This is a review of a “hip kit” I purchased on Amazon. There is a serious design flaw of the “gripper” apparatus that comes with this kit. There is no way to secure it when it is not in use—which is 98% of the time. An attempt has been made to address the problem with a plastic clip-on fixture, but the fixture does not adhere to any surface that might be useful to me (or any other user of this product). Most importantly, it doesn’t hold to the walker, where it would be most convenient. Nor is there a way to pick up the gripper when it falls on the floor, which, of course it does frequently. The result is that I am constantly bending over to retrieve it—a motion that is verboten to anyone recovering from hip surgery.. There are flaws with other tools in this package, but the flaw of the gripper is the most egregious, and it is that which earns the whole kit the lowest rating I could give it.
