Unlike any other hospital, or doctor’s office, this place is an enigma. What I mean by that, is that there are no career nurses or doctors (in the way that we would normally talk about politicians, for instance.) No, EVERY. SINGLE. PERSON I encountered at the Spencer Cancer Center seems to be there for a CALLING. They WANT to be there. None of those folks are just going through the motions. They’re not just there for a job. They truly want to be there, & you can just tell. I’ve never experienced such kindness in the medical world, at any hospital, or doctor’s office, ANYWHERE. I mean, EVERYBODY that works there is like the nicest person you’ve ever met! Of the many, many times I went through those doors, a good bit of those times, I DIDN’T feel like being there, I never ONCE encountered someone working there, who was just having an off day, or a bad day. Not once! EVERYONE there is the kindest you’ll ever meet! And everyday they all seem to be having a good day. From the time you walk in the door, to waiting in any area, which is hardly anytime at all, (I think by design, they never let patients wait for very long there) you wil be met with a smile, a friendly face, & a warm, inviting voice. I can only assume that they train the heck out of everybody that works there, to be that way. I’ll admit, I even tried to be pissy, once or twice, just because I was feeling so rotten. Didn’t matter. Nope. Everybody was still just as nice as they could be! The folks in radiation are just so upbeat & positive, you can’t help but smile back. Everyone in the Apothecary, sweet as can be. All the folks on the chemo floor, the same. In every office, every waiting area, ANY square inch of that place, you’ll find nothing but caring, & lovely people. They’re all personable, & intentionally delightful.
It’s also just a beautiful place. The grounds are so gorgeous. Always fresh flowers. On the chemo floor, the entire back side of every bay, where there are 6-8 stations in each, for patients to sit comfortably, there’s an extra chair in each & every one, (so that folks can bring a support person), the entire back side is glass, overlooking a picture-perfect yard, with grass, trees, flowers, birds, & butterflies. That’s another thing, folks that work there aren’t just nice to the cancer patients, they are equally as nice to the support people that each person brings with them! It’s almost crazy. From the first time I went there, to every single radiation appointment, every PET scan, every chemo floor visit, every doctor’s visit, every lab visit, I was just blown away at how caring & kind everyone that works there is. The volunteers, the security folks, any secretarial staff (for lack of a better word), or janitorial staff, not to mention the nurses & doctors, EVERYBODY is the kindest you’ll ever meet. Still just blows me away thinking about it.

Great Experience, entire staff exceptionally courteous, and caring. Straight to the point, "Thorough" examination. Professionally gives details of the examination, and why they're being done. Gives advice on things that will help you through the process, and helps with daily health. Been seeing Dr Johnson and his staff for a few years now, so I'm a little bias, even though I think they're the best, the entire establishment is a "Blessing" 👍🏾

Dr Lennon and his staff have been the perfect fit for me during my battle with stage 4 high grade b-cell lymphoma and post cancer free diagnosis. All of my visits are handled with professionalism, top notch treatments, and kindness. The facility is beautiful and modern. From the first moment you step into the center you are treated as if you are the most important patient in the facility. We are so blessed to have The Spencer Cancer Center in our town.

Dr. Caroline Heideman, the nurses, technicians, and office administration are all wonderful. They are always kind and helpful. They take time to explain and to listen. I am grateful to them all and highly recommend them to everyone.

Spencer Cancer center has been a very pleasant experience for me. Everyone has been very kind and loving. Having Cancer is very scary but the staff has been so supportive. Brandon Johnson is one of the best doctors hands down I have ever had. I wouldn't trade them for anything in the world. Thank you for caring about us. 🩷🩷🩷
