I am grateful that I didn't let reviews influence my decision when choosing this facility. Over the past 6 months, my 5-year-old autistic son has been undergoing speech therapy twice a week, and for the last 3 months, he has been participating in occupational therapy once a week. Witnessing significant growth and development in him, we have observed an overall positive response to the therapy sessions.

Speech Therapy Sessions
Our son works with two wonderful therapists who consistently communicate with us before or after each session. Their seamless collaboration ensures the best treatment plan. They make sessions enjoyable, contributing significantly to his language development. Both therapists are passionate and caring, making a positive impact on our son's well-being.

Occupational Therapy Sessions
The initial evaluation session was quite positive. When retiring for results and treatment plan, my son thoroughly enjoyed the gym area, and I was provided with evaluation results and a rundown of the policies. However, there was an element that left me uneasy: the plan for my son to spend the initial 30 minutes alone with the therapist in the gym, with me joining for the last 15 minutes in the OT office. Although hesitant, I understood the rationale behind it – the notion that children may react differently with parents present. Despite my discomfort, I decided to give it a chance.
As vigilant parents prioritizing our child's safety, we took note of the available cameras in the room and the concurrent social group session in the gym. Unfortunately, on the third session, an incident occurred. While I was in the waiting room, engrossed in a book, my son suddenly emitted a loud scream/cry. Hastening to the OT room, I discovered he was alone, and I hadn't been called in. This caught me off guard, intensifying my concern.
The therapist seemed somewhat uneasy and attributed the cry to my son's protest against transitioning from the gym to the OT room. While a valid explanation, as a parent, I knew the cry was distinct. Eventually, after providing comfort and de-escalation, the therapist informed me that my son had fallen back while protesting on the chair, resulting in a head injury. The revelation left me wondering if this critical detail should have been communicated first. My husband now accompanies our son during OT, observing from a distance during gym time and joining in when they move to the OT room.

Front Office
The front office staff consistently impresses with their knowledge and warm hospitality. They are well-prepared, ensuring my son's school note is ready, and they emphasize the importance of hand hygiene, demonstrating a commitment to safety. Their dedication to prioritizing safety is evident and commendable.The office is always creatively decorated, bringing a smile to my son's face every time we visit.

Call Center
The call center is a hit or miss. The beginning of our journey the schedulers were giving us conflicting information regarding authorization status and availability. But eventually we were able to set something up favorable to our schedule. We’ve needed to adjust therapy sessions twice and once the transition was smooth. The second time, we were told the therapist did not have availability for the time frame needed. When we attended which we thought was our last session with one of the therapist, she was shocked since she did have an availability. The front desk staff was able to assist us and we were really happy. I don’t want to be too hard in my review of them because I understand that availability fluctuates.

Despite a few bumps along the way, our satisfaction with this facility remains unwavering. I give it a 4-star review, with the only deduction being for the OT incident. I wholeheartedly recommend it to parents seeking assistance for their little ones.

Extremely unorganized staff. The speech therapists here are not the issue, especially Ms. Le eta she's amazing. But the finance department and scheduling department are a MESS. First day there 10 minutes out of my daughter's 25 minute appointment got interrupted because they double booked. Now that my daughter has been in therapy for almost two months, finance/insurance department tell me they Never received authorization from insurance for her to be there. How they allowed her to be there for almost two months makes NO SENSE. They asked me to do their job and contact her doctors office because they called ONCE and didn't get an answer. Now im playing telephone between offices and I only did this because my daughter has been showing improvement I didnt want her therapies to be canceled. Which ended up happening either way. As a HCW im extremely dissapointed in the unprofessionalism in these departments.

DO NOT GO TO THE ORANGE OFFICE THE STAFF ARE NOT FRIENDLY THEY MESS UP APPOINTMENTS, my son went there for OT ASSESSMENT AND THE PHYSICIAN WAS VERY judgmental, went home very worried and sad. On the other hand…
The Cerritos Office and Huntington Beach office are great, my son had a hearing test at the Cerritos Office, Audiologist Eddie Guzman, he was so friendly to my son he made the whole process easy, I felt so welcome the minute I stepped in the Cerritos office. Huntington Beach office the staff is great Monica and speech therapist Channdoni are so sweet.

$600 for a hearing test for a 5 year old little girl with insurance... I went somewhere else and they charge $250 for anyone even if a person has no insurance. The other place asked me to only pay the deductible. Needless to say, I moved my appointment somewhere else since this place price gouges. Very shady and overpriced business!

I just needed to know if my daughter's softband was ready for pickup, i was on hold for over 25 minutes! It's crazy how you can't call the office directly for simple questions or have an option on the phone tree.

Providence is NOT enforcing CA’s statewide mandatory mask rules. They say that those kids are under 2 or have disabilities, but I’ve seen older kids (clearly over 5) without masks. My kid has a disability too, as most of our kids at private speech therapy do. My kid hates masks too, but we wear one because it’s the governor’s order and for public safety precautions. When I said something about it, they told me that they refused to enforce the governor’s order and that we could wait outside if we didn’t like it, instead of telling the others to follow the rules and wear their masks. I have this in writing from their director. And this is at a medical service provider’s office, where safety and adherence should be an example to others, not a rebellious outlier.

Another thing is that one of the therapists (the lead) tried to grab my child and force him to sit. He’s autistic, and very sensitive to touch, so he lashed out (yelled and hit her arm to get it away from him) at her when she put her hands on him. Then she claimed that HE attacked her, but she’s the one out of her chair, grabbing at him first, which provoked him when she could’ve offered a reward system, like most practitioners do, to encourage compliance. She talked to me like a child and gave me, not my child, homework. Egregiously, she tried to instruct me to carry out her tasks during session, which no provider has ever asked me to do. I asked what she was going to do if I conducted the therapy. She said she was going to “observe” me. I refused and told her we didn’t need her to be paid to “observe” for 30 minutes. It’s my role to observe, not hers. She made my child hate going to speech. We switched from her incompetent “care” immediately after the grabbing incident. She should know better than to put her hands on a child, which is unprofessional. She keeps a big frame with her CSUN degrees on the wall, which is a testament to her mediocrity and ethnic privilege. As a double USC alum, undergrad and grad, I have worked in higher education and never put my degrees on the wall at work, and I’ll be darned if I’ll be talked down to by a CSUN grad.

The only reason I chose this place is that licensed SLP’s work with the kids instead of a bunch of students and interns, like at most speech providers. I’m okay with the alternate provider we now have, even though my child still hates coming to Providence.

I took my daughters for a speech assessment and to be honest It was not the best experience. Rude therapist. Do not take your child here. Try the regional center better.

My experience with providence has been outstanding. Only 6 weeks after he started theraphy, my son is already reaching many goals set up for him during the evaluation. His vocabulary has nearly tripled, among other achievements. My son is improving tremendously and all thanks to Zuye Peralta for being incredibly patient with my son. Zuye is gentle yet enthusiastic. She always finds a way to reach him, to work with him, because he's not always cooperative. I also love that I requested a Spanish speaker as I am bilingual and only address him in Spanish. Zuye's Spanish is perfect which is a plus. She gives me a lot of ideas and examples of what to do and how to help him. I am beyond grateful that my son was assigned to her. Every employee at this location is just wonderful. Starting with the receptionist who always greets you with a smile, the person who did the hearing test on my son, and the other staff members. Parking is a breeze, place is very clean, staff is profesional and friendly, I highly recommend this location!
