It’s a rough time to have spotty health insurance! This place will not only help you with your Medicaid paperwork but the entire staff is so nice! And helpful. Crazy because this is one of maybe 3 clinic experiences where I felt like a human being they show so much respect and care. I find it hard to open up at clinics or properly explain what’s happening because I rarely feel listened to but that’s just so not the case here. I felt so safe. 100% will recommend and I’ll be going back. ♥️ you won’t get turned down either if you’re in a financial bind.

I am over the moon about my experience at St Thomas. Everyone is incredibly friendly, they're timely, listened to my symptoms and are doggedly searching for the truth about what's going on with me. THE best experience I've ever had with doctors in New Orleans, and I've lived here all 30 years of my life. Outstanding.

P.S. - I needed blood work done today and was in and out in 8 minutes flat. Exceptional.

First day in NOLA and I got a UTI. St. Thomas was fabulous! Everyone was friendly and helpful. I got in almost immediately. Got two prescriptions filled half a block away right away. Better service than at home!💕

Portal+ UPDATE: STCHC is now affiliated with LCMC. The services, as highlighted in the previous post (see below), remain the same. Yet, the patient portal is now easy, comprehensive, secure, and worth using. I can communicate directly with my Primary, and get a response, request refills, view comparative test results, and more.
In addition, they have implemented 'same day' appointments. My judgment on the process is pending.

~~~~~~~~~~
UPDATE (many changes since my last review years ago):
STCHC is conveniently located in a number of locations around the city. I frequent the Magazine/Saint Andrew Corridor. Parking is available at both yet at Magazine & St. Andrew, as of 09/07/23, the parking lot is now fully repaved and marked. I know it's been a long time coming, and it is greatly appreciated. I've been a client for several years, and the reception at both locations (especially Magazine/Andrew) have always been polite, efficient, and professional. Scheduling is more flexible than in the past. Teleheath is available, convenient, and optional. The facility waiting area and restrooms are clean and spacious. Wait time from arrival to services consistently improves. Appointment reminders are still relentless. Yet this is still due to individuals who are frequent late arrivals and/or no shows. So the good continue to suffer for the discourteous - no problem I've adjusted. Medical services remain outstanding. They have an array of new medical exams, specialties,
testing and imaging capabilities. Each Doctor and especially Nurse Practitioner, Robin Fouquet, FNP-C (cue loud applause) are consummate professionals, knowledgeable with excellent listening skills, which allows me to explain and ask necessary questions. I am SO glad she is on my team. Appointments are never rushed or mechanical. Yet we manage to complete exams within allotted slots with perhaps time to spare. Referrals are easily obtained when warranted. Otherwise, recommended alternative methods have worked just as well.
The Patient Portal remains an utter disappointment. Void of ease regarding nativigation and information provided.
I also use the on-site Pharmacy (now on Magazine St.) which communicates by (phone, text and/or email) directly with me rather than me using the Portal. Confirmations of Rx orders are a huge plus. The Pharmacy offers convenient pick-up, home delivery or postal delivery (without the big-box aggravation). Pricing is equal to major competitors. The Pharmacy staff is excellent. The Pharmacy window staff
(after survey responses) have improved tremendously. STCHC listens.
The STCHC Ophthalmology clinic has moved to the St. Andrew's location, and I could not be happier. Dr. Costello & Julie are THE BEST. For other specialized services (lab work, etc.), the Columbia Parc site is a timesaver, and I have only received exemplary care.
Finally, I remain eternally grateful & loyal for when I returned to NOLA to assist with the rebuilded, STCHC was open when there was hardly anything else available. Their history of service to the New Orleans community is ingrained.⚜
Switch doctors around way too often, Doesn't listen to patients concerns when you are seen. Arrived 5 minutes late due to traffic twice and was denied visit both times, now being told I can't schedule due to missed appointments even though I arrived to be seen. Wouldn't recommend Cara mills to anyone.
I was in need of a new primary care physician and was recommended St. Thomas by a friend. They were able to get me in a few days later, which I was a bit shocked that it was so easy! I was expecting at least a few weeks wait.
My new doc (Ms. Alli Mccormick) is STELLAR. Attentive, listens exceptionally, covers all the bases, answers any questions fully and completely, easy going and easy to open up to. She was able to look at my patient portal account I had opened prior at University hospital and see my past treatments/medications/blood work that was done. She's very thorough, which puts my mind at ease.
The waiting room is clean and wasn't crowded at all, and the receptionist was very pleasant. You do need a mask when going back to the patient rooms, but if you don't have one with you they'll offer one.
I love that they have a pharmacy one block down that also makes deliveries to your home. They filled my prescriptions the doc had just called in for me in under 15 minutes. (Incredible! At Walgreens or Walmart you're in for a 30 min wait at the very least!)
I'm so glad I chose St. Thomas CHC and will definitely be recommending it to my friends!
