If you are on time and don’t get called within 5 min of your appointment, check with the front desk!!

I now remember why I stopped coming for annual exams. I arrived 20 min early. Sure there was a problem with my insurance card on file so I had to call and get an updated member ID. That took 6 minutes so I was still on time for my 1pm appointment. I got my form to fill out and sat in the waiting area. 15 minutes passed by and I figured they were running behind. Not a problem, I’m an HCP myself so I get it. 30 minutes pass and I go ask the front desk if there is a delay. They tell me I wasn’t even checked in so no one knew I was waiting to be seen. Wow. Arct, front desk manager, finds me and apologizes profusely and will ask front desk assistant what happened. They work to get me another appointment the next day or following week but I’ve waited 45 days for this appointment and now I’ve wasted 2 hours to not get anything done. The best part of each interaction was them saying ‘well, the insurance info was fixed’. Please stop blame me/insurance update. There was still 5 minutes before 1pm and the fault is solely because the ladies in front didn’t finish checking me in. I enjoyed that when they weren’t able to get my insurance info initially, one lady asked the other to make sure I hadn’t been checked in. Well…you’ve apparently still didn’t before you headed out for lunch.

I'm not surprised that this office has 1.8 stars. I've been trying for a week to get a referral for my daughter (who has missed school because she's been so sick), but unfortunately they are incapable of doing such a simple task. I've added up the time I've spent calling and waiting on hold to try to get them to help me and it's been over 8 hours. When I express my frustration the two women at the front desk (Alisha and Megan) both speak to me in a rude tone, having absolutely no sympathy for my daughter's condition. I highly recommend going somewhere else. This has been the absolute worse experience with a healthcare provider ever.

The doctor is good but the receptionist is not.

I recently transferred from another PAMF location at the beginning of my 3rd trimester, and got rescheduled twice to different OBs for my first appointment, both with short notice. When I tried to schedule for the return OB visits after my first visit, the receptionist kept scheduling me with different OBs for the following visits. I understand the OBs are busy, but the receptionist does not even try to inform the patients when their OBs have new spots available due to cancellations. She asked me to call back frequently to find out by myself. After I called for 3 consecutive days, she said this was "ridiculous" and "I'm totally over it" in the phone.

Although eventually this receptionist did reschedule my visits based on my OB's suggestion, she was really impatient and unprofessional during the whole process. It seems it is OK for them to reschedule and delay your appointments, but NOT OK for the patients to raise it themselves. I've been with PAMF for many years and this never happened at other locations before. Really bad experience.

I completely agree with the experience of other reviews here. Some of the MDs I met till now are knowledgeable and polite but the front desk receptionists are too arrogant and impolite. I am checking to see if I can move to a different hospital. If they can replace all front desk receptionists in second floor may be I will think about staying back. But this experience definitely causes too much tension and stress for pregnant women.

I was misinformed and told that my insurance would cover my prenatal genetic screening when my doctor recommended it. After receiving the California genetic screening, which consists of 2 blood tests and an ultrasound, my insurance denied the claim and said that someone in the OB-GYN office needs to call in for pre-authorization which can be back-dated. It takes 5 minutes and I got all the information needed for the request and sent it to the office, but the receptionist would not call because it is out-of-scope of her job, then the office coordinator mentioned she will have the nurse assistant call in, and then the nurse informs me that the office doesn’t do pre-authorizations for genetic prenatal bloodwork. Please stop misinforming your patients. If I had known, I would try to go to a different office that did do pre-authorizations.

Not homebirth friendly. It blows my mind that you have to give birth at their facility if you want to receive any form of prenatal care. I was informed that it is a liability risk but it really is another way for them to make money and charge tens of thousands for them to deliver your baby. I'm more than okay to sticking to a midwifery care instead. Unfortunately, midwives usual do not offer ultrasound services. I was hoping to get my ultrasound covered by my insurance. Looks like we will pay out of pocket instead. I'll rather receive the best care, so out of pocket it is.

Check in was good. Had a hysterectomy performed by James Lilja to remove my cervical cancer and he uses this facility to do so. Big advice don’t let this doctor perform anymore surgeries, malpractice left to right. I wish I would had researched more on this doctor and he has had many other cases go wrong. He did my surgery on a Friday and he sent a different doctor to follow up on me through the weekend. The nurses were not helpful during my stay. I also had mentioned to them that I wasn’t feeling right and the on-call doctor kept asking if my right side felt ok, very suspicious because that’s the side Dr. Lilja I hired, but how would I know right away under so many pain meds if I was ok or not. Dr. Lilja damaged my ureter on my right and I was in and out with post medical issues because of it for months. He is an doctor with zero knowledge of the anatomy of a woman’s or for lack of better words- lack of a humans body.

Great doctor, terrible terrible front desk staff and phone operators, have no idea/intentions on what I am trying to achieve(booking appointments, lab test request) and instead will just keep accusing me of not booking last time(which was their fault, they asked me to rebook) or ignore my medical questions and tell me to go to my primary doctor. Very terrible and arrogant phone and front desk service, basically cannot get anything done with phone receiption
