The work I've done with Jessica has been life changing. I have complex PTSD as a result of my childhood. I've been doing EMDR with her and it's helped me recognize when I'm triggered, have less triggers, and get out of them much more quickly. Her guidance has been the perfect blend of supporting me and challenging my beliefs about myself to help me with my anxiety. The people at Sunglow have been so kind and helpful to me while I was having a hard time. They were so helpful with my schedule and always respond to my calls and emails promptly. They truly make me feel like I matter, and that has been so helpful. Many negative experiences and shady practices by this company. I started therapy with Tabitha Giaquinto under a lowered rate based on income. 80% of my work was lost for almost two years due to the pandemic hitting my industry hard. Someone rear ended me and my car is also totaled, so overall finances and my mental state were not in a good place. I reached out thinking they could help. I was only able to do one session per month, and she was fully aware of all of the problems I was dealing with.

A few hours before my session today my computer had a critical hardware failure and I emailed asking to reschedule the tele session. Tabitha made the decision to charge me the $65 full cancellation fee, knowing it would mean I couldn’t afford an actual session this month - but she would get paid anyhow for being in her own office, doing nothing. Had it been an in person meeting, or if I'd frequently disrespected her time I could understand, but that was not the case.

It really left a bad taste in my mouth about this office. I’ve had panic attacks so bad I had to call the ems two days ago, and she would rather get paid for doing nothing than provide help. I emailed to stop all future sessions and she didn’t try at all to fix any of it, simply said goodbye. This place might work if you don’t ever need someone to cut you a break or care about your well-being, but for me it feels like a bullet dodged.

Edit: Shady handling by this company overall. Instead of contacting me to address it, the owner erased their review reply to me and now there's several 5 star reviews to glow about Tabitha specifically, and bury this one. Not a good look, especially from a group of people who are supposed to be adept at communication. Kept my original reply below, although it's one sided now.

Update - After doing a minor edit (which ended up bumping this review to the top) the owner came back to add a different reply. This kind of performative action is just another questionable way this business handles negative client experiences. No one has emailed me personally and privately, they've only cared when my review pops up.

RE to the owner: The therapist did not offer any other solutions (such as phone or other devices) before emailing back saying there would be a charge and I should call the office to let them know I cannot make it. When I tried to call the office multiple times it was very difficult to get someone to answer (a common problem) and only THEN was I given the information I could use another device and help was finally offered. By then my time before the session was running very short and I was super stressed out by the idea of trying to get your system to work on my phone and get ready in time since I had spent most of my morning trying to make the computer work. In theory, the process you described sounds good, but it didn't work out very well in practice.

I absolutely have loved my experience here! Jess is very kind, compassionate, and shows great respect to her clients! It is a wonderful atmosphere to experience and definitely would recommend to anyone that is in need of support!
