare background.

I had an appointment at the practice and I called to let them know that I was lost and was given very little help finding it. I arrived about 15 minutes late due to this and was told that I would have to reschedule after this was their only availability for about 2 months after I initially called. They felt bad after I said I wouldn't reschedule and allowed me to have the appointment. Dr. Naik came in and immediately let me know that because I was late it would be a rushed appointment and we wouldn't have time for a full evaluation. I have trauma from my IUD insertion and pelvic exams are very painful for me. Dr. Naik was not only dismissive of this when I brought it up saying that it was normal, but also continued the exam while I was crying and clearly uncomfortable while making comments about how she couldn't find my cervix and that my tension was making it worse. After not being able to find my cervix, she gave up on doing a pap smear and told me to come back another time. I didn't reschedule for a follow up here due to the treatment I received. 2 stars because they took me even though I arrived late and the initial nurse who brought me back was friendly.

I was horribly treated by a nurse practitioner here. She diagnosed me as diabetic, promised to prescribe a medication and then cut off communication with me. I ended up in an emergency room. During my time with her, she referred me to the Charles River dermatologist. That appointment was so awful, I will never forget it. Based on how that dermatologist talked to me, scowling all the while, I believe he is a racist. The nurses' behavior at Charles River can range from friendly and cordial to surly and inattentive. These people are not welcoming of homeless patients, so if you are homeless, beware!

My PCP (Dr. Lyons) has been nothing but amazing. She actually listens and believes you. Sometimes there’s delays for in person appointments, but nothing crazy.

Absolutely horrible. I worked with a nurse practitioner named Joanne Judy who was extremely unhelpful. I told her about my symptoms medical history issues and all 3 separate issues she had no knowledge and no recommendations at all. Not only that I told her my joints hurt from my medication and she had to GOOGLE THE ISSUE. a professional GOOGLED my medication sertraline and the issues INFRONT OF ME! She wouldn't even help me with my issues of my joints, my anti depressants and not only.that get prescriptions from my past PCP since I moved from a whole new state. She goes on to say she needed a written letter from my last PCP about my meds and history in order to refill my needed meds and she STILL DIDNT DO IT! HER AND HER DIRECTOR/MANAGER, TERRIBLE. They made things very difficult for my move and I would NEVER reccomend such people who make it hard for their patients and under knowledge staff to treat patients like that. I would call HR or anything else after my 1 visit. I cannot stress the unhelpfulness of their nurse I worked with and her director who apparently did not want to help me unless I went through a therapist and then psychiatrist over medication I've been taking for years. They are people who just want money
