I want to share my wonderful experience at the maternity department at Providence Mission Hospital, especially with Nurse Sherrie. She was truly my angel during the delivery of my second baby. From the moment I met her , Sherrie showed incredible professionalism, care, and compassion. She has a beautiful soul and made me feel safe, supported, and truly cared for throughout the entire process.

Her calm presence, knowledge, and encouragement made this experience the best it could possibly be. I’m so grateful to have had her by my side—she is hands down the best nurse I’ve ever had!

I also want to extend my appreciation to the entire maternity team. Every nurse I encountered was kind, attentive, and professional. Providence Mission Hospital’s maternity department is exceptional, and I highly recommend it to any expecting mother.

This hospital truly feels like a paradise. The staff are not only highly professional but also incredibly kind and compassionate. Every aspect of our experience—from multiple visits to the emergency room to a family member’s hospitalization—was handled with such care and efficiency that we never felt overwhelmed or stressed. Each visit exceeded our expectations. One of the most impressive moments was when I went to settle a large, unexpected medical bill and was offered an interest-free installment plan without any hassle. I’m deeply grateful for this extraordinary place and for every hardworking individual who makes it run so smoothly. Their dedication is nothing short of miraculous.

I received the best care today. Each person who helped me, from check-in, ultrasound, meeting with the PA, to my discharge, was kind and professional! I was expecting a very different experience going to the ER. This is an excellent hospital with caring professionals!

I am extremely disappointed with the level of care and professionalism at this hospital. This is not the first time we have experienced issues with their service.

Yesterday (05/27/25 at 3:30 pm), my patient (mother), who has stage 4 cancer, was suffering from severe side effects from chemotherapy. She was unable to stay upright and was in urgent need of medical attention. Despite explaining her condition clearly to the front nurse and emphasizing the urgency, she was completely dismissed and denied treatment (or offer a proper transfer to another hospital). The nurse questioned why we believed our patient's situation was urgent, even asking if she had passed out before bringing her to the emergency room. She then remarked that if the patient were to have a stroke, they might consider accepting her as an urgent patient. This dismissive attitude and lack of appropriate response are unacceptable, especially considering the legal obligation under EMTALA, which requires hospitals to provide screening and stabilization to emergency patients regardless of their ability to pay or the severity of their condition.

Additionally, I was the only caregiver who took her to the emergency room (my husband drove to hospital and joint us later after the nurse started arguing me), and I am pregnant. This added concern for both our health and safety (I had severe cramps and numbness on my knees immediately after we left this hospital) yet the hospital staff did not respond appropriately to these circumstances.

Furthermore, we have a prior complaint regarding this hospital’s inadequate handling of my patient’s care even during hospitalization between March 19-26. Just one day after a major surgery, the doctor (gastroenterologist) attempted to discharge her prematurely while she was still in need of ongoing help mentioning that there's a lot of patients with flu ,downstairs in emergency room . They did not place her prescribed medications at the pharmacy for pickup, and subsequently canceled the orders without notifying us. This forced us to run from one pharmacy to another, begging for the necessary medications so she could continue her recovery at home safely.

Overall, these repeated incidents highlight a pattern of neglect and poor communication, which is deeply concerning given the vulnerability of patients like my loved one. I urge the hospital management to review their policies, staff training, and adherence to legal standards to ensure that patients—especially those with life-threatening conditions—are treated with the respect, compassion, and care they deserve based on acuity in the first place.

Hospitals ER had the worst Nurse ever.
On Sunday afternoon room #17 - I was in ER from 9-3. Dr was so good. He ordered all the necessary test. So polite. But the young lady nurse was unexpected rude and unprofessional. Have never seen any nurse like that.
Sorry I always thought mission Hospital was the best!! I am so sorry there was no manager in there . I asked several times but no results.

I chose to deliver my baby at this hospital because my gynecologist has an affiliation with it, which gave me a sense of trust. During our initial hospital tour, we were warmly welcomed and provided with a wealth of information about what to expect and how to prepare for the delivery experience. The room we were shown during the tour was impressively large and airy, which made me feel hopeful about my upcoming stay.

Upon my arrival for delivery, I was escorted to my delivery room by a friendly nurse named Stephani, who greeted me with a warm smile and a reassuring demeanor. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the entire nursing staff in the delivery room was attentive and quick to respond to my needs, making the experience as comfortable as possible.

However, my feelings changed dramatically when I was transferred to my postpartum room. It was noticeably smaller, making me feel cramped as if the space had been squeezed for our comfort. Although the hospital promotes the importance of having a support person with the new mother, I was disheartened to discover that meals were only provided for the mother and not for the support person. This left my partner scrambling to figure out meal options on their own, which felt unfair and added to the stress of the situation.

The food offered during my stay was lacking in both quality and quantity, which was disappointing given the circumstances. I had expected nourishing meals to help me recover after childbirth. To add to my unease, the nurses in the postpartum unit did not seem very friendly; some even came off as a bit rude. As a first-time mom, I found myself overwhelmed and uncertain about breastfeeding. I was struggling with supply issues, and when I sought help, I was only told to reach out to the lactation nurse. Unfortunately, she was only available for a few hours in the morning, leaving me without guidance at critical times.

After spending two days in the hospital without resolving my breastfeeding challenges, I began to feel desperate and considered leaving. In the evening, a nurse warned me that if my baby didn’t receive enough nourishment, it could lead to serious problems. This warning felt too late; I wondered why I hadn’t received this level of concern during my first day. Ultimately, my partner and I decided to bottle-feed our baby and made the choice to leave the hospital early. My overall experience during postpartum care was far from satisfactory, and I would not recommend this hospital to anyone seeking support during such an important time.

First off I want to thank everyone involved in my care last March 2024- May 2024. I literally wouldn't be here if not for you. (I'm not going to name any names for your privacy) But I want to thank Every Dr., GI (Dr and department), PA-C, RN, Radiology, Ultrasound techs, MRI personnel, CT techs, Lab personnel, Dietary, and all others involved. I do want to thank the very kind Phlebotomy female, you know who you are, who always got a blood draw on first attempt. Thanks to your hard work and patience, I'm not dead and made a speedy recovery. Again thank you and anyone who reads this just know I went to Saddleback first and they discharged me with a 6" cyst on my pancreas. Mission caught it and ensured I didn't go home until it was completely drained. I had other life threatening issues as well, that were addressed and I'm forever grateful!
