As a recently retired health care provider of over fifty years I have known and experienced many approaches and deliveries of health care. I would like to think that all health care providers are trying to do their absolute best, but we all know of the pressures on our health care system exerted by the insurance industry, government regulation and corporate health care entities.They are placing a tremendous downstream burden on the practitioners actually providing the care, creating frustration, burnout and early retirement/escape from the healthcare arena. Fortunately I have had some great doctors over the years. However, it's getting harder and harder to find a practice accepting new patients. I personally found that to be the case upon my retirement to the Cape, where I was refused entry to several practices. When I finally got into one, I found the care providers overworked, understaffed, and not interested in spending any more than the most minimal time during my visits. As a last resort I reached out to the medical network from my old practice in Connecticut and was referred to a manager of the largest blood diagnostic lab in New England, and who was familiar with most of the primary care providers in the area. I told him the kind of care provider I was looking for, someone willing to make personal connections, someone experienced, someone who had a more integrated wholistic approach to health care. And that I was willing to travel to see such a person. He immediately suggested Nurse Practitioner Kriehn- she was less than an hour away, so I called and was given an appointment right away, without any mention of how I found the office. As you may have guessed by the length of this testimonial, I was was so impressed by how my appointment went. The waiting room was not packed, friendly front desk, nice feel to the office, busy but not stressed. A friendly nurse took all my vitals, and Nurse Practitioner Kriehn came in. She thoroughly went through my lengthy medical history with all the appropriate questions, asked about my background, my family-I know she is actively growing her practice where we were from, and their health issues. And intermixed along the way, she carried on a pleasant conversation to better get to know me and to allow me to get to know her. I was very impressed with her past practice experience in multiple different settings, and how she incorporated wholistic medicine and nutritional knowledge with mainstream medical training- far different than most doctors I have known. She really wants to do what is best for her patients. She is not insurance driven, and provides tremendous value for the time she spends with her patients. During my year long experience over several visits, I have come to really appreciate our time together, and how lucky I am to have her as my primary care provider. I strongly recommend!

Shannon Kriehn, FNP, is an outstanding primary care provider! She is incredibly knowledgeable and takes the time to get to know you as a person, not just a patient. She goes beyond treating symptoms and truly understands what makes you tick. Shannon is not a dr she's not qualified she's can't even tell the difference between vitamin deficiency and Insulin resistance let alone read test results that tell you
