I needed to go to a skilled nursing facility after being in the hospital with a blood infection to have professionals administer antibiotics through a PICC line and ended up here at Skyline nursing home. After reading the reviews of this place I thought I would be going back to Valley Medical that night. Within ten minutes at least 6 nurses came to introduce themselves and wanted to be sure I felt welcome here. Then Robert my RN came to check my PICC line and also did a thorough head to toe exam. He assured me I was in good hands here and I believed him. He has been my swing shift RN since. The manager of swing shift (Jay) is a good man who cares about the well being of every patient here. I could go on for hours about what he does for this place. I have never seen a resident get abused or ignored here EVER!!!! Who ever said that is a liar straight up. In fact it's the nurses that get yelled at spit on and abused verbally. All the staff here is overly nice and care about the folks living here. I highly recommend Skyline nursing home the staff is professional and kind, they definitely have the most knowledgeable RN's top that off with two of the most knowledgeable, caring, and genuine men I have met (Jay and Robert) it's a no brainier. My name is Steve Martin and before being a patient here I never heard of this place BTW.

As a registry CNA through Nursa.
It was my first day as a CNA, and I regret to announce that I will not return in the future. While everything went smoothly during the PM shift, my experience took a negative turn during the NOC shift when they arrived. I felt antagonized by the NOC Shift staff, specifically the NOC CNA and the NOC Nurse at station 2.
I have witnessed patient abuse by a NOC nurse. She was rough handling the patient without turning him cautiously without care. I expressed to the nurse of my concerns that she is hurting the patient and was handling him very roughly. Also the CNA was forcing a gown on a patient who refused to wear a gown. Yet, I explained to the night CNA that the patient refused and didn’t want to wear a gown only insist on wearing a T shirt instead. The night nurse said that it is company policy that the patients only wear gowns here which is a Lie. I told the nurse that the patient has the right to refuse and the NOC nurse and NOC CNA argued with me inside the room 202 telling me to leave!! and they will finish changing my people! But told them, I am not leaving! I don’t leave without finishing my rounds and my work! Go tell the supervisor! Leave! “ The NOC CNA and NOC Nurse repeatedly said, “leave go tell the supervisor ! Leave!” I told the Cna that she is not a nurse she cannot delegate me and tell me what to do. I reminded her that she is a CNA not a nurse. The Noc shift seniorities is very corrupt. They should all be fired. The night CNA cannot tell me what to Leave. Only the NOC Nurses can and the nurse told me , “Leave go tell the supervisor . Leave! Go tell the supervisor!” I felt discriminated and treated inhuman, and the NOC staff/ seniority is very corrupt, the NOC staff is terrible! And if your a registry. They will discriminate you and antagonize you and tell you that you don’t know how to do your job!
The in-house staff will have an issue with you regarding that you are registry and make more money then the in-house and not appreciating that you drive hours away just to help the shortage of staff and to thank you instead, ‘ Noc Staff will discriminate you as a Registry and treat you inhuman and say that you never do your job!’ Instead of appreciating your help and effort in commuting to help with the short staffed.
I even asked for the compliance hotline number due to a patient wanted to complain to corporate, but yet the front desk and the nurse supervisor refused to give me the number to give them to the patients. That is against the law. I had informed the patients staff refused to give me the information, so they can leave all up to the Ombudsman, but patients said they continually Call the Ombudsman and they never answer their calls or call them back. I feel great concerned for the safety of the patients!
If you are a family member? I would get them out right away!
Never in my life would I ever suggest you placing your family in here!
Your family will be in grave danger!
The company needs to be shut down and they need to fire all staff and start fresh!
But they need to greatly fire NOC shift staff the night shift is very corrupt and this seniority people who worked so long think they run the place!

I strongly advise against working or bringing your family to this place. The facility is infested with German roaches and there are instances of elder abuse and neglect. Moreover, there is a lack of necessary supplies for cleaning your loved ones. The management fails to provide the staff with the required resources. When I joined Skyline through my agency, I had no clue about the situation I was stepping into. I personally witnessed patients being forced into bed, ignored, and made to wear multiple pairs of underwear to prevent leakage. This is completely unacceptable. Within just an hour of my shift, I had to reach out to supervisors, the police, and the elder abuse hotline. You and your family deserve much better, so please avoid coming here. This was my first and final shift at this facility. I hope this helps someone make the right decision.

This is a long overdue review. My poor grandpa stayed in this facility around 2011 up until he passed away from contracting Covid in here in mid Dec 2020. This place was what my family could afford at the time. He had stayed in here for about 5 years already before I became old enough to get my license and drive my grandma and I here every week to visit and bring him food/different items he requested. Every week we came back he was missing clothes, even the clothes we had just brought the previous week. He was missing just about everything we would bring him the week prior. He would wear other patient’s clothes that were even labeled with their name. Thanks staff. Seeing all these horrible reviews makes me so sad for everyone who has experienced this place. They’re all accurate. In 2020 we could not see or contact my grandpa at all. He had no electronic devices to contact us. We weren’t allowed in. They informed us he got Covid, then next thing you know they informed us that he was going to the ICU. If no one was allowed to come visit then did he get Covid from staff? A nurse let me see him through FaceTime before he went to the hospital ICU and he was already unresponsive. I had to visit him in the ICU through the glass and just watch him lay there unconscious. Don’t leave your loved ones in this place. My grandpa used to complain about the abuse in this place.

This 75 yr old lady had cold feet. This place would not give her a pair of socks. Bare feet. I gave her mine. Today she was wearing my socks. Gave me the nicest heartfelt hug I have ever had. Being I am 62, with over 70 gf's. That hug meant more...

Skyline Review by Agnes Brun 9.18.23
In July 2023 I fell while walking, broke my left hip, had a total hip replacement at O’Connor hospital, and a few days after that was transferred to Skyline HealthCare Center for further care and physical therapy. I stayed at Skyline for almost 4 weeks.
Yes, I was intimidated at first. The place is big, loud, and busy. The residents are suffering to various degrees physically and some are not mentally well. However, I quickly came to appreciate the fact that we were in this village together, and most people, residents as well as staff, did what they could to make the best of it.
The caregivers, some born here, many immigrants, took good care of us. Some have long commutes, some work double shifts to take care of their own families. Did they all speak English well? No. Did they always do a perfect job? No, but the nurses, and particularly the nursing assistants (CNAs), were working hard to care for us patients. Their practical skills and willingness to help are what we most relied on, and what I feel most grateful for. I am very thankful for those caregivers. I was curious, and I did my part to communicate with everyone. That made a difference. People were open and friendly and responded in kind.
The food was adequate, but not great. The room I was in was cleaned daily. They are flexible with visiting hours. My husband came by daily and he brought supplies for me like wipes, soap, and shampoo, so I was not lacking anything. The building is older, and I liked the 1970’s vibe. There are skylights, a piano, an aviary. The community rooms are open and spacious.
The physical therapy department is good. The professional and kind PTs, and OTs got me functioning well again. I looked forward to those sessions. I did not have contact with the social workers till close to discharge. Once I did they were very helpful. Ric, the boss, comes out of his office to chat with everyone. He takes dance steps while running this place. Is he a politician or a magician? I don’t know, but he made me smile! I definitely got better while staying at Skyline, and it was an interesting and educative experience for me. Thank you.
