I’ve been a patient here for several years but only seen the other providers who were previously there and I’ve never had any issues or complaints about the previous providers but I will never recommend this place to anyone as long as the current provider Vanessa Akines is working there. She is disgustingly unprofessional! She has a horrible attitude and gets extremely worked up when you ask questions. I had a terrible first visit with her. I’ve already been in contact with her supervisor because her behavior is disgusting and concerning. Vanessa shouldn’t even be near patients by the way she acts and treats patients, she needs to be a patient herself. I’ve never encountered a provider who is hostile and rude the moment she walks into your room. She is not nice, caring, or compassionate like a provider should be. Providers like Vanessa gives Oroville hospital a bad reputation. If I could give 0 stars, I would, but I guess this 1 star is for the friendly staff named Stephanie.

Patients deserve respect, compassion, and attentive care. When healthcare professionals fall short of these standards, it not only affects the patient’s physical well-being but can also have a lasting emotional impact. Nurse Practitioner Vanessa Akines should be held accountable for her actions, and the hospital’s management must take patient concerns seriously.

Improper treatment can lead to distrust in the healthcare system and discourage individuals from seeking necessary medical attention. Oroville Hospital should make it a priority to ensure that patients feel heard, valued, and well-cared for.

This situation underscores the need for better training, communication, and compassion within the healthcare system. Patients are not merely cases; they are human beings with genuine concerns, and their voices should be respected and taken into consideration. Healthcare providers, like Oroville Hospital, should aim for patient-centered care and strive to do better by their patients.

Worst experience I've ever had and I never even saw the provider. Front desk staff needs some serious training in customer service. After calling in this morning, I was told there had just been a cancellation and they could fit me in at 3:15 which I wrote down and also confirmed with the woman. So, I took off work to be at my appointment on time but when I arrived, I checked in and sat there for about 5-7 mins before the receptionist called me up to the desk to tell me my appointment had been at 1:15 and I had "misunderstood" when making the appointment earlier in the day. She then told me they were "too busy" to see me today even though the entire lobby was completely EMPTY. I made sure the receptionist was aware that the woman I spoke with earlier had told me 3:15 and that I really needed to be seen today but she kept arguing that it was my fault and they were too busy to fit me in and that I'd have to reschedule. She said that since I was a new patient, they weren't willing to squeeze me in today because I guess you aren't a priority if you are a new patient. The receptionist never once apologized for the mishap or tried to rectify the situation at all. And the lady who actually made the appointment just sat there in silence pretending I wasn't there during the whole conversation. Needless to say, I'll never go back here.

This place is terrible, the front desk people forget stuff all the time and are extremely rude and unprofessional. I would not recommend going here if your serious about your health. Very dismissive here.
