Republic frequently misses my biweekly recycling pickup. They have recently started missing my weekly trash pickup as well. We can never reach someone on the phone. Missed pickup submissions online never go through (they told us the one time we got a hold of someone by phone). They still charge full price though! We can somewhat rely on getting 1 of 2 recycling pickups a month and most trash pickups are taken, but lately, trash is starting to get missed too. While you wait on hold for someone to pick up, your call gets picked up then it hangs up on you. Get trash service anywhere else if you can.

EDIT: I emailed Republic like they asked below. In a shorter version, I was told they are so sorry, but will not be getting the missed pickup early. They then told me they put a credit on my account. We log in and they gave me $1.75. This is absolutely insulting. At that point, why even bother? I emailed back questioning this credit asking for an explanation on how a full service not being completed equals $1.75. They replied saying I am billed $68 a month for recycling. The new representative gave me another $8. So $9 credit total for the month when my recycling and trash was not picked once each. Yes, $9 when I’m billed $68 a month for only recycling and they have missed both pickups. This company is an absolute joke. We would be better off throwing $20 bills in our trash and bringing it to the dump ourselves. At least we know where our money is going.

I am beyond fed up with this company. For the second week in a row, my trash and recycling haven’t been picked up. I emailed them about it, and they claimed to have no record of a missed pickup and refused to credit my account. Then, they missed the pickup again yesterday. When I called, the person answering the phones said there was no record of it and that she couldn’t transfer me to the appropriate department.

All my neighbors have already switched companies, but I was trying to give them a chance. Not anymore! If you care about your business, you take care of your customers. This is unacceptable.

I would give 0 stars if that was an option! We scheduled them mid November when we moved to Charlton (it's now January) and they have shown up once and that want even a regular scheduled pick up, I had to call and complain to schedule a "make up" and even then they came a day later then they said they would. No problem sending me a bill on time though. No thank you, goodbye Republic, not sure how you are still in business!

I give my normal driver a 5. The rest of the company 0.
The recycling as the company puts it, "Is important to maintaining a company's operation", but if your a residential user don't bother us. Furthermore, if you call our customer service desk we(Republic) will not answer. If you leave a call back number, a quick response from us, but there is no one on customer service representative on the line. So you hang up and they have successfully completed another customer interaction.
So when making a decision on who to use, think twice before getting aggravated regularly with Republic.

After the past two years I’ve decided to terminate. Every week the pick up is missed recycling missed 3/4 weeks a month. Trash piled up on my street. Horrible customer service and the last straw after not having trash picked up for the 3rd week I received a price increase and 70 fuel surcharge. I cancelled and stopped my auto pay. 3 weeks later they managed to process the auto payment. 2 mo’s later still have not revived a credit. The CEO Jon Vander Ark should resign in disgrace and find another career because your company is a complete disaster. Ask anyone who has Republic as a trash removal provider. Worst of the worst !! Go home Jon!!

After dealing with them for 7 years it’s time to switch. Continuous missed pick ups and they won’t come back the next day and get it. Keep increasing prices and lowering the service quality.

I am also experiencing very difficult services, in the past 4 weeks we have 2 postponed, that is suppose to happen next business day, one for truck down, the second is a Holliday... we are not receiving next day pick up, we were rescheduled to following week. At their best convinience, not for the customer.
Our services are weekly and not byweek, the call center are very polite, but do not get the problem resolved.
One of the agent today, mention they do not have contact over the phone with their locals service providers, only emails and internal system management, I was very surprise by this information.
Since we lost the contact direct with the service providers locally, it became worse in customer service, us as customer, gets out of the loop of communication. This week, I call 2 times Wednesday, 2 times Thursday, 4 times today, Friday .
I went to their web side and schedule 2 times a missing pick up. All this time and calls, waiting on line is been wasted. No one has called me back, and the bins are still out there withou been pick it up.
Very bad taste for service when their are in fault with you.

We have a business account with Republic and I've been complaining to them about 3am-4am pickups. The dumpster is located right outside an apartment building and residential homes. We kindly asked if they could change the pick up time to 7am instead of the middle of the night. Due to loud noise and complaints from numerous residents I called up republic.

They agreed to change the time but they still kept coming at 3am and 4am. Finally I called again and the lady said basically we can't help you out. I said so you would rather lose the 1100 a month you charge me for just this one of many buildings we own than to come at 7am. She said yes they would rather lose your business than to change times. That call took place today!

I will be canceling my service and moving on. We own multiple businesses and apartment buildings on shrewsbury st. I will make sure they are all chaged.

Update 8/05/24

Nothing changed even after the owner replied which they do just for the reviews. Still canceling our service.
