This is review is for underage therapy following trauma.

Initially we had a good experience with our therapist at Silva. She was warm and personable. Most importantly, the underage family member who was seeing her liked her a lot.

On a few occasions, she cancelled appointments or rescheduled them last minute on the day of the appointment. This was annoying, as the mom of a newborn, I work around a set schedule. 24 Hour notice would've been appreciated. I was understanding and made the changes work for the benefit of the little person seeing her.

The final straw was when we had a virtual appointment and there were technical difficulties. We agreed we'd use another medium if the issues persisted at a certain time. When that time came, she stopped responding. Then called a while later requesting we change the date of the appointment. I watched my family member sit at the computer waiting for her.

My husband and I work very hard to be consistent and accountable, despite really hectic schedules and him deploying. Accountability and reliability are really important to us and so is respect for our time. How are you supposed to build trust if you are inconsistent and are constantly making excuses for your behavior? I decided I didn't want to keep someone in my family member's life that would be inconsistent. We terminated therapy.

I reached out to the office to see if they could connect me with someone else and never heard back. We wasted a lot of time trying to build rapport and create a safe space. This is especially upsetting because the person receiving treatment was only 6 years of age. How do you explain to them why they can't keep seeing their new "friend?" Disappointing and appalling to say the least.

If you expect reliability, I would avoid this place. It will only add to your stress, especially following a traumatic event.
